Chapter 500
Chapter 500 Alpha's Date *Selena*
As our gazes locked, a silent battle of wills unfolded. The air between us crackled with an electric tension, mirroring the intensity I had felt during our very first encounter. His piercing, icy stare bore into my soul, unyielding and unwavering.
"Are you suggesting that I should confine myself to the confines of the kitchen, my every move dictated by reports on the happenings in this pack house?" His voice resonated with authority, tinged with a hint of pride that shone in his eyes like polished steel. "As a King, I cannot be omnipresent, but I have entrusted loyal individuals who assist me in the efficient management of my pack," he declared, his tone laced with the weight of his royal responsibility. A flicker of amusement danced in my eyes as I listened to his self-assured proclamation.
"Yes, you are a King, a ruler of great stature," my tone mocked, relishing the opportunity to challenge his ego. "But it seems beneath your grand persona to engage in conversations with low-ranking members of your pack, doesn't it?" I tilted my head slightly, a mischievous smile playing at the corner of my lips. The satisfaction washed over me as I witnessed a flicker of annoyance cloud his features.
"During my time here, I held weekly meetings," I stated firmly, my voice steady and resolute. "I made it a point to keep track of each rank's status, to understand the challenges they faced. I ensured that everything ran smoothly and that every member of the pack house thrived under my care," I asserted, lifting my chin with pride.
Instead of launching a counterattack, he challenged me with a single, enigmatic question. "Then who told you to leave?" His response surprised me.
"I... I had to. I couldn't stay in your pack after your rejection," I murmured meekly, my voice barely audible as I stared at the ground, avoiding his piercing gaze.
I inhaled sharply, sensing his presence shifting closer, his presence almost suffocating.
"There is no certain rule that, after rejection, a Luna has to leave," he asserted, his voice laced with authority, breaking through the tension. But he seemed to forget that I was no longer his Luna after his rejection.
"I could not live with the murderer of my family," I snapped as anger surged within me.
"Still, you are here, standing before me in my pack house," he snorted, his voice laced with a hint of mockery. His words stung like a thousand thorns, tearing at the wounds I had tried so desperately to heal.
"I am helpless. Otherwise, I would never have returned to this pack," I bit out through gritted teeth, the fury continuing to grow through my veins.noveldrama
How dare he mock me, belittle my pain and suffering?
"Helpless?! Huh!" he huffed, a mocking laugh escaping his lips. The sound grated on my ears, igniting a fire deep within me
Our angry gazes locked, the challenging tension between us crackling in the air like an electric storm. The room seemed to shrink, suffocating us in its stifling atmosphere. I wasn't sure how long it would continue like this until Avery's irked tone snapped us out of it. "What's going on here?" We turned and found Avery fuming with anger.
I instinctively took a step away from Zander.
"I was checking on your personal butler. She had burned her hand. How can you let her make breakfast for you?" Zander narrowed his eyes as he demanded an answer from his fiancee. "Why are you so concerned about her?" Avery bit out angrily.
"I am concerned about every single member of my pack, and DON'T FUCKING QUESTION ME AGAIN!" Zander growled, his voice filled with raw, primal anger as his eyes turned red with rage.
"I... I am s... sorry, Zander," she stammered, fear creeping into her voice. She then turned towards me. "Selena, why are you here? You could have asked someone else to make breakfast for me today," she said, smiling softly. Such a good actress she was!
"I am fine, Luna Avery," I said, bowing my head slightly. "Don't worry about me. I can work properly," I assured her, as I could not sit all day.
"Are you sure? Listen, if you are hurt, you can tell another omega to perform your duty for today," she suggested.
I met her gaze with unwavering confidence, despite the lingering pain from my burn. "No need, Luna Avery. I am perfectly fine and capable of fulfilling my duties," I affirmed firmly.
This minor burn paled in comparison to the pain I had endured. This minor burn could not stop me from doing my job.
"Okay! Then will you organize a date night for Zander and me tonight at Lakeside?" she smirked, cocking her head to the side. There she was, returning to her true cunning self! I wanted to snort mockingly but stopped myself.
From the corner of my eyes I saw Zander furrowed.
"Since you came back, we did not get time together as you were always busy. So, tonight you will only be mine, and I don't want to listen to any of your work excuses," Avery hooked her arms around Zander's neck, whispering sensually and leaning on him. "Alright, Avery!" He agreed so quickly. "Now, excuse me," he untangled her arms from his neck. "I'll go shower," he said coldly before jogging upstairs.
Avery grinned, looking at me.
"Can you organize a very romantic date night for us?" she asked with a sly smile. "I mean a perfect date night where Zander and I will be all alone, with no one else around."
"It would be my pleasure to arrange a romantic evening for the King and future Queen," I replied with a detached smile.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting an orange glow across the tranquil lake, I carefully arranged the table adorned with a delicate white silk tablecloth and flickering candles. The cold breeze made candles
flicker in
delicate holders, their warm glow casting dancing shadows upon the surface of the lake. The natural aroma of pine and earth floated in the air, setting the mood for a romantic evening. Freshly picked wildflowers adorned the tabletop, filling the atmosphere with a sweet fragrance. Soft music played in the background, further enhancing the ambiance of the night. This was the perfect setting for a cozy dinner date.
Glancing at the meticulously arranged table, I sighed in relief. Everything seemed perfect for Zander and Avery's date.
I found myself absentmindedly running my hand over the tablecloth, trying to smooth out any invisible lines as I felt a nervousness creeping up on me that I couldn't shake off.
Despite my resistance, I couldn't help but feel uneasy as I looked around this place exclusively reserved for the royals' private celebrations.
Alpha King arrived with his future
Luna, Avery, clinging to his side as if
pasted by an unseen glue. Avery's outfit for the night was so bold - a red sleeveless dress adorned tie straps and a flat neckline.
dress was so tight that her Themet
breasts
were literally spilling out of it, and it was so short that it left little to the imagination. She indeed dressed to please Zander and I remembered very well that he very much liked that kind of little sultry dress.
Again a strange sensation pricked at my heart and I tried not to wince.
No other staff was there, only me to serve them to make their date night private and intimate, and I was doing my best not to look at them and roll my eyes.
My job was to escort them to their table. Avery had already decided on the food and wine. They sat across from each other. I served them as per prior instructions to make sure they got everything they wanted.
"Anything else?!" I asked, bowing slightly, maintaining my esteem, and avoiding looking at them.
"Thank you, Selena. We will tell you after a while, and please give us some privacy," Avery told me before turning and passing a sultry smile at Zander.
I breathed out and, turning on my heel, walked to a far corner. So I couldn't hear their inappropriate conversation.
I just had to stand away the whole time, being attentive and waiting for their next order-the most boring job of my life.
My curious eyes were on them as Avery whispered and kept on talking with a sexy glint on her face. However, Zander was only replying with a few subtle nods.
I was not surprised when Avery left her chair and slid into Zander's lap. She was trying hard to get a prominent response from Zander, but as cold as the Alpha King was, he only stared at her face with an expression unreadable even by a genius. She trailed her fingers along Zander's jawline, biting her lips, leaning closer, and looking seductively into his eyes.
Zander's hand circled her waist,
keeping her secure on his lap as he appeared engrossed in her words. Suddenly, Avery turned toward me, catching me watching them intently. A satisfied smirk crept onto her lips, her eyes flashing with a mocking challenge that made my brow furrow with irritation. No, wouldn't give her that satisfaction. I wasn't bothered by their intimacy-it was just an entertaining act, right? Right!
I exhaled, raising my chin with defiant pride.
