Chapter 1066
Chapter 1066
Celeste slightly pursed her lips and then said after a moment, “Thanks, you might be doing this for Liam, but your trust at this time is important to
me.”
Liam? What was he got to do with it?
Steven wanted to elaborate on their relationship but before he could even open his mouth, Celeste continued, “By the way. Terell was on set today. He wanted me to issue an apology but I refused, so he had people try to snatch my phone. I threw coffee at him. I think I need to report this to the company.”
She didn’t regret her actions, but she had to consider the potential consequences.
Steven frowned, “Terell? That chain–smoker?”
Celeste said, “Yes.”
“That jerk!” Steven wanted to vent his frustration, but swallowed his words midway and said, “Well, you threw coffee at him. His face is even thicker than Liam’s Liam wouldn’t be hurt by coffee, and his face definitely wouldn’t be either”
It seemed that Mr. Garcia held a deep grudge against Liam, always taking a jab at him when talking about someone else.
Steven reiterated a few instructions before hanging up.
The moment he hung up, Trisha called. She was also worried about Celeste’s state of mind.
Celeste assured her that she was fine and hung up after a short conversation. Sydney was already making her move, so she couldn’t just sit around and do nothing.
After sending Owen away, she walked over to the window with her phone and dialed a number, “It’s me. How much information have you gathered from the investigation I asked you to do? Can you send me what you have now? I need it urgently.”
“Mm, okay, thank you” Celeste said.
Liam said he would come over soon, but he was swamped with work at the company and ended up being delayed for a long time. By the time he was done, it was already dark. When he arrived, Celeste was lying on the couch watching TV, with several bags of snacks and a bottle of coke
next to her.
Seeing him, Celeste immediately sat up. “Where’s my burger?”
Liam was taken aback. He had been worried at the office that she might be depressed. But it seemed like he was the one overthinking, she was totally chill.
Liam put the burger he had lined up for on the coffee table, then sat down next to her. Celeste squatted on the ground and started enjoying her meal
After taking a few bites, she noticed Liam was still staring at her, so she held a piece of chicken up to his mouth, “Want a bite?”
Liam shook his head, “It’s all yours.”
“Then stop staring at me, it’s making me nervous.” Celeste said.
Liam said, “I’ll just sneak a peek then, for learning purposes.”
Celeste was puzzled, “Learning what?” Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
Liam slowly said, “I’m learning how someone can eat a burger so calmly in the face of adversity.”
Celeste defended herself, “I need to eat to have energy to face challenges. If I lose my appetite on the first day, how can I hold on for the coming days? Didn’t we agree to be well prepared before we start fighting?”
Liam was speechless. Was that how that logic worked?
He didn’t argue with her any further. He opened his briefcase, took out a pile of documents, and put them in front of Celeste.
Celeste glanced at them, “What’s this?”
Liam said, “This is all the information on Sydney from when she was a child till now. It might be useful.”
Celeste was surprised, hurriedly picked up the documents and sat down on the couch to read through them.
