Chapter 552 Enlightenment
Hanging up the phone, Faye briefly explained to Colin and walked out of the venue to meet Rebecca
who was wearing a coat outside and a black plunge dress.
Seeing Faye, she stepped forward, shivering with cold.
Faye asked, "Are you cold?"
Rebecca lifted her coat to reveal her straight legs and said, "I did not wear socks."
Faye glanced down and couldn't help laughing, "You came here like this?"
Rebecca nodded and deliberately said, "Yes! To save money, I even did not turn on the heating in the
car."
Faye smiled, "Your level of physical fitness is high."
She was afraid Rebecca would catch a cold, so she quickly led her into the venue.
After entering the door, she helped her take off her coat, handed it to the waiter, and smiled, "Thank
you."
The waiter smiled, "Mrs. Farrell, you're welcome."
The temperature in the venue had been specially adjusted to a proper degree because many actresses
would show their dresses.
While walking toward the front row, Faye asked with a smile, "Where's the Abbot?"
Rebecca answered, "I don't know. He promised he would go to my home to pick me up. But this
afternoon, he called me and said he had to deal with something urgent in the company first. So, he
asked me to come over alone."
Faye grinned, "You two are in frequent contact."
Rebecca pouted, "It is because Camila and I are friends now."
Faye said, "I will wait and see how long you two can act."
Hearing this, Rebecca turned to look at her and asked jokingly, "If I date Abbot, what will you and Colin
think?"
Faye replied, "Don't worry. We will give you double gifts at your wedding."
Rebecca coughed in embarrassment and said, "I'm not talking about wedding gifts!"
Faye teased, "Fine! If you get married, we will give only one gift."
Hearing this, Rebecca immediately showed a serious expression and said, "That is unacceptable."
Then, she touched the tip of her nose with a hand and said, "I mean, if I break with Abbot because I
find we're not suitable, will you and Colin..."
Seeing her intending to speak but stopping on a second thought, Faye raised her eyebrows and asked, Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.
"Will the breakup of you two affect my relationship with Colin?"
Rebecca said, "I don't think so."
Faye chuckled, "Then, your breakup will have nothing to do with us!"
Hearing this, Rebecca suddenly had enlightenment, so she pinched Faye's arm hard, and then the
latter gasped in pain.
Seeing this, Rebecca smirked, rubbed Faye's arm, and said in a deep voice, "Your words woke me up."
Faye grinned, "Are you ready to take the initiative?"
Rebecca blinked and said, "Maybe."
Faye smiled, "I think you two should directly express your feelings to each other. It has been a long
time."
Rebecca said, "No! As the old saying goes, love is most beautiful when it's ambiguous."
Faye said with a half-smile, "Is that an old saying? Why haven't I heard of it?"
Rebecca lied calmly, "It is an old saying among the Blacks."
Soon, they arrived at the front row. When Rebecca took her seat, she waved at Colin to say hello.
Colin nodded slightly and smiled, "Where's Abbot?"
Rebecca replied truthfully, "I don't know. He said something happened to the company."
Colin showed a smiled on his thin lips and said, "He deserves to be single."
Rebecca understood his implication, but she didn't reply. She changed the topic and asked, "Why did a
film festival invite Abbot?"
Faye explained, "Because he has invested in several award-winning films."
Rebecca asked, "He still invests in films?"
Colin teased, "Yes, money is all he has after all."
Colin and Faye echoed with each other, improving Abbot's image a lot in Rebecca's heart.
Rebecca was straightforward and could barely hide her thoughts, so she said with emotion, "The image
of Abbot in my heart is greatly improved."
Colin sneered, "Because of his money?"
Rebecca tilted her head to look at Colin, with Faye in between.
She then nudged Faye with her elbow and said, "Why is your husband so mean? Punish him! I am
willing to pay you money."
Faye pursed her lips and smiled, "It's rare that you are willing to spend money on such a thing."
Rebecca was speechless, wondering whether she was complimenting or taking a dig at her.
There were many handsome men and beautiful women on occasions like film festivals.
Looking around, Rebecca found it eye-pleasing.
She chatted with Faye for a while, then began to glance around again, and whispered, "It's hard to
control yourselves in such a working environment. You and Colin are excellent."
Before Faye could answer, a person sat down beside Rebecca. When Rebecca turned her head, she
found it was Abbot who was late.
After Abbot took his seat, he tugged at his tie. When he saw her long plunge dress, his eyes darkened.
Sensing his gaze, Rebecca covered her chest with her hand.
Seeing this, Abbot looked away, took off his jacket, and stuffed it into her arms.
Rebecca raised an eyebrow and asked, "Why?"
Abbot said, "Why are you dressed like this? Are you going on stage to receive an award?"
