Breakfast
Breakfast
The knocking on the door woke me up. It wasn't an aggressive bang, but because I had learned to
sleep on constant alert, the sound made me open my eyes right away.
"Who is it?" I asked with a hoarse, sleepy voice.
"It's me… Draven." I heard through the door.
His voice sounded strangely soft, with a hint of nervousness. I crawled out of bed while abruptly
combing the strands of my hair with my fingers. I walked to the door and opened it.
"Do you want something?" I muttered, trying to focus my attention on Draven's face.
The first thing my eyes noted was his fitted tank top, exposing his wide shoulders and beautiful,
massive collarbones. His face was slightly unshaved, leaving a delicate black shade on his cheeks,
jaw, and chin. The strands of his hair were a little messy and wavy, giving him a savage and sexy vibe.
He gave me an amused look, then his gaze slowly moved down my shape, revealing that I was
barefoot and wearing nothing but a black silk knee-length nightdress with thin shoulder straps. Startled,
I hid behind the door, sticking just my head out to see him.
"What do you want, Draven?" I glared at him.
"I want you to eat breakfast with me…" he said, anxiously grinning.
I exhaled deeply, looking for a way to refuse him.
"You can take your time… I'll wait," he muttered, "And I won't force you to wear any weird clothes."
I narrowed my eyes, scanning his face and looking for any hidden catch, but I couldn't find anything out
of the ordinary.
"Fine. Give me twenty minutes," I tossed, rolling my eyes.
"Great. I'll come to get you in twenty," he stated confidently.
I closed the door, uncertain if I did the right thing, but I decided to give it a try. He was the leader of the
pack I was currently living in. It would be only wise to try to be on good terms with him. Besides, I had
to talk with him about the possibility of my joining his warriors in a fight against the Southern Woods
Pack.
I hopped under the shower to wash away the remains of my sleep. Then I put on a girly pink button-up
shirt and a pair of jeans. My make-up ended up putting a gloss, just to moisturize my lips. Finally, I
wrapped my hair in a ponytail. By the time I put down my hairbrush, Draven knocked on my door.
"Hope you're hungry," he grinned while grabbing my hand and leading me towards the stairs.
I thought that he was taking me to the dining room, but we walked the whole length of it without
stopping, and he took me to the kitchen. No one was inside except for us. I glanced at Draven, a bit
confused, as he led me to sit at the kitchen table, right in the middle of the room. Without saying a
word, he quickly stepped to the cupboard and took out two coffee cups, two plates, and two sets of
cutlery, then he placed them all on the table.
"You're not a vegetarian, aren't you?" he asked, smirking.
"Um… no," I replied, bemused by watching him take out vegetables and eggs from the fridge.
"No allergies?" he tossed while turning on the heat under a frying pan.
I shook my head, trying to comprehend what was going on, and he chuckled, seeing me bewildered
watching him. I couldn't take my eyes off of him, moving around the kitchen. He had some serious skills
with knives, and he looked sexy as hell while slicing those veggies and then stirring them in the heated
pan. The fact that I could see his back muscles tense while he worked that pan was a major plus.
"Do you like bacon?" He suddenly turned around.
"What? Um… yeah…" I smiled nervously, certain that he had caught me admiring his body.
He chuckled, pitting a few meat strips on the grill pan. I took a deep breath, scolding myself for my
horny thoughts. It was irritating how my system could have easily ignored the fact that this guy had
almost got me killed recently. My traitorous body was already wet in all the right places just by looking
at Draven in his top, ideally presenting his muscles, and sports pants that couldn't hide a certain bulge
right beneath his waist. I could describe my state as sexual frustration, and I could blame it all for
Sariel. Before him, I was enjoying my happy ignorance of not having a clue what great sex could taste
like, and currently, my insatiability rose with every day without feeling his touch and warmth. My heart
seemed desperate to patch up the emptiness inside it, sending me signals that any man would do.
Fortunately, my brain was still functioning well enough to stop me from throwing myself into the arms of
complete strangers. But… Draven wasn't a complete stranger. Furthermore, he claimed that I was his
mate, his destined one… It made it that much harder to find the right argument for why I shouldn't
succumb to him and give myself a chance to satisfy my needs.
