His Destructive, Toxic Love

Chapter 364

Eliza couldn't quite grasp what he was saying. He talked for ages, long enough that she ended up dozing off. His kisses, light as raindrops, landed on the edge of her lips, her eyelids, and the tip of her nose. She slowly lifted her thick lashes and found herself face-to-face with a handsome, magnified visage.

"You kissed me again," she murmured, her little face scrunched up in a frown.

The man chuckled, clearly in a good mood. "I've set up an appointment with Dr. Roth. He'll be in Falconridge next Tuesday. We'll go see him, and you can talk through everything with him." Eliza's heart skipped a beat with excitement. She shot up, sitting upright on the bed. "Really?"

He affectionately ruffled her hair. "Absolutely."

"That's amazing."

"Are you still mad at me?" He didn't want to come on too strong, but sometimes his temper got the best of him. "I genuinely want to help you, and my feelings for you are real."

Eliza didn't want to delve into emotions. She knew him better than anyone. She didn't respond, so he pulled her back into his arms. "Come on, give me something. Try to like me a bit, will you?" "Casper, we're just not right for each other. Let's drop this," she said, clearly irritated.

"How can you say that? I'm single, you're single "

Eliza cut him off, raising her hand. "Are you sure you're single?"

The question stumped Casper. He had lost part of his memory. Could it be that in those lost memories, there was a marriage? But Dillon had never mentioned anything like that.

"I..." He had no answer.

Eliza chuckled softly, pushed him away, grabbed her clothes, and slowly dressed. "I think, Mr. Casper, you should really take some time to find out about your past. Maybe then you'll stop bothering me." "My past?" He grabbed her wrist, frowning in confusion. "Do you know about my past?"

"I don't know you well enough to know about your past, Mr. Casper." She pulled her hand back and got out of bed. "Thanks for setting up the appointment with Dr. Roth. I'll see you next Tuesday." "I'll drive you," he insisted, following her out of bed.

She didn't want him to, but he was adamant, and she didn't have the energy to argue. On the way, Casper drove with one hand on the wheel, the other holding Eliza's hand. His affectionate demeanor made her uncomfortable.

her lose trust in marriage and Kope for the future. How could she convince herself to start over with Casper? Even for Brock, she couldn't do it. Being friends was the most she could offer.

The car pulled up in front of Eliza's old, rundown apartment building, the one her parents had left her. The headlights swept over the entrance, and a man standing there walked over when he saw the car. Through the windshield, David saw the woman sitting in the passenger seat. His face clouded with displeasure.

"David, what are you doing here?" Eliza asked as she got out of the car.

"Mom asked me to pick you up for dinner," he replied.

As they spoke, Casper opened the car door and stepped out from the driver's side.
