Chapter 218
Chapter 218
S21 48. Missing Each Other
Louis quickly got off Frank’s lap. “Daddy, Mommy, we’re going on a mission. See you at lunch.”
Kara and Frank nodded slightly. After the children left, they stared at
each other.
“You must be so confused that you have to tell them about your grandmother.” Kara reached for her husband's fingers.
Frank smiled wryly. “One way to cheer someone up is through diversion. I’m lucky that the children are curious about their great- grandmother. Otherwise, | don’t know how to defend my mother.”
While nodding, Kara rubbed her husband's shoulder. “It’s okay, Frank. What you did was good.” However, the man’s gaze remained dim. “Sorry if my mother isn’t as good as your mother.”
Kara stroked Frank’s cheek, asking the corners of his lips to rise. ” Your mother just needs time. Later, her heart will also melt, like. y late grandfather, like your sister.”
“Like me before?” Frank raised an eyebrow. Kara laughed faintly. “Yes, just like you before. Therefore, be patient. “| wish | was as patient as you.”
Kara stroked Frank’s eyebrows. “Actually, you are much more patient than me. Otherwise, it would be impossible for us to be together now.”
“That’s not patience, but persistence. Have you forgotten how | struggled to melt your heart?”
Seeing Frank pout, Kara let out a small laugh. “That's called the
dynamics of life. It won’t be impressive if it’s just flat.”Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
Suddenly, Kara grabbed Frank’s hand again. “Now, how about we continue what we were doing?”
“Making children?” Frank smiled mischievously.
Kare snorted in disbelief. “Studying the report! You said you wanted. to help me monitor Harris’s company?” Frank let out a laugh and got up from the sofa. “Okay, okay. But after that-”
“We'll monitor the twins.”
“Which twins?” Frank teased again.
Kara’s cheeks reddened. “The twins who are making the animation. Please, Frank. Don’t tease me anymore or our work will pile up.”
Unexpectedly, Frank picked up Kara. “Frank...” Kara sighed as she patted her husband's shoulder. “Put me down! What if someone sees?” ‘It's okay, Kara. | need exercise. Going up the stairs, | mean.”
While the couple whispered intimately, Philip blinked with an even expression. For the first time, he had no interest in teasing his bos With unsteady steps, he went to the back yard. Then, from a chair, he sat pensively, looking at the window which was covered with thick curtains.
‘Philip...!” Emily called out while looking to the left and right.
‘Philip...!” Louis framed his mouth with both hands to make his voice sound louder. Hearing the twins’ exclamations, Kara approached them. “What's
wrong, Little Anges!? Why are you screaming like that?”
“Has Mommy seen Philip? He didn’t answer our calls.”
Kara shook her head. “Isn’t he always with you guys?”
Emily’s lips pursed. “Yes, but these two days, we've been too focused on making the animation. So, Philip mostly wanders around alone.”
Kara’s chin pressed against her lips. “Why are you looking for Philip?”
“We want to ask for his opinion about our work, Mommy,” Emily answered with a small jump. “Is the animation finished?” Kara’s eyebrows rose enthusiastically.
Louis gave thumbs up. “Yeah! Do you want to see it, Mommy?”
Kara nodded. Taking the twins’ hands, she went to their study.
While the animation was playing, Kara couldn’t stop smiling and laughing. She applauded how the twins portrayed Barbara. The pink/ color at the ends of her hair even looked accurate.
Plus, the twins didn’t miss a beat. Things she didn’t know before were now revealed.
“How did you know Philip climbed on a chair to spy on Auntie’s window?” Kara asked while rubbing her eyes, calming her amuser
Louis chuckled. “I accidentally saw it.”
“It wasn’t an accident, Mommy. Louis followed Philip because her thought Philip's movements were strange. He even eavesdropped on them, although it was already bedtime.”
Kara glanced at Louis, expressing rebuke. The toddler immediately. widened his eyes. “It wasn’t too late, Mom. | was only five minutes late getting to my
room.”
Feeling exasperated, Kara pinched her son’s cheek. “Next time, don’t do it again. Understand? Eavesdropping on other people’s conversations is rude, Little Bee.”
“Okay, Mommy. I'll try to remember it. Now, what do you think about our animation? Does anything need to be changed?”
Kara’s eyes narrowed. She knew Louis was deliberately changing the conversation. However, repetitive advice was useless. So, she looked back at the screen.
“| think this animation is perfect. When do you want to send it to Auntie?”
Suddenly, the twins’ expressions darkened. Emily looked down, while Louis tapped his smart watch. “We think Aunt’s number is still not active. She hasn’t called us yet.”
Kara pursed her lips too. Then, lifting her children’s chins, she shook her head slightly.
“Don't worry, Little Angels. Maybe she still needs time to be alone. Auntie will definitely contact you later.”
Just as Kara finished her sentence, Philip’s voice echoed from
outside. “Young Master! Young Lady!”
Kara and the twins flinched. When they turned towards the door, Philip appeared, panting and smiling brightly. “Your aunt calls!”
Louis and Emily suddenly gaped. While jumping up and down, they shouted joyfully.
“Woohoo! Aunt finally calls us! She hasn't forgotten us!”
“Come on, Philip! Let’s answer it together.” Emily waved her tiny
hands deftly.
