Chapter 38
Azalea
After we got dressed, we went downstairs. Lily and Damien sat in the kitchen, having a hushed conversation. When they noticed us, Lily jumped up. “All better now?” she chirped. I blushed and nodded. “I think we need some comfort and relaxation. Pizza, anyone?” she suggested. She was trying hard, but I could appreciate her sentiment.
“Want some help?” I asked, trying to show everyone I was okay now.Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.
She smiled at me and went to the fridge to start grabbing things. Liam sat down next to Damien. By the looks of them, they were having a conversation over their mind link. Lily shot them a dangerous look when she caught me eyeing Liam. “Why don’t you two go be useful and find us a movie in the living room?” she shot at them.
They both got up and shuffled out of the kitchen. “Lily, I am okay now. It wasn’t as bad as you think,” I said to her.
“It’s not that, don’t worry,” she said back to me. We silently made lunch, not making much eye contact. Twenty minutes later, we had a couple of pizzas, some plates, and drinks, and we were headed into the living room to find our mates.
Entering the room, my eyes immediately went to Liam pacing in front of the couch where Damien sat. I could feel the anger rolling off him. My steps faltered for a split second as we came into the room. Liam looked up, locking eyes with me. Damien stood up from the couch, giving Lily a precarious look.
“Um, pizza is ready,” I said with hesitation. Damien came over to help grab the food from us as Liam turned around, running his hands through his hair, trying to wrangle his emotions. I looked between Lily and Damien, silently pleading for answers but getting nothing from them.
“Let’s put the movie on. We all need to relax,” Lily said, looking at Damien. We moved over to the couch, sitting down. Liam came over to sit next to me. The three of them acted like they knew something, and it was bugging me.
“Okay, what is it?” I said, my voice dripping with irritation.
The three of them looked at each other. “What do you mean-” Liam started.
“I am not dumb, okay. This is not just about my heat, either. Something happened, and you three don’t want to tell me.”
Liam looked at me with guilty eyes. Damien stared at the floor. I looked at Lily; she finally caved. “There is just something that came up. It is all going to be handled, though,” she said. I think she was trying to reassure herself more than me.
I turned my attention to Liam, giving him an expectant look. I never felt like he was anything other than honest with me until this moment. Unable to continue to hold my gaze, he shifted his to the floor. Standing up, I said, “When you want to tell me, I’ll be upstairs.” I left them sitting in the living room and went to our bedroom. Tears rimmed my eyes as I walked away from them.
First, he turns me down when I tell him that we can mate. Now, he won’t tell me whatever is happening between him, Lily, and Damien. This is all starting to prove the exact reason why I should not have gotten close, why I shouldn’t have let him into my heart. I entered our bedroom and sat down on the bed. I tried not to let the tears fall, assuming that Liam would follow me at some point. The longer I sat there, the more frustrated and upset I became.
Like on cue, a soft knock came at the door. But to my surprise, it was Lily, not Liam. A look of shock crossed my features. Lily had a sad look on her face telling me that she knew I would be upset by her arrival.
“Let me guess, he can’t tell me, so he sent you to soften the blow?” I spat at her. She did not deserve my venomous attitude, but I didn’t care much at that moment.
“Azalea, it’s not like that…” she said quietly.
“Where is he then?” I asked. She just looked at me with sadness in her eyes. She knew she was disappointing me and angering me at the same time. “What is going on that I can’t know? Lest you all forget, I grew up with werewolves; I am a werewolf. I may be a little different than the rest of you, but I am still one of you!” I was seething now.
Lily’s eyes seemed far off for a moment. Before I knew it, Liam was standing in the doorway. Lily nodded to him and left the room, closing the door to give us some privacy. I guess she told him I was not taking this very well. He stepped further into the room hesitantly. I held up my hand, stopping him.
“If you don’t want to tell me what is going on, that is fine, Liam. But then you need to take me back to the Inn. I don’t want to be here with you if you won’t even tell me what is going on,” I told him. He looked like I just slapped him in the face.
