Chapter 37
Shelmaine casually accepted the business card. She planned to claim her insurance, so there was no need to trouble the luxury car’s owner. Furthermore, he was very cooperative,
there weren’t any issues.
When Shelmalne finally got home after settling the matters with her car, it was 11:00 pm. After taking a shower and getting some work done, it was 1:00 am, and she finally prepared for bed.
Ever since Shelmaine had gotten pregnant, her sleep quality improved, but everything else was bad, even more so when she experienced a car accident at night.
Bad things happened to her one after another, as if they were fated to happen.
Shelimalne wondered if she should go to church and pray, just so that she could feel more at peace. Eventually, she drifted into sleep with her thoughts.
The next morning, shelmaine was awoken by Jennifer’s call. When she saw the caller ID, she had a bad feeling, but she still answered the call.
“Shemaine, have you spoken to your ex–husband?”
“What’s wrong?
Shelmine sat up immediately. She knew something had gone wrong
“I don’t know how your conversation with your ex–husband went, but I told you. It’s best if you reach a mutual agreement with him, otherwise it would be disadvantageous for us We can’t fight them at all”
Jennifer sounded grim, and that added to Shelmaine’s bad gut feeling
“Early this morning, somebody came to investigate the studio’s fire safety facilities, claiming that they weren’t up to standards. 1 didn’t think much of it, but I just received a text from Dora about wanting to resign. Did you know about that?
“I thought they were separate matters, but after thinking about it, it felt off. We just checked our fire safety facilities last month, so it wouldn’t have to be updated so soon.
“Also, Dora has been very stable with us, so why would she resign suddenly? I asked her, and she told me that somebody threatened her, telling her not to work with us Otherwise, they would give her a reason not to.!!!
Hearing that, shelmaine understood that all this must have been related to Samuel. She realized that they were not giving her anyway out. Even if it weren’t Samuel, it would’ve been Eliana–and Samuel was the cause of it all.
Shelmaine said to Jennifer, “I’m sorry, L..”
“Don’t apologize to me, Shelmaine. If this keeps up, the studio will eventually close down. Because of Felicity, we’ve already experienced a big loss and lost many customers. Our reputation was damaged too. Even if we didn’t do anything, it’s still our fault”
“I’m responsible for this, and I will make up for it,” Shelmaine said sincerely.
Jennider said, “I’m not blaming you. I know it was out of your control, that you offended somebody. But I don’t think your relationship with Samuel is that bad, is it? You should talk to him about iL”This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
“I understand. I’ll talk to him about it.”\\
Shemaine had no choice but to reach out to Samuel. After getting off the call with Jennifer, Shelmaine immediately called Samuel, who answered quickly
After confirming that it was Samuel, Shelmaine said, “It’s Shelmaine”
He said, “I know, What’s up?”
“Are you free today? I have to talk to you about something,”
“I’m not free today.”
“When
are you free, then?
“What do you need from me?”
Shelmaine paused, then continued, “If you can’t meet up, we can talk over the phone.”
She took a deep breath and said, “Yesterday, your mom came to me and told me that she hoped I would get an abortion.”
It seemed that Samuel did not know of this
“Samuell, I never planned to take advantage of the baby, nor do I have plans to remarry you, in the three years of our marriage, I’ve never wronged you can you please just let ine Love my life?