"Coffee?" Draven startled me with another question while putting an omelet, stir-fried vegetables, and
bacon on my plate.
While he was leaning over me, with his chest so close to my face, I found it extremely hard to glue my
eyes onto his face and restrain myself from staring anywhere else.
"Yes… I need caffeine," I smiled faintly and turned my head away as if the stove had instantly taken all
of my interest.
Even though I wasn't looking at him directly, I knew he had a smug smirk on his face.
"Enjoy your food. I'll make coffee," he said slyly, and swiftly grabbed the coffee kettle.
I took a fork and knife but couldn't even stick a single bite piece. Focusing on food was like a mission
impossible. I struggled to show semi-interest while Draven grounded coffee beans and then conjured
up a magical black liquid. I kept looking to the sides, my eyes weirdly roaming around the ceiling and
floor, doing everything aside from looking at him. Unfortunately, he was more than aware of just how
easily he could grasp my attention.
"Milk?" he purred sensually while leaning from behind me to fill my cup with coffee.
I flinched. His voice sent an electric wave through my body. I exhaled silently to regain my composure.
"Soy… if it's not a problem…" I muttered, trying not to look at him.
"No problem at all," he snorted as he went to the fridge, took out the soy milk, and placed it on the
table.
He finally joined me, sitting beside me at the table. He smirked as he took a bite of the omelet he made
while leaning forward to take a closer look at my face.
"You don't like the food?" he asked, noting that I hadn't even touched it yet.
I smiled wryly and shoved a big piece into my mouth. I chewed it hurriedly and swallowed without really
tasting the food.
"It's delicious. Thank you," I said, forming a polite grin.
"If there's anything you don't like, let me know. I want to get to know you, every little thing about you."
His warm smile put me in a daze.
What he said was sincere and simple, and yet I felt like I was going to cry. I couldn't recall Sariel asking
anything about me, not even once. I knew he did research on me, which probably gave him better intel
than I could tell him myself, but it seemed he never needed to know the casual details concerning my
life, like what I liked to eat or drink.
"Are you ok, Lilith?" Draven gently placed his hand on mine.
I felt the warmth of his touch. Only then did I notice his body temperature was much higher than
Sariel's. It was obvious because Draven was an Alpha werewolf, yet it fascinated me. The sensation of
it seemed to be healing my anxieties.
"Yes. Thanks to you."
The words escaped my lips without me realizing their meaning. It wasn't supposed to sound like that! I
smiled awkwardly and wanted to say something else. I wanted to explain that I meant merely him
touching my hand, but his reaction came faster than my mind could process and create the right
sentence…
He leaned in close and placed his lips on mine, gently caressing my skin. I froze. I couldn't move or
breathe. I couldn't think. My mind needed to reboot, fast! Draven used that moment to grab the back of
my head, his lips brushing mine and delicately sucking them. I found myself unable to push him away.
My rationality poked my brain to work, but the rebellious, lustful body silenced every logic within me. I
was supposed to be angry at this guy, not letting him do… whatever it was he was doing!
His strokes became more intense and aggressive. He parted my lips, making way for his tongue. His
hand on the back of my head tangled in my hair, sending shivers through my body. In a natural
reaction, my tongue began reacting to his. I didn't know what I was doing, but I needed this. With every
caress of his tongue and delicious lips, he was building my arousal. As the insanity of my actions
increased, I let out a soft moan…
With the weak sound that I made, Draven's eyes began to burn. I hardly registered him violently
shoving our plates from the table, and in the next moment, he sat me on top of it, parting my legs and
leaning forward while passionately deepening his kiss. One of his hands stroked my back while the
other climbed up my inner thighs. As one of his fingers touched my most sensitive spot through my
jeans, my senses came back in the form of an abrupt wave.
"Stop!" I pushed him back, using all the strength I had.
He stepped back, panting heavily with lust overflowing his eyes. I glanced at him, processing my own
actions even more than his. My whole body trembled frantically as if I had been struck by a high fever.
A mature and sensible person would have said something in this kind of situation, but the part of my
brain responsible for talking was still elsewhere. I jumped off the table and dashed out of the kitchen,
praying that Draven wouldn't follow me. I kept running until I reached my room. I slammed the door and
then leaned against it and touched my lips, still burning from Draven's kiss. One question stormed
across my mind… Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.
