Never Blinded by Love (Linda and Wilson)

Never 148

1. Chapter 148

Chloe was instantly stunned.

"Linda, I wasn't going to congratulate you after watching the video. I'm calling because I have something to discuss with you.”

Linda took the coffee Wendy handed her. "So, what is that you want to talk about?"

"Luke just texted me that you haven't replied to him. He didn't want to call you, so he asked me to check if you're free now that your event is over. Would you like to have dinner with him?"

Chloe had been making considerable efforts to matchmake Linda and Luke.

"Have you switched careers from a designer to a messenger? Linda teased.

"You know I'm only thinking about your happiness. I have many great men around me, but why do you think I only recommended Luke to you?"

"Why did you recommend him then?" Linda played along.

Chloe thought for a moment. "Because I believe Luke is the best in every aspect. If I'm introducing someone to you, he has to be an outstanding man, not just anyone.

Chloe's social circle indeed consisted of many high-quality men: The jewelry design industry might be mixed, but serious conversations with those involved could reveal a number of exceptional men. Many designers were mothers. As top designers, they brought up outstanding children in such excellent environments.

Jewelry designers valued social equality. If a potential partner couldn't benefit their family, the relationship was often deemed insignificant. That was why many designers worried about their children's marriages.

Chloe often faced the pressure to settle down, but few dared directly bring up the topic.

If she disliked the conversation, she wouldn't hesitate to shut it down, leaving the other party speechless. This led to some in the industry labeling her as having a bad temper.

"You know I don't have any interest in starting a relationship right now. My movie is about to be released, so I'm busy and have no time."

Linda was open to being friends with Luke, but the idea of turning him into her lifelong partner seemed

unlikely.

Luke was undeniably outstanding. He was a top-tier candidate in the marriage market from any perspective, including family background, looks, and education.

However, Linda wasn't interested in romance at this stage of her life. She didn't want to waste time on what she considered unimportant either.

Her marriage with William had destroyed all her dreams and fantasies about love, but there was no one to blame but herself. Her excessive stubbornness was the root cause.

Her parents and closest family from the Felix Group had advised against marrying William, but she had insisted.

What had come out of her decision?

Linda found herself deeply hurt, so she no longer believed in love and had no desire to experience it again.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

"I know you don't want to start a new relationship. You're not over the past yet. If you're truly over it, you wouldn't think this way."

Only outsiders could get a clearer view of the entire process, especially when love was blinding.

This was the case for Chloe, and she knew Linda well.
