Flash Marriage Makes A Perfect Match

Chapter 48: We’re Even

“Are you awake?” Severo was a light sleeper, so when she woke up, he woke right up.

He slowly sat up and reached over to turn on the bedside lamp.

Due to her illness, Allyce was a bit unresponsive. When she heard the familiar voice, she didn’t react. However, she was caught completely by surprise when she turned her head and saw who was lying next to her.

She frowns and says: “Why are you here?

Allyce’s face was pale and her voice hoarse as she struggled to pronounce the full sentence.

Severo didn’t answer. He got out of bed and fumbled in the drawer, then turned and held it to Allyce’s lips, ordering in a flat voice, “Take it in your mouth.

Allyce looked closely and discovered it was a thermometer.

Ignoring the thermometer, he looked up alertly, “How did you get into my house? Where did you get the key?”

“Why are you acting like you’re interrogating a prisoner? Do you want to call the police? But maybe you don’t have the strength.

Indeed, he felt all over the place. Whether he could stand up, let alone pick up the phone and call the police, remained an unknown.

When he finished speaking, Severo put the thermometer directly into his mouth with a nonchalant expression, as if he had not forced it.

He opened his mouth and tried to spit it out. At this, Severo’s face suddenly turned cold and his voice even colder, without a hint of sweetness. If you dare to spit it out, I’ll break it and shove it in your mouth.

Poor thing! The mercury was poisonous.

However, by the look on his face, she could tell he would do as he said.

Stifling her anger, Allyce opened her mouth and stuck the thermometer in, then stretched out on the bed.

A small smile appeared in his eyes when he saw her silent objection. Then he turned and poured her a glass of water.

Allyce finally realised that she was wearing ….. Her pyjamas!

When Severo returned with the glass of water, he saw Allyce’s eyes widen.

Following her gaze, he found her staring at his plaid pyjamas. Severo offered no explanation; he didn’t even change his expression. Picking up the glass, he walked over to the bed and grabbed her arm, intending to give her a drink of water.

“It’s not necessary.” Allyce turned her head to one side and gave him an uncomfortable look.

Severo’s face immediately turned grim.

Allyce struggled to lie down on the bed and continued, “Get out”.

He was now so weak that it was difficult for him to speak, so those were the only two words he could say.

Severo looks coldly and puts the cup away.

He ignored her struggles and lifted her up with one hand.

With one hand she held his chin at the nape of his neck and with the other she took the cup and poured the water into his mouth.

“You… Mmmm …”Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.

Without the strength to free herself from his grip, Allyce could only swallow the water reluctantly.

After he had finished most of the water in the glass, Severo finally had mercy and took a towel to wipe the water stains around his lips.

Allyce was forced to drink the water for him, although she felt that her throat was much better after drinking it.

But it soon exploded.

He turned and sat up, picking up a pillow and throwing it at Severo: “If you have a mental disorder, please go home and take your medication. Why are you in my house? Do you have nightmares because you lied to me? You lied to me, but you saved my life. We are even.

Allyce leans against the headboard, beads of sweat on her forehead, as if exhausted after such a long speech.

Severo makes a disgusted face, but says nothing.

He placed the cup firmly on the headboard and looked at her coldly: “If I don’t come, you’ll have to die at home”.

“I would rather die at home than be saved by you again. This debt is the hardest to repay.” Allyce shouted back.

Severo’s grim expression became even grimmer.

Allyce gasped desperately for air. She was too tired to speak.

Severo was also silent, enraged by Allyce.

The room was silent, so silent that only his breathing could be heard.

Allyce admitted it was irrational for him to say such things, but she couldn’t help it. She didn’t know how to get along with Severo.

He had very little and rarely wanted anything extravagant. She had only one simple desire in mind: to investigate her father’s case. But Severo enters her life by chance.

He broke into her world without her permission. He is attentive and treats her well in every way. In his own way, he slowly and inexorably enters her life.

But in the end, it was all a lie. She didn’t even know what she was doing.

After a long silence, Severo finally spoke again, “I’ve made you porridge. Can you get up and eat in the kitchen yourself?”

Allyce turned her head to one side and ignored him. Then Severo stopped talking.

His patience seemed to have worn thin; he stood up abruptly and began to change his clothes.

It was just like what she had done after the first time she had slept with him. He ignored her and changed his clothes in front of her.

Allyce closed her eyes and covered herself with the quilt.

Shortly afterwards, the room fell silent. As he peeked his head out of the duvet, he heard a door slam. It was faint, but he heard it.

Sitting up in bed, Allyce laughed to herself; Severo had indeed disguised himself in the past, he was not so patient and no longer pretended to be.

Allyce lay in bed for a while to regain her strength, then got out of bed and headed for the kitchen.

There was hot porridge in the pot.

He looked out of the window and saw the first rays of sunlight. This proved that he had slept for a long time.

Yesterday she had got wet in the rain for a while, but when she came back she had a cold.

After stirring the porridge in the pot, he hesitated for a moment, then poured himself a bowl of porridge and brought it to the table.

The black Rolls Royce pulls up to the curb.

Severo runs down the stairs, approaches and gets into the car, but does not start it.

He slowly rolls down the window, lights a cigarette and takes a long drag.

He had managed to pass himself off as an odd, nice guy during the time he had been living with Allyce.

He did not smoke or drink, except when he worked late and came home late. He was attentive and took good care of her. He even had the illusion that he had quit smoking.

After a few cigarettes, he finally calmed down. He looked at the floor where Allyce’s house was and a melancholic trance crossed his eyes.

Remember Allyce’s words: I’d rather die at home.

Severo then takes out his mobile phone and calls, with a cold expression.

As soon as the call was answered, he shouted, “How long has it been? You haven’t finished your mission yet? If you can’t do it, you have to go back to the United States”.

On the other end of the line, Xabat was fast asleep, his head spinning. When Severo shouted, he woke up immediately: “I have to finish it today …” . Before he could finish the sentence, the busy tone of the phone rang.

The phone had hung up.

Xabat stroked his chest. He thought his boss was cuter when he spent time with Allyce.

After hanging up the phone, Severo looked back at the location of Allyce’s flat, a wistful gleam in his eye.

Wouldn’t you want to see him? I would force her to take the initiative to see him!

Imagining the scene later, Severo’s lips curved into a smile. In a good mood, he turned the car around and drove off.
