Margaret pressed her lips together. "Stephanie called me here."
"Did you bully Stephanie again?" William asked directly and said nothing else.
It was the same as before.
No matter what Margaret said, William would not believe her.
In his eyes, he only had Stephanie for a daughter.
Since Stephanie had been acknowledged by Master Sherman, she had brought great honor to the
family.
Naturally, he had to protect her well.
Therefore, his attitude towards Margaret got even worse.
After all, this daughter had embarrassed him.
She even got pregnant before getting married...
"Mr. Simons, if you talk nonsense, you're gonna get punished by God," Margaret said calmly.
William really hated the sight of Margaret.
She looked just like her mother. Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
Before, everyone felt that he was very lucky to have captured the heart of a young lady from a rich
family.
But William knew that these people were secretly laughing at him for depending on a woman to
survive.
This was what William could tolerate.
Margaret ignored the furious William.
Her gaze fell on the main door of the Simons family's villa
She saw Stephanie walking out slowly.
There was a hint of a smile on her face.
It was obvious that Stephanie had already known that Margaret was here.
She just wanted to embarrass Margaret. So, she chose not to come out.
"Dad, I invited Margaret here. I felt that we are a family, after all..." Stephanie explained. She was a
really good person in front of William.
William looked at Stephanie lovingly and said, "Stephanie, you are too kind."
"Dad, I'll be fine. I think Mr. Gordan was looking for you," Stephanie said.
Gordon Whelan was Zachary's father.
They were in-laws.
Thus, William nodded and walked inside.
"Now that I'm here, you can tell me what you want." Margaret looked straight at Stephanie.
Stephanie covered her mouth and laughed, "Margaret, you best watch what you say. You're making it
seem like I am going against you on purpose."
"Are you not? Then why did you call me here?" Margaret raised her eyebrows.
She did not believe that someone like Stephanie would really invite her over just for the sake of a
sisters' reunion.
"Dad will announce my marriage to Zachary today at the banquet." Stephanie said as she kept staring
at Margaret.
"Okay, and?" Margaret did not take what she heard seriously.
Stephanie suddenly felt puzzled.
Why did Margaret seem to be indifferent about this? Did she not care?
Stephanie wanted to boast in front of Margaret.
However, after seeing Margaret's response, she felt that Margaret had a little care about this.
All of a sudden, this felt meaningless.
Margaret raised her eyebrows at Stephanie.
Did Stephanie ask her to come just to mock her?
Yet, Margaret kept feeling that there was more to this.
The banquet was held at the Simons family's villa.
Everything was exceptionally grand.
Not many people came to the banquet, but those who did were people of high status.
Knowing William, if he was to announce Stephanie's engagement, it would not be done in such a grand
way.
Could it be that someone notable was coming?
Margaret's plain white dress was really out of place compared to the outfit of everyone else.
However, she somehow still attracted a lot of people's attention.
She looked as elegant and beautiful as a blooming orchid.
Jealousy seeped into Stephanie. She quickly handed Margaret a mask.
"Put it on. After all, the people in the circle more or less knew that you got pregnant before getting
married. Don't bring shame to the Simons family." Stephanie said with great disdain.
Margaret did not want to cause a scene with Stephanie.
She just wanted to go home with the little box as soon as possible.
So, she put the mask on.
It was only then Stephanie's lips curled up into a smile.
"Can you give me the box now?" Margaret said in a low voice.
"Box? What box?" Stephanie said, sounding annoyed, "Oh, that box. I threw it away a long time ago."
"You..." Margaret glared at Stephanie.
Suddenly, Stephanie cried out. She had fallen down the stairs.
Everyone at the banquet instantly shifted their attention to them.
Stephanie fell while Margaret stood right at the top of the stairs.
Such an obvious contrast was naturally misunderstood by everyone.
Margaret widened her eyes, seemingly not understanding why Stephanie would do this.
Was she trying to slander her?
Was she trying to frame her?
What was Stephanie getting out of this?
Why did Stephanie want to slander and frame her?
"Stephanie!" William was the first to react. "Hurry, help the young lady up."
"Margaret, you'll be in trouble if something happens to Stephanie and Master Sherman is angered by
this." William said harshly when he walked past Margaret.
The look in his eyes was not one for a daughter, but for an enemy.
Master Sherman?
Who was Master Sherman?
Margaret felt that her mind was a mess. She could only helplessly watch Stephanie get sent to the
hospital.
A reporter snapped a picture of the scene.
It instantly became a hot topic when it was posted online.
With the Simon family on the verge of chaos, the banquet naturally came to an end because Stephanie
got hurt
Margaret was asked to leave.
...
In the hospital.
Stephanie was lying weakly on the bed. The doctor sighed and said, "Fortunately, the wound is not
fatal, but she will not be able to do any strenuous exercise anymore."
"No more strenuous exercise?" William widened his eyes when he heard that. "So, she can't dance
anymore?"
"That's correct. Exercises that involve complex movements like dancing, football, swimming are no
longer allowed." The doctor nodded.
William felt hopeless. What would he do about Master Sherman now?
Master Sherman only liked Stephanie's dance!
William was so disappointed that he paid no attention to his surroundings.
Stephanie, who was on the bed, had been secretly exchanging glances with the doctor.
When Stephanie heard what the doctor said, not only did she not feel disappointed, but she also let out
a sigh of relief.
She had used the opportunity to frame Margaret and hurt her legs under public gaze.
Since the dance became viral, many people started inviting her to dance on the spot.
However, she did not know how to dance at all.
And then there was the thing with Master Sherman...
With her plan, she had killed two birds with one stone.
She could pretend to be pitiful to gain popularity, and she would no longer need to dance.
"Dad, what should we do?" Stephanie asked weakly.
"This..." William had a splitting headache.
The ward door was abruptly opened.
Mr. Wayne walked in.
"Miss Stephanie." Mr. Wayne nodded. He continued, "Your leg..."
"Mr. Wayne, Stephanie's foot is injured, so she can't dance anymore..." William said cautiously.
Wayne slightly furrowed his brows. However, his gaze fell on the green necklace on Stephanie's chest
and his pupils contracted.
