Married to the Boss: A Love in Disguise Chapter 39
“Marie, you can’t blame me for this.” Arty was afraid of old Mrs. Hills the most. He picked up his coat and ran away. When he walked to the door, he turned around and said, “Adam, I’m going abroad tomorrow. I can’t drink with you on your birthday. But I’ve prepared a very special gift for you. I’ll ask someone to bring it to you.”
“No, thanks.” Adam turned around and went upstairs. Marie stopped Adam, “Adam, can I ask you a question?”
Adam stopped and said, “Just ask.”
“Are you really going to divorce Mrs. Hills? Aren’t you going to take her home?” Marie
asked.
“There won’t be any Mrs. Hills in this house. Don’t think about it anymore.” As soon as Adam finished speaking, he received a piece of news about a car accident on his mobile phone.
Adam was about to cancel the notice when he saw the familiar face on the cover. Then
he hurriedly picked up the car key and rushed out anxiously.
Marie was left there, confused.
Adam drove as fast as he could to Red Pine Hospital and found Lumma’s ward according
to the address reported on the news.
As soon as he walked to the door of the ward, he heard Lumma’s soft and cute voice. “Harry, I just got a bruise. Don’t worry.”
Adam looked up from the small window on the door and saw Lumma lying on the bed. A man sat beside the bed. The man put one hand on Lumma’s forehead and gently asked her, “Are you really alright?”
“Let me get out of bed and show you I’m really fine.” Lumma was about to get up, but
the man stopped her with one hand.
“You might be fine, but you still have to stay in the hospital for at least one night. You
must listen to me.” The man turned his back to the door, and Adam couldn’t see his
face.

All of a sudden, Adam had a strong impulse to break in and see who the man Lumma loved so much was. Was that man really so handsome that Lumma just paid all her
attention to him?
“Sir, who are you looking for?” A nurse interrupted Adam. Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
Adam glanced at the nurse, turned around, and walked out.
He came to the parking lot, lit a cigarette, and took a drag. Suddenly, he sneered.
