Chapter 780 Designed Coincidence
Chapter 780 Designed Coincidence
These days Rufus kept his distance from the kids. With a cold, he felt unbearable.
Winnie was not afraid of being infected and sat beside Rufus.
"It doesn't matter, if I am really infected, I don’t need to go to work."
"You are a disobedient child."
"See, you still bought a lot of things. Didn’t I tell you that you don’t need to buy so many things?"
Rufus could not help nagging when he saw Brian bought in many bags. He did not want Winnie to
spend her money. He felt indebted to Winnie, of she still bought things for him, he would feel guiltier.
"I haven’t bought it for a long time. It doesn't cost much, and it's something you and the kids like to eat."
"Don't think twice about it. You can eat since I bought it. I'll buy more if it has been run out."
Winnie said. She felt happy to spend money for family.
"Rufus, since you catch a cold, you must drink more hot water. And you will get well soon."
Vanessa came over, and said to Felix with concern.
"Well, I'll drink plenty of hot water and take my medicine regularly. You can rest assured, I am all right."
Rufus said happily, trying to look energetic so that the kids would not worry.
"Rufus, you chat with my sister, I take the kids to play outside."
Vanessa then left, Brian was outside at this time.
Rufus took this opportunity to ask the news about Isobel.
"Your aunt hasn't come back yet?"
"No, they are with the patient all the time. They follow the virus wherever it goes."
"Alas...... I'm worried because she's old."
Speaking of her aunt, Winnie inevitably was upset. She had persuaded her aunt, but it did not work.
"Well, older people don't have the same resistance as younger people, so the risk of infection must be
higher for them. Have she contacted you these days? Is everything ok over there?"
Seeing that Winnie sighed, Rufus was more worried and asked.
"Yes, but it was she contacted us all the time. She had changed to a new epidemic area, where the
signal is very weak, we cannot contact her. Every time when she is not busy, she finds a place with a
relatively good signal and calls us."
"Vanessa and I are worried, but she refused to come back."
Winnie truthfully answered. She didn't think much, just felt Rufus was cared about her aunt.
"Ask her to come back as early as possible. It's not safe there."
Knowing that Isobel had contacted Winnie, Rufus was relieved. As long as she was safe, he could eat
and go to sleep in a good state.
As soon as Felix finished, Brian came in. Felix changed the subject.
"Brian, I did not know Winnie and Vanessa would come today. Paul and his wife went out to attend a
wedding, so no one is to cook lunch. You drive me to buy some food, and I'll cook lunch for you."
Felix said and stood up. Winnie stood up too.
"No need, Rufus. Vanessa and I will leave soon.”
Winnie thought since she refused to eat here, Rufus would have no need to prepare food.
"Even if you do not eat here, the kids, Brian and I will dine. The chef asked for leave today, so we have
to cook ourselves."
Rufus said it on purpose. He just wanted Winnie and Vanessa to stay here for a longer time.
But it was true that the chef did ask for leave.
"Oh, I see. I'll go shopping and cook. You rest at home, Rufus."
Winnie could not let these people hungry.
Then Winnie walked toward the outside, followed by Brian closely behind.
When they got to the car, Brian was standing beside her.
"I'll go shopping alone. You stay home and take care of your father."
Winnie refused Brian to follow her, but she failed. NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.
"He does not need to take care of, I go buy food with you, you cannot carry it alone."
Brian grabbed the car key in the hands of Winnie and then continued to go forward.
"There's a big new supermarket outside and they sell everything. We'll walk there instead of driving."
Brian grabbed the car key because he wanted to walk to there, Winnie rolled her eyes at him and then
followed out.
Out of the yard, two people were walking, Winnie began to find problems.
"We agreed that I would come when you are out. You always go back on your word. I can't trust you."
"I am absolutely not intentional this time, Paul and his wife were not here and the chef asked for leave.
My father is sick and the kids need to be taken care of. What do you expect them to do if I'm not
home?"
Brian gave his answer. Winnie had asked him take good care of the elderly and kids, so he could not
go against his will.
But he was glad that he had been successful to ask Paul and his wife and the chef to leave in advance.
So Winnie must accept the fact that he stayed at home, and she would help to cook and take care of
the kids.
He did this to find an opportunity to get along with Winnie. He hoped that they would have a happy time
together.
As Brian thought, Winnie did not continue to blame him, it was logical to accept the fact that he was at
home.
Two people walked silently for a while, Winnie could not help but ask a question.
"You still don't call him Dad?"
"Well..."
Brian answered and his mood was affected by this topic.
"When will you open that knot in your heart?"
Winnie continued to ask. If one more word from her could open the knot in Brian's heart, she would say
one more word.
"I don't know, when I face him alone when you are away, I feel it difficult."
Brian was just stating the facts, not using the matter to please Winnie. He was well aware that his
relationship with his father had stalled since Winnie moved out of the house.
At this speed, he might not call Rufus Dad till the next life.
"Try to overcome it. If you always treat him like this, it will affect the kids' understanding of family. Try to
change it for the sake of your kids."
Winnie really wanted to see the relationship between Brian and his father improved, so she could rest
assured.
"I don’t think so, only you can overcome it."
Brian told the truth, he really couldn't clear the obstacles in his heart. No one could accomplish this
arduous difficulty, except Winnie.
"You're wrong. I don't have the power, and I can't clear obstacles in your heart. If you can't do it, I'll take
the kids back."
Winnie did not think she was omnipotent. Brian was just being rhetoric and scheming. She knew her
position in the heart of Brian and her abilities in all aspects.
If she had been important as he said, none of this would have ended this way.
Winnie wanted Brian to move on and live his life without burdens.
But Winnie could not show it and took the healthy growth of kids as an excuse. It depended on him if
he could understood and if would try.
"For the safety of the kids, you can’t take them back yet. Besides, you don't have the time or energy to
take care of them right now. Let them stay with me for the time being. If you take them away, there will
be no need for me to stay here."
As Brian said, safety was the first priority. Brian hoped the kids with be with him and hoped Winnie
would come back. This was a perfect family, so that the kids would be happy, and he would be happy.
"What do you mean? If I take them away, you will cut off your relationship with you father?"
"Brian, you are so cold-blooded. He's your father, the man who raised you."
Winnie asked Brian with surprise. She did not know why they had this relationship and did not know
there was such deep hatred between him and his father.
Brian did not answer because he did not know what to say. No matter who told him about it, he would
not listen. Only when Winnie said it, he would feel it and would not reject it.
Winnie stopped her pace and became nosy.
"Brian, you can love your mother, but he is your father, why can't you forgive him? How much do you
know about those years and you hated him blindly? While you hate your uncle, what's your mood like?
Are you happy feeling you have taken revenge for your mother?"
Winnie's words hurt Brian's heart. He loved his mother and his father. He was sure they would have
been happy if his father had not cheated on his mother and his mother had died.
He hated his father for so many years but he never had been happy for retaliation. No one knew what it
was like to suffer like that.
"I..."
Brian still did not know how to answer.
In fact, he wanted to put his true feelings to Winnie, but he did not know what to say, but stood there in
silence.
"Alas...... Forget it. It is not my business. I will take kids away when the danger is over, and whether
you stay in the suburbs is your own affair."
Winnie said a lot, but Brian probably didn't hear a word.
He saved her face by not being angry or shouting at her. What else could she say? She just needed to
do her job well.
