“Oh, I didn’t know it was you.”
Anderson apologized awkwardly.
“It’s okay boss, I understand.”
Bob replied over the phone.
“Why the heck are you with Alexa’s phone though?”
Anderson questioned.
“I found it at the back seat boss. Seems like she forgot it here.”
Bob answered.
‘That troublesome bitch!’
Anderson cussed in his mind.
‘A bitch that you love though..’
His mind completed for him.
‘Common, shut the fvck up!’
Anderson yelled inside, blocking off any further conversations with his subconscious.
“Boss??”
‘Because you know I’m saying the damn truth?’
His mind pressed on.
‘Oh geez! can’t you see this isn’t the right time for this?? Alexa’s gone missing!’
Anderson mind screamed.
“Boss… ”
‘Oh yeah… I completely forgot.’
His mind replied.
“Are you still there boss? ”
‘Fool!’
Anderson breathed.
‘Same to you..’
Anderson’s subconscious was able to say before Anderson blocked him off.
“Anderson!”
Bob screamed over the phone, pulling Anderson back to reality.
“Yes? What’s it?”
Anderson asked, now realizing he was still on the phone with Bob.
“You just blacked out over the phone and wasn’t speaking. ”
Bob explained.
“Oh, that. I was just thinking about something. ”
Anderson said before peering into his wrist watch once again and gasped silently. It was 2. 25 already.
“Alright. So the miss is missing?”
Bob asked.
“How did you know that?”Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org
Anderson asked back, completely ignoring Bob’s question.
“Well, pretty much the whole thing you said thinking it was the miss. ”
Bob answered.
“Oh…”
“Yeah boss. But how could she be missing? I dropped her off at the court myself.”
Bob asked confused.
“Well, I’m as confused as you are right now. She’s not here, and I can’t see her anywhere. ”
Anderson replied frustrated.
“Since you know that already, I want to conduct a search for her.”
“I was about going back to the estate, but I’ll come back right away.”
Bob said.
“All that being said and done, hurry up.”
Anderson instructed.
“Alright.”
Bob said and waited till Anderson cut the call as it was very disrespectful for him to cut the call when it was Anderson who called.
He didn’t have to wait three seconds before Anderson cut the call and he reared the engine back to life, and onto the road once again.
Anderson stood up from the bench, no longer eager to sit around anymore and raised his head as soon as he was standing straight.
The sight that hit his eyes immediately he raised his head up and turned was enough to tear his heart into different pieces.
“Alexa! ”
Anderson looked at the figure in front of him in fleeting horror. He quickly ran up to her and held her in his arms.
Her eyes looked faint, her hair was rough, her dress was untouched, but her face looked beat up.
Instantly, rage filled him.
“Who did this to you?”
Anderson breathed against her face.
“I.. I..”
Alexa stuttered painfully.
“Hair… My hair…”
She managed to say after about 5 seconds.
“Your hair did all this to you?”
Anderson asked, sarcasm intended.
Alexa scoffed weakly.
Even in this state that she was in, he still made it a point of duty to be sarcastic.
She had no strength for any argument, so she just placed her hand on her roughed hair to get something out, but her hand slipped away from her silk hair and down her side.
Anderson got the message clear now.
There was something in Alexa’s hair and she obviously wanted him to get it out… Or maybe not.
He looked up from her face to her hair and it was then he noticed that her bun was a bit loose and some of her hair locks were misplaced.
Strangely, he spotted something under the loose hair bun and placed his hand on her hair to get what was there, but Alexa started wiggling in his arm, trying to move away from him.
Anderson clasped his arm around her tighter.
“Stay still!”
He ordered, and it seemed to work like a drug because she stilled instantly.
He gave her a brief look before continuing with what he was doing earlier.
He tugged at the thing, which felt like paper, trying to remove it from Alexa’s hair at first, but when she winced, he knew he was hurting her hair, which in turn was hurting her… So he stopped applying force.
His fingers moved onto the bun, and expertly he untied the bun and let Alexa’s hair fall loose.
After smiling at the fact that he got loose the bun, he moved his mind back to the black stuff still locked in between some of Alexa’s hair.
He pulled at the black stuff, and this time, it came off easily without hurting Alexa’s hair.
Just like he suspected, it was paper, and not just any paper… It was a folded letter.
“What’s this?”
Anderson asked, to no one in particular.
“You’re the one who got it out, why the fvck are you asking me?”
“Why do you always feel like I direct my every word to you? I wasn’t directing the question to you.”
Anderson said, his eyes dark in undiluted anger.
“As if you don’t talk me down every single chance you get.”
Alexa muttered silently.
But not so silent Anderson couldn’t hear.
He heard her, but chose to ignore her and divert his attention to the paper in his hand.
‘Hey, business mogul. Remember me?
It’s Peter, Man. Still don’t remember?
Well, you should… Or what I did to your
Fiancée won’t end here.
From: Peter…
Your dearest dead friend.’
“This is from Peter?”
Anderson asked in shock.
He was in fact, short of words.
“Peter? Who’s Peter??”
“Peter.”
Anderson breathed.
Alexa looked up at him.
“Is that his name?”
She asked
“If you mean the guy who stuck this letter in your hair, then YES.”
Anderson replied.
“How can an evil person bear such great name?”
“Because his parents named him that?”
Anderson asked back, sarcastically.
“That same sarcasm.”
Alexa snorted and looked away, facing the other side.
