Chapter 380 Did You Betray Me
Chapter 380 Did You Betray Me
Julie never expected that Noah would suddenly ask her out. It was too early in the morning and she
was still at home. She didn't even have any idea of what Noah was about to say.
Although she was nervous, Julie also noticed how Noah seemed a bit different that day.
Noah had never contacted her since he left her home that day. So what was all the fuss about now?
Why did he suddenly decide to call her?
Having known Noah for a long time, Julie was sure that this was something that Noah wouldn't do
normally, unless he had something to gain from it.
Suddenly, she thought of something and made a call in a hurry.
At the same time, somewhere else, Rainer's cellphone rang.
"Mr. Terence, it's Julie!"
Rainer was the one in charge of communicating with Julie. He immediately walked to Terence, who had
just walked out of the bathroom and handed him the phone.
"Hello," said Terence.
"Mr. Terence, I'm Julie. Noah just called me out of the blue and said that he wants to talk to me about
something very important. I wonder if he knows something."
Julie's voice trembled anxiously, since she knew that Noah hated betrayal the most. She was afraid
that Noah would never forgive her if he found out that she had helped Terence with his scheme.
Hearing Julie's worried voice, Terence narrowed his eyes and said, "Don't be nervous. He has no
evidence. Without proof, it's all just his speculation. As long as you admit to nothing and insist that you
don't know anything about that night, he won't do anything to you."
"But... But Mr. Terence, Noah is a very cautious man and there is nothing in this world that can be kept
hidden from him. What should I do if he forces me to tell the truth?"
Panic slowly appeared all over Julie's face as she spoke. She had been Noah's girlfriend for years. She
knew how cruel Noah could get once he was extremely angry.
Suffice it to say, she was really shaken up!
"There is no point regretting something you have already done, Julie. Now your last resort is to insist
that you don't know anything.
Just remember that your love for Noah is your biggest bargaining chip. After all, that's what he lacks
the most. Otherwise, he wouldn't have stayed at your home and had sex with you that night. Do you
get me?"
Terence said softly and slowly.
As a matter of fact, Terence was actually the one who told Julie about Noah's whereabouts that night.
Otherwise, how on earth would Julie know that Noah was in a bar? There was no way the both of them
had coincidentally met there.
Julie took a deep breath and said, "I know what I should do, Mr. Terence. But I hope you can mentally
prepare yourself for what's to come. I know for fact that he has already found something since he went
through the trouble of finding me."
"Thank you for your concern. I will take care of everything. Don't worry," Terence insisted.
He handed his cellphone to Rainer after that but then his handsome face hardened little by little, until
he was clenching his jaw.
"Rainer, get ready to fly to HA City now," he ordered.
He knew that Noah was not one to be so easily deceived but he didn't expect that Noah would find the
truth so quickly. He had always thought of Noah as a competitive rival. As a matter of fact, he wouldn't
even think that Noah was worth the attention if Noah wasn't as wise.
In HA City.
Someone knocked on the door not long after Julie hung the phone up. Panicking to the hilt, she went to
the kitchen and grabbed a glass of water. She drank it down and took a deep breath. It was only after
calming down that she moved to open the door.
"Hey, Noah! What's the matter? Why are you here so early in the morning?" Julie asked.
Glancing at Julie, who seemed to know nothing, Noah stepped into the house and just shrugged his
shoulders.
"Nothing. I just wanted to see you,"
Noah said expressionlessly. He then closed the door behind him casually.
"Have you eaten breakfast yet? If you haven't then I can cook something for you."
Julie's voice might have come out calmly but her heart was actually trembling.
"No. I just came to ask you two questions." Not even stepping further than he needed to, Noah just
stood next to the door and lit a cigarette. He paused for a while and then looked at the woman before
him.
"Were you in an underground restaurant about two months ago, Julie? I have a feeling that you know
what I'm talking about. There is only one underground restaurant in HA City. More so, we've been there
twice before."
Julie paused for a moment and then smiled in embarrassment. "What are you talking about, Noah?
Why are you suddenly asking me this question?
You see, I may not remember where I was two months ago but I can assure you that I haven't been to
that restaurant for a while now. What's wrong, Noah?"
He responded with no words, but only a piercing glare.
Julie felt even more uncomfortable and guilty. She had been around him for several years but she
never dared to lie to him or cheat him.
This was the very first time and it was all because she had no choice. Given the chance again, she
would surely agree to lie and make love to him. NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
She was in the middle of her thoughts when Noah suddenly grabbed her throat with one hand.
Noah used the only hand that wasn't holding a cigarette to attack the unsuspecting woman. His deep
eyes assumed a more ghastly hue. "Julie, I'm going to ask you one more time. Were you at the
underground restaurant two months ago?"
"Noah..."
Julie grabbed his hand around her neck and shook her head in horror. She muttered, "No, no!"
"Do you seriously think that you can fool me, Julie? I've been with you long enough to know that the
one who had sex with me that night was you, even without the lights on."
Noah glared at her and spoke in a suppressed tone. "Tell me! Are you scheming with Terence to
deceive me?"
"Noah, Noah... Calm down..."
Julie was out of breath, desperately struggling to get out his grip.
"Julie, I'll ask you one last time! Are you the woman who made love to me that night?" Noah roared.
He pushed her to the wall causing her head to reel sickeningly as it slamed into the wall behind her.
The fire in his eyes spoke of the anger inside him as he glared at Julie whose face was turning paler by
the second.
Tears flowed from Julie's eyes as she looked at him helplessly.
The words burst out of her mouth at their own accord. "Yes, it was me! Go ahead and kill me now! I am
not afraid to die anyway!"
The moment she confessed the truth, Noah released her throat, but only to grab her by the shoulders
and press her against the wall with both hands. "So, you have betrayed me too.
Why are you helping another man to deceive me, Julie?" Noah shouted in disbelief.
Julie shook her head.
"No, I did not betray you! My only fault is that I love you too much! Believe me, Noah. Even if I wasn't
the one there with you, it would have been another woman! I couldn't let you sleep with another
woman!
I just couldn't do that! I can't! So I agreed to help Terence!"
Julie stared at him through tear-soaked eyes as her face turned deathly still.
She wept and said, "Noah, I know you've already sentenced my love to death but even though I'm
condemned, I still can't stop loving you! I can't stop wishing for the day when you'll look at me again,
even just a glance.
It's fine if you don't love me. You are free to love Carla as much as you want to!
But you cannot stop my heart from beating for the one I love. Do you know how painful it was for me to
be a substitute woman just to be close to you again?
I can't even close my eyes to sleep peacefully. I have to take a cold bath each night to calm myself and
numb the pain!"
Noah looked at her with pity as she cried desperately. The hatred that was there in his heart a while
ago had faded.
"Noah, if you really find it difficult to forgive me because I betrayed you, then so be it. You don't need to
bother punishing me. I'm going to do it for you. I'm going to drown myself in the river now. Will that
make you feel better?"
Julie said suddenly and she pushed his hand away.
In complete disregard of her tears, she climbed up from the ground, opened the door, rushed out
without turning back!
