My Most Precious Human

Caught red-handed

Caught red-handed

Draven's voice sounded calm and still, and it was probably the most terrifying tone I had ever heard.

My eyes widened while my throat went perfectly dry, making me unable to swallow. Draven's eyes

slowly roamed down my terrified body. Then he slammed me against the wall and caged me between

his hands, on each side of my hand.

"I'm sorry!" I choked out hoarsely.

"Why are you here, Lilith?" His eyes drilled deeper, forcing me to answer his every question.

The raw force Draven released upon me, considering that he stood almost naked, should have felt as

intimidating as arousing, but it was the intimidating part that swallowed my brain. Within less than a

second, all the possible answers ran across my head. Every lie sounded ridiculous and had the

potential to get me into even more trouble.

"I…" My throat clenched so tightly that a single sound felt painful.

Unknowingly, my eyes roamed down to my pocket, and his eyes followed. A tiny piece of the note that I

shoved there was still sticking out. Draven used one hand to pull it out while placing his other one flat

on my shoulder and pining me harder against the wall.

"Delivery around 4 PM. Christopher's report at 5 PM. Dinner at 6 PM," he read out loud. "Mind telling

me why did you break into my room to steal the note about my daily schedule?"

He smirked, throwing the note away, obviously amused, and I blushed like an idiot. I didn't care what

was on that note; I cared only that Draven was the one who had written it.

"Well, Lilith?" He leaned closer, dreadfully shrinking the distance between us.

"I-I needed your handwriting," I breathed out, turning my head to avoid his stare.

"To do what, Lilith? Did you want to forge some documents and sign them with my name?" He

whispered, brushing his lips against my cheek.

Shivers spread across my body, increasing my heart rate to an insane level. "I… needed to know if I

could trust you…" I muttered.

His fingertips stroked down my arms. One of his hands was enough to grab both of my wrists and pin

them above my head.

"And you chose the way that makes you less trustworthy in my eyes," he chuckled coldly, pressing his

body against mine.

I was seconds away from panicking. I couldn't move. I couldn't escape him, and I had no power within

me to resist. My chest moved up and down, my breasts stroking his naked muscles while doing it. His

hips moved forward, with his bulge rubbing the lower part of my belly. It didn't help that I tried to avoid

his gaze. I could feel his breath on my face, my neck, and the strength of his body devouring me bit by

bit.

"I had to know that it wasn't you…" I mumbled softly.

"Explain, Lilith," he ordered, his lips nipping at one side of my neck.

I couldn't tell if he wanted to make me talk or make it harder for me. His hand slipped on my back,

around my waist, and jolted me against his hips. I gasped and unknowingly faced his intense stare. My

mind was unable to construct a single sentence while I was gazing into those onyx pupils of his. I

wriggled, trying to release my hands from his grip. He chuckled at my attempts.

"Stop it! I lose my mind when you're like that!" I exclaimed.

Startled by my sudden, unplanned confession, he let me go. I took a deep breath and, using my

trembling hands, I pushed him away.

"I've been investigating encrypted notes addressed to Elora. The one who sent them must have been

someone powerful, and I needed to be sure that it wasn't you," I said, lowering my gaze.

Draven puffed, trying to ridicule my suspicions, but then grabbed my chin, forcing me to look into his

eyes.

"You should have told me, and then I would have given it to you," he gritted his teeth.

"I didn't know that," I stated, pushing his hand away from my chin.

"You should have trusted me this much." Draven crossed his hands over his chest.

I glanced at him meaningfully. "Would you seriously ask someone who might have been behind a

series of brutal deaths to give you something that might prove it?"

With a smug smirk on his face, he wrapped his arm around my waist and tugged me close to him. "If I

were as brutal as you suspected me to be, you would be dead by now."

I gulped and formed a feeble smile on my face, then slowly found my way out of his grip. "At least now I

know that you are not JD."

"JD?" Draven glanced at me curiously.

"That was the signature on those notes," I explained.

"Why did you say that it must have been someone powerful?" he kept inquiring.

"The content of these messages was harsh and demanding. He ordered Elora around-"

"Why would you ever think that I had something to do with that bloodsucking bitch?!" he grunted as if

he was deeply offended by my assumption.

"Well…" I smiled nervously, "You are powerful and capable of toying with Sariel without him finding out

it was you."

