Chapter 68 Why is it not a Free Meal?

Chapter 68 Why is it not a Free Meal?

At that time, Julie was at the front desk.

"Miss, please arrange a seat for us. My friends and I have been waiting for a few minutes," Julie spoke

as if she was making a legitimate request.

"I'm sorry, please queue up first. When it's your turn, we will arrange a place for you" said the front desk

lady politely.

"What? I say I need you to arrange a seat right now. Don't you recognize me? I am not someone you

can mess around with. If you still don't arrange it for me, you might lose your job soon," Julie said

aggressively. She felt disrespected as the receptionist was not willing to arrange a seat for her.

"Dear customer, I hope you can abide with our rules here," said the receptionist with a smile on her

face, "We don't have a seat for you right now. If you want to dine in here, you will need to wait. I'll

arrange a seat when it's your turn."

"I want to meet your manager. I am sure he will arrange a seat for us." Julie though that the receptionist

must not have seen the situation that day. It would be futile to talk to her.

"I am sorry, the manager is busy right now. If you have any problem, you can tell me." That middle-

aged woman was messing around. She was trying to handle it herself instead of wasting the manager’s

time.

"Hey, looks like you are insensible." Julie was pissed off. She looked at the receptionist depressingly

and cursed in her heart.

"As you can see, my friends are over there. If you mess up our dinner, my family will lose one or two

million," Julie was trying to seek for her sympathy and putting pressure on her, "Can you try to find a

seat for me now. When the business deal is done, I'll give you one thousand yuan as a reward."

"As you can see, all the seats have been taken. There is only a VIP box left, but it is way too

expensive. The minimum expenses are fifty thousand yuan. I am afraid you wouldn't book it either. I

really can do nothing about it," said the receptionist.

"The VIP box is available? You should just tell me earlier. I'll take it." Julie said confidently. They had

the VIP box last time, and it was free of charge. Since then, why not they have another free meal?

"Are you sure you want to book the VIP box?" The receptionist asked in surprise. The VIP box was way

too costly; that was why it was still available. The way Julie dressed and behaved, she did not seem

like she could afford to book the VIP box. Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

"Don't talk too much. It is not the first time I am booking the VIP box. Do you think I can't afford it?"

Julie said querulously.

When the receptionist saw her speaking with such conviction, she didn't say much. She quickly

instructed the waiters to bring them to the top package.

"Julie, you will need to spend at least fifty thousand yuan at the VIP box. Are you sure about it?"

Although Julie booked the VIP box, Lilian was apprehensive as she whispered to Julie.

"Lilian, don't worry about it. All you need to do is to enjoy the meal," said Julie.

The waiter led them to the VIP box, which was luxuriously decorated. Julie was satisfied when she saw

Lilian's jaw dropped when she saw how luxury it was.

"We were here last week. Let's just order what we ordered before." said Julie to the waiter.

"Huh? There are only four of you this time, I am afraid the food would be too much," the waiter kindly

reminded.

"Just do as I said. Just leave it if we can't finish the food. You bother too much." Julie said trenchantly.

The food they ordered last time were all their signature dishes, and the prices were outrageous. The

restaurant will make a big profit.

"You are something. I don't even dare to order that way," said Lilian. Looking at how confident Julie

was, Lilian was relieved.

"Ha ha, you are still not used to it at here. After coming for a few times, you will realize this place is

nothing extraordinary." Julie said "humbly". She was on cloud nine.

Soon, dishes of delicious food were served.

"The steak and oysters are delicious, they have the best Western food in JM City," Julie said as if she

knew it all. In reality, she know nothing about Western food.

Julie and her gang were clumsy with their knives and forks, unlike Lilian who was quite skilful with it.

Despite that, Julie acted like she knew a lot about Western food. It was somewhat sarcastic.

Then, the door was pushed open. A young man walked in with a big smile on his face. It was Manager

Miller. He would personally make a toast to the guests who booked the VIP box.

"Hello everyone..." When he saw those lecherous older women, he was stunned. How could it be

them? He couldn't help but suppress his anger.

Julie and her gang were pleased to meet Manager Miller again. They looked lecherous.

"Is the food nice? I will make a toast to you guys. If you need anything, let me know." Manager Miller

casually picked up a glass of wine from the table. He just wanted to finish toasting and get out from

there. He was disgusted by the sight of these old women.

