Chapter 40
Chapter 40
While Sandra and Levy were enjoying themselves at the party, Levy surprised Sandra by giving her a golden card. This card was different
from the one her parents had given her; it symbolized a level of power possessed by very few people in the world. Although Sandra had a
similar card, she rarely used it, so she was initially surprised by Levy's gesture. However, it confirmed his identity as the head of the Anthony
family in the capital. Only influential families like the Anthony and Gomez families had access to such cards.
Acting as if she didn't recognize the significance of the golden card, Sandra asked, "What's this? Why are you giving it to me?"
Levy responded, "You're my wife, and you deserve everything I possess. Since you'll be staying in school for some time, it's only fair that you
have access to some money in case of any unforeseen circumstances."
"I know you might say you don't need it, but please consider the image I have to maintain in front of my employees," he added, as if there
were numerous people present. Sandra couldn't help but roll her eyes, thinking, "When did the mysterious head of the Anthony family become
so funny and playful?" She understood that even if she resisted, he would insist, so it was best to save time and accept the card. She knew that NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
she could repay the favor in due time.
They bid their farewells and headed back to their respective dormitories. On the way to their room, Deborah chatted non-stop, expressing her
happiness. "Sister-in-law, I'm so thrilled! It's the first time my brother has helped me with something, and it's all thanks to you."
When Sandra and Deborah entered their room, they found another student already there. The girl appeared to be around twenty or twenty-one,
sitting quietly on her bed and going through her books.
As the girl heard someone entering the room, she looked up to see who it was. When she saw Sandra and Deborah, she seemed surprised but
quickly composed herself. They greeted her and proceeded with their night routine, feeling exhausted after a long day. The girl greeted them
back and introduced herself, "Hello, roommates. My name is Natasha Davidson, and I'm studying medicine. I've been here since the first
semester. Are you new here?"
Upon hearing Natasha introduce herself, Sandra and Deborah paused their activities and looked at her again. She seemed friendly and easily
intimidated. They introduced themselves, apologizing for their lack of manners. Deborah said, "I'm Deborah Anthony, and this is my sister-in-
law Sandra Anthony. We are also studying medicine, and we just joined this semester."
Upon hearing that Sandra and Deborah were studying medicine, Natasha felt immense happiness. Since joining the university, she had
struggled to make friends, and many students in Class A didn't want to associate with her. She had often been subjected to bullying, which had
affected her grades. She had lived alone in the dormitory for the past semester, as her fellow students didn't want to share the same space with
her. That's why she was surprised and relieved to find someone willing to be her roommate. She felt a mix of happiness and fear, worried that
they might bully her and make her peaceful life miserable.
Sandra, sensing Natasha's concerns, reassured her, saying, "You don't need to be scared of us. We are not your enemies. Perhaps we can be
friends. Which class are you studying in?" Deborah added.
Despite coming from a wealthy family and having an influential brother, Deborah had always treated everyone equally, unless they crossed
her boundaries. Seeing Sandra and Deborah talking to Natasha with genuine happiness, Natasha smiled back, this time from the bottom of her
heart. "I'm currently in Class F, although I studied in Class A last semester. I just wanted some peace," she replied.
Deborah asked if Natasha had been staying alone in the room. Natasha nodded, explaining, "Many students don't want to associate with me
because I come from a middle-class family." Her face revealed a hint of hurt.
Deborah reassured her, saying, "Don't worry. Now you have us as roommates and classmates. Let's be friends." She reached for her phone to
exchange numbers.
Sandra observed their interaction, wondering how Deborah managed to thrive in the Anthony family with her warm personality. Sandra also
exchanged numbers with them and went to the bathroom to complete her nightly routine.
Deborah and Natasha continued talking, sharing stories about school life. Deborah assured Natasha not to worry about Sandra, describing her
as a nice person who preferred a quieter environment.
As Sandra emerged from the bathroom, Deborah realized she hadn't prepared anything for bed yet. She quickly retrieved her pajamas and
rushed into the bathroom.
Seeing Deborah's hurried actions, Sandra chuckled. Natasha couldn't help but comment, "You look beautiful when you smile." Sandra simply
replied, "Thank you," returning to her usual aloofness, though less intimidating.