“Azalea…” he started. I crossed my arms and looked at him expectantly. He reached up, rubbing the back of his head. “I just…”
“Just what, Liam?” I spat. He looked at me with apprehension but made no move to continue his explanation. “Fine!” I barked. Storming past him, I went into the closet to start packing my clothes.
“Azalea, please,” he said, coming up behind me.
“No, Liam. Do not start! I came here because I trusted you. Right now, you are showing me exactly why I shouldn’t have let myself fall in love with you!” I said, fuming. I was so enraged that I did not even realize that I had again admitted that I was in love with him. I was bristling as I started sloppily throwing my clothes into my suitcase.
“Azalea, it isn’t safe for you at the Inn. I need you to trust me a bit longer,” he pleaded. He stood behind me as I worked hastily. His proximity was making my body calm down, but my mind was not going to follow suit.
“No, Liam. I am done with all of this,” I told him solemnly. Out of nowhere, there was a searing hot pain right through my abdomen. I cried out as I clutched my stomach. Liam stilled behind me. I could feel his demeanor shift. Another wave of pain came over me, causing me to drop to the ground.
I heard a growl from behind me. I felt Liam’s arms hastily grab me, pulling me up and putting me over his shoulder. For a short moment, I caught a glimpse of his face. His expression was hard, and his eyes were midnight blue. Fear ran through me, followed by another wave of hot searing pain. My face was now sweating profusely. Liam carried me out of the closet and into the bedroom. He tossed me down on the bed like a doll.
“W-What are you d-doing?” I panted, trying to work through the pain radiating from my core. Why was this happening again so soon?
Liam growled as he removed his shirt, tossing it aside. “Liam, p-please, you’re scaring me. AH!” I screamed again.
He crawled up on the bed, inching towards me. “Liam,” I continued to whimper. Soon he was over top me. He extended the claws on his left hand.
“It’ll all be over soon, Little Mate,” he said in a deep voice. He grabbed my hands in his right hand, holding them above my head. My eyes grew wide with realization.
“Gavin?” I whispered in disbelief. He smirked as he used one of his claws to tear through the front of my shirt and my bra. “Please, not like this,” I begged, still whimpering from the pain.
“You asked, Little Mate. This will end the pain. Your body wants this,” he said simply.
Tears were running down my face as I shook my head. He held my hand above my head as he removed my pants then pulled his own down. “Mmm. Little Mate, you smell divine,” he growled.
“Gavin, it doesn’t have to be this way,” I sobbed. How I wished I could link Damien and Lily right now. They had to be utterly clueless as to what was going on. There was no way they could hear us downstairs, as I was sure that the bedrooms were soundproof for usual wolf antics.
He positioned himself at my entrance. He felt large against me. My core was wet from the heat. I shook my head as he smiled at me. In one swift movement, he plunged inside me. I screamed in pain. He gave me no time to adjust to his massive size as he began to vigorously pump his swollen c**k in and out of me. I continued to cry and scream as he held my arms above my head with one hand and his other on my h**s.
“Please, stop,” I implored in between sobs. I could feel pressure building in my abdomen, but the pleasure was not accompanying it. This was nothing like the night Liam and I had spent together in my bed.
“c*m for me, Little Mate,” he commanded. He continued his relentless barrage on my body.
“Liam, stop him, please,” I begged through my tears. Some part of me hoped he would be able to stop his wolf, even if the damage was already done. I could feel the pressure building to its apex in no time at all. Gavin knew it was happening as well as he sped up, thrusting even harder into my small entrance.
As the pressure finally burst, all the heat and pain in my body flooded away momentarily. Gavin continued for a few more thrusts before he, too, found his release. He climaxed inside of me, grunting in approval. Finally letting go of me, he rolled away from me and off the bed. Gavin stood next to the bed, dressing with a smug smirk on his face.
“You will be marked soon, Little Mate,” he said in a dark voice. I burst into even more tears and curled into a ball on the bed, hiding my body from him. Now that I could not feel the pain from the heat, I could feel what Gavin had just done. My chest hurt, and I couldn’t get a proper breath.
Gavin left the room, not bothering to close the door. Within moments I heard a scream and a growl followed by a crunch. Lily appeared in the doorway. “Oh, Goddess, no…” was all I heard as I let the darkness take me away.
