Chapter 733
Chapter 733
Compared to Jared’s emotional turmoil, Nocturne was the epitome of calm. This didn't sit well with
Jared.
At dinner, Jared repeatedly asked Nocturne if he genuinely considered him as his father, or if there had
been a better father figure in his life over the past four years.
Agnes couldn't stand it anymore, saying, “Jared, are you being childish?”
Jared whispered into Agnes’ ear, “Don’t you think our son is a bit too calm? I can't tell if he's happy or
not.”
Agnes rolled her eyes at Jared, "Your son inherited that trait from you.”
Jared raised an eyebrow. Turning to Nocturne, who was eating spaghetti, he asked,"Noc, are you
happy today?”
“I am very happy.” Nocturne replied calmly.
“Is that your way showing your happiness?”
Nocturne slightly smiled, his tone serious, "Yes, dad. This is how I look when I'm happy.”
Jared was worried; his son was too good at hiding his emotions. His son was even better at it than
himself. That attitude was not one of a four-year-old. It was as if he’d time-traveled from a different era.
After a long stay at the nursing home, once Agnes’ grandmother had gone to bed, they left with
Nocturne, who was sound asleep.
Jared held the little guy in his arms, not wanting to put him down, even when it was time to drive home.
He asked Agnes to drive, while he sat in the passenger seat, holding Nocturne.
He couldn't take his eyes off the little guy. The more he looked at this little guy, the more he love him.
Agnes laughed,"I've never seen you like this, not even when you first found out that Nocturne was your
son.”
At this, Jared was angry. He childishly rolled his eyes at Agnes, saying,"How would you know how I
felt? I was so ecstatic; I could have raised the roof.”
Jared seemed like a completely different person.
Agnes laughed,"Okay, stop staring. He's not going anywhere.”
Jared looked at the little guy in his arms,"I made him, you know. He might be the best thing I've ever
done in my life. Look at his nose, mouth, he looks just like me. Those eyes are identical to yours, and
they are beautiful, by the way. And his skin, it's softer than a baby girl’s. Most importantly, he has a
genius brain. Which four-year-old boy can bring down a company's server in a matter of minutes? My
son, that's who.” Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
Jared was brimming with pride, completely ignoring the damage that server crash had caused the
company.
Seeing Jared so excited, Agnes played along,"Yes, your son is amazing. But how does it feel to know
your IQ is lower than a four-year-old's?”
“That's your IQ, not mine.” Jared replied, smugly.
Agnes was speechless. He was acting like a fool. But seeing Jared's loving gaze, Agnes felt both
happiness and a twinge of sadness. If they hadn't left so hastily four years ago and had sought out the
truth instead, they wouldn't have been apart for so long.
Agnes knew how much Jared regretted missing out on their son's growth, so Agnes took Jared's hand,
saying to him, "Jared, let's have another child. Let's give Noc a younger sister, and you’ll get a little
sweetheart.”