Draven straightened up in a predictable reaction after feeding his ego. The corners of his lips curved up

into an uncontrollable, sly grin.

"Fine, I'll forgive you," he said casually as he walked back to the bathroom to retrieve the key I'd

dropped on the floor.

I cleared my throat, observing Draven's parade in nothing but a briefly wrapped towel. If I weren't so

flustered by the situation, I would gladly enjoy the view in full admiration. The tribal tattoos that went

across the left side of his chest deliciously underlined his muscles. Some of the tattoos went down in

thorny lines, curving deep into his oblique abdominals and creating an insane urge to look at the V-line

that ended just a little beneath the towel's knot. A highly dangerous view.

He swung the key in his hand and walked towards me. "Is that what you were looking for in my

bathroom?" he asked as if he didn't know.

I raised my eyebrows at him, thinking that I had been teased enough for one day. "What else would I

look for in your bathroom while you were showering?" I scowled.

"Sex." The look on his face didn't give the impression that he was joking.

I burst out into hysteric laughter and abruptly decided that it was time for me to go. I reached for the

key he was holding, but as he moved his hand away, I lost my balance. As I grabbed the key, I

stumbled on my feet and decided to use any means necessary to not fall. I pushed against something

that, luckily, wasn't Draven's chest and jumped back. Once I straightened a half-second later, my whole

body froze in horror. Only then did I realize that the thing I grabbed to regain my balance was Draven's

towel… which was currently lying on the floor.

"God," I gasped, as my eyes landed where his towel should have been.

"Not quite yet, but it gets bigger," Draven smirked and locked his eyes on me with nothing but

confidence in his expression.

I flushed the reddest of red, turned around, and ran towards the door. I wished that I could disappear at

that very second, but I still had this damn door to open. My hands started to shake, which made me

struggle with putting the key into the lock.

"Let me help you with that," Draven breathed against my ear, making me nearly scream.

He walked to stand right behind me, with his shamelessly naked body against my back, leaving only a

tiny space between me and the door. He grabbed my hand with the key, helped me aim at the lock, and

then slowly turned the key around.

"It would have been so much better if you didn't run every time I got close to you," he murmured, with

lips right above the temple of my head.

We both knew that I would run this time as well. I was at my limit, and I couldn't trust myself if I stayed

in his room longer… not to mention his proudly exposing nudity. Once I grabbed the door handle, I

became euphoric as if I was touching the holy grail. I darted before the Draven's door opened entirely

and sprinted into my room with my eyes precautiously closed.

I heard Draven's laughter spreading across the corridor. I assumed my stupid breaking into his room

made his day… or a week. But the worst fact about my actions was that I knew some things would

never be unseen, especially when they're… big. I was certain that the images I had seen that day

would haunt me for close to eternity, and seeing Draven in the next few days would only increase my

humiliation.

An hour later, I was already aware that calling Kanan and telling him everything that had happened had

been another idiotic idea of mine. Not only did he not soothe my pain of embarrassment, but he almost

laughed his head off! I promised that I would make him regret it once we met again, but he only

daringly tossed that he awaited me every day with open arms. Of course, I had forgiven him long

before our call ended. After all, he was my partner in crime, even if I was the only one who suffered the

consequences. Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

After excluding Draven from our suspects' list, we needed a new lead. Kanan promised that we would

interview all the reliable servants inside the Palace, hoping to find any hints. I told him that I would keep

my eyes and ears open just in case I heard about anything that could be JD-related. To keep me

occupied in my, as Kanan named it, boring-werewolf-pack-days, he granted me access to the Grimoard

family's online library, of which I had never known that it existed. He said that there might be some

clues in the noble families' history, and I gladly agreed to look into it. By the end of our call, I became

more composed, shaking off what had happened in Draven's room.

The rest of the day went peacefully without me bumping into Draven, and I even managed to sleep all

night soundly… until 5:30 AM. The decisive knocking at my door stole every ounce of my sleep, and

instead of gentle after-sleep confusion, it almost gave me a heart attack. I jumped out of bed ready to

kill anyone behind that door, but when I opened the door prepared to attack, I met Draven's grin.

"Good morning, beautiful." He handed me a glass filled with something that looked like a protein

milkshake.

I tilted my head to the side, processing why the hell he was at my door at this unfamiliar hour.

He smirked smugly and looked me up and down. "Get dressed. I'm going to test you to see if you are

ready to join our war."