"Hold on, Manager Miller. This wine isn't good enough. Since you want to make a toast, use a better

wine. The wine, Louis XIV, you used last time will do," Julie looked at him affectionately. A 50-year-old,

out-of-shape woman was portraying a voluptuous gesture. It was awful to see her acting that way.

"Sure, I'll go get it now." Manager Miller said politely as he walked out of the box. It was mental

suffering for him to stay the room with them.

"Manager Miller is quite handsome," Lilian involuntarily murmured.

"Lilian, you admire him too? As long as you are willing, I can let him accompany you for a few days,"

Julie wiggled her eyebrows at Lilian as she said with a mysterious smile.

"Are you joking? Why would the manager listen to you?" Lilian was tempted; she was to test Julie.

"You don't believe me? I’ll show you later," Julie said proudly, "Oh ya, Lilian. If I can get Manager Miller

to accompany you for a few days, will you agree to our business deal?"

"Oh, all right. Don't worry. My husband listens to me a lot," said Lilian, with a smile on her face.

At that time, Manager Miller came in with a bottle of Louis XIV. He opened it and poured it for everyone.

Manager Miller walked up to Julie and toasted her.

"Manager Miller, why are you rushing? Look, you've split the wine on your chest. Let me wipe it off for

you," Julie was about to lay her hand on his chest with an evil gaze. She was energetic despite her

age. When she saw Manager Miller, it was like a cat seeing a fish.

"I can do it myself," Manager Miller took a step back and wiped it himself.

"This wine is so strong. I'm dizzy,"Julie touched her forehead as she fell towards Manager Miller. She

wanted to fall into his arms, but Manager Miller quickly moved aside to dodge her. Julie stumbled and

almost her head at the table. Fortunately, she reacted in time.

That bitch could react fast. Luckily, she didn't crash her head.

Manager Miller smiled at Julie as if nothing happened. He then clinked his drink with the others who all

wanted to take advantage of him.

Manager Miller made stilted conversation politely before he went out.

"Hmm…seems like Manager Miller is a bit shy today. Don't worry. I'll get him to accompany you in a few

days." Julie laughed awkwardly. She was embarrassed with how things went. She thought that

Manager Miller acted that way because Yair wasn't around.

Lilian didn't take things to her heart. The Western food there was superb, and she had a good time.

They were about to leave after finishing the meal. Halfway through the lobby, a waiter stopped them.

"I'm sorry you have to pay your bill. Please make your payment before you leave," the waiter said

politely.

Out of a sudden, Julie looked grumpy. The waiter was asking her to pay the bill in front of Lilian; she felt

disrespected.

"Are you new here? Do I need to pay the bill? Ask Manager Miller about it," Julie didn't feel that she

was at fault.

"Dear guest, please settle your bill," said Manager Miller solemnly.

"Julie... " Lilian looked at Julie anxiously. Didn't you tell me you don't have to pay for the meal? What

was going on?

"Don't worry" Julie reassured Lilian. She was brave enough to stare at Manager Miller, "Manager Miller,

have you forgotten we didn't need to pay for the meal when we came here last time?"

"Yes. There was a reason for that back then. Please pay the bill this time around." Manager Miller

looked straight at Julie.

When he thought about it carefully, he realized Quincy Lane only talked to Jane and her mother

throughout the meal. Based on his experience, he expected that Quincy was not close with Julie.

If it were Jane and her mother, Manager Miller would have given them a free meal.

However, Julie and her gang were just ordinary people. Manager Miller wouldn't allow them to have

free meals at the VIP box.

Something was wrong with Manager Miller. He was trying to mess around with me. Was it because Yair

wasn't here?

"Alright, Manager Miller. I didn't expect you to be so insensible. I'll make a call now if you have any

problem you can talk to him," Julie gave him a stare. She took out her phone and went aside to make

her call.

"Just wait. It is just a small matter, but you are making a big deal out of it. Let's see how you explain to

him when he comes," said Julie after she finished her call.

"Don't worry, Lilian. Everything will be fine when he arrives. They should be glad that we are here at

their restaurant," said Julie.

"Alright, that's good," when Lilian saw how calm Julie was, she was relieved.

Manager Miller was a little anxious. Did she call Quincy? Did I make a mistake? Was that lecherous

woman related to Quincy?

He waited apprehensively for the man's arrival. He decided to apologize to them if it was Quincy. It was

OK to lose his face rather than offending Quincy.

At the moment, a young man came in, Julie greeted him hurriedly. She could not stand the way she was
