Mated to my sister’s ugly mate

Shadow didn’t know how hilarious her words were. Regardless, Dylan suddenly burst into uproarious laughter.

Dylan was a hotshot in the entertainment industry. Wherever he went, there was no shortage of paparazzi.

Shadow didn’t want to accidentally run into him, even if it was just a coincidence. She feared that the reporters would capture photos of her.

Unfortunately, Dylan had a keen memory. He even took the initiative to greet her the next two times he spotted her.

If the paparazzi snapped pictures of her, she would undoubtedly be in the headlines once again.

She had even concocted a headline in her mind.

For instance, Young Madame Lance’s secret rendezvous with an entertainment big shot.

Something of that sort.

The mere thought of it sent shivers down her spine.

Thus, Shadow refrained from saying anything more to Dylan. She politely smiled. “I have to attend to something, so I shall bid you farewell.”

“Goodbye. Until we meet again.” Dylan’s eyes flickered with understanding. His demeanor remained gentle.

This made Shadow slightly uneasy. She hastened her departure.

Dylan turned around, witnessing Shadow’s figure vanish into thin air, before resuming his stride.

His assistant behind him suddenly spoke up, “Brother Dylan, what’s the connection between that woman and Young Master Lance? I believe I spotted her with Young Master Lanceat Golden Fountain that day.”

“Really? I cannot say for certain.” Dylan walked in front, his head bowed. The smile on his face disappeared. No one could decipher his thoughts.

Dylan’s purpose in coming here today was primarily to prepare for his next film.

The new film he had taken on was a suspenseful thriller. He portrayed a psychologist, hence his visit to the psychological clinic today for research.

As soon as the two of them entered, Alpha Kilian and Frank appeared in the corridor behind them.

Alpha Kilian observed the spot where Dylan and Shadow conversed.

Frank gazed at Alpha Kilian, wanting to say something, yet refrained from doing so.

Dylan did not have much time, so he did not linger in the psychologist’s domain for long.

The moment he exited, he caught sight of Alpha Kilian standing in the corridor.

He looked taken aback. “Alpha Kilian? What brings you here?”

In utter realization, he continued, “You came with Shadow.”This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

Alpha Kilian did not utter a word. He raised his hand, gesturing for Frank to depart.

When Frank turned to leave, Dylan’s assistant also tactfully took his leave.

In the vacant corridor, only the two of them remained.

Alpha Kilian’s countenance appeared slightly cold, although it differed from his indifference toward strangers.

He leveled his gaze at Dylan. “Dylan, I had previously warned you that she is Shadow.”

“I am aware that she is Shadow. Her name is quite fascinating.” Dylan’s smile remained unchanged, exuding gentleness.

Alpha Kilian narrowed his eyes and spoke icily. “Shadow bears a striking resemblance to Jasmine, but she is not Jasmine.”

Dylan’s gentle expression finally crumbled. Unable to maintain his composure, he widened his eyes and shouted, “Shut your mouth!”

Alpha Kilian lapsed into silence, refraining from any further speech.

After some time, Dylan managed to regain his composure, his usual gentleness returning to his face.

“Alpha Kilian, I truly merely coincidentally bumped into Shadow.” He regarded Alpha Kilian, assessing him. “You seem rather anxious about her.”

Alpha Kilian squinted his eyes, his tone turning cold. “She is my wife.”

“Why did you utilize my brother’s name to deceive Shadow?” Dylan sounded nonchalant, but soon enough, he chuckled again. “If Nick knew, he would demand his fee.”

Alpha Kilian peered deeply into Dylan’s eyes, lowering his voice. “Dylan, Jasmine has been absent for quite some time now. It’s time for you to move on.”

Upon finishing his words, Alpha Kilian did not cast a glance at Dylan’s sudden change in expression and strode away.

Shadow exited the psychological treatment room, her thoughts lingering on Alpha Kilian as she strolled leisurely.

A car horn blared from behind her.

Why were people so audacious nowadays? She had already positioned herself at the side of the road, yet they continued to honk their horns relentlessly, signaling for her to clear a path.

She cast an irritated gaze over her shoulder. The black car parked directly behind her. The window was half-opened, revealing the handsome and intimidating face of Alpha Dominic.

“Why is he here?”

Though puzzled, she did not hesitate. She opened the door and climbed into the car.

Before she could even utter a word, Alpha Kilian spoke. “Don’t bother asking why I’m here. Such a question is dim-witted.”

Shadow hadn’t even finished her sentence.

She had no desire to say anything.

Alpha Kilian turned his head to face her. His expression appeared languid. “Get in the car.”

Frank, seated in the driver’s seat, couldn’t help but laugh upon hearing their exchange.

Yet, in an instant, he saw Alpha Kilian shoot him a frigid glare through the rearview mirror, rendering him silent.

Shadow, having just entered the vehicle, failed to recognize that Frank was behind the wheel. “Frank, did your young master not go out today?”

Frank silently regarded Alpha Kilian, who sat in the backseat. He shook his head. “No.”

Shadow nodded in response. By now, she was already contemplating what she could cook for Alpha Kilian upon returning home for lunch.

Pondering over it, she peered at “Alpha Dominic”.

“What are you doing?” Alpha Kilian turned to face her expressionlessly.

To be abruptly scrutinized by “Alpha Dominic” was indeed terrifying.

Shadow inched backward. “Just tell me honestly, what does your brother enjoy eating?”

Shadow donned a white down jacket that day. Her hair was tied up in a ponytail. Her countenance remained fair and delicate. She emanated an aura of simplicity and innocence, akin to a young girl yet to experience the complexities of the world.

With her beautiful and bright feline eyes, she gazed at him, awaiting his response.

Alpha Kilian reached forward, loosening his tie. His voice emerged huskier than before. “Why do you concern yourself so much with him?”

“I am his wife. If I don’t take an interest, should I take an interest in you instead?” Shadow couldn’t help but shoot him a glare when she recollected what “Alpha Dominic” had done to her in the past.

“Alpha Dominic” appeared unfazed. He continued, “Given our cousin’s condition, you cannot fulfill the duties of a normal married couple by being intimate with him. He may not even be able to inherit the Lance Group. You’ve never even met him before. Why are you chasing after him like this?”

Shadow failed to perceive the sarcasm in Alpha Dominic’s tone. Instead, his words appeared more inquisitive.

Shadow pursed her lips. Rarely in a composed and willing manner, she sought to clarify matters for him.

“Do you truly want to know why?” Shadow pondered briefly before earnestly answering, “Perhaps it’s a matter of responsibility. Although I was coerced by my mother to marry your cousin, if I had defied her to the death on that day, she wouldn’t have been able to do anything to me. Seeing as I did marry your cousin, I bear the responsibility of being a wife. Furthermore…”

Shadow paused, her voice teeming with near-sighs. “Throughout these years, the people of Herton City have regarded Alpha Kilian’s situation as an after-meal topic. He has become the laughing stock in front of society. Yet, he didn’t wish to end up this way. He is merely a victim. More innocent than anyone.”
