CHAPTER 34- IN LOVE
CHAPTER 34- IN LOVE
The abrupt question sent Jack into a daze; he was unable to guess why his friend was asking him
about the age difference. The boy who was currently feeling the cold breeze on his face was more
unpredictable than the weather itself so trying to guess his wild thoughts would be a sheer waste of
time. He asked, "What do you need that for?"
Ryan looked at him and said in a serious manner, "Catherine is five years younger than me."
Jack's face was still for a while as he tried to puzzle up the latter's words but it didn't take more than
two minutes for him to realize what he was up to. He sprung up on his seat and having no control over
his tone he voiced out, "Ryan, are you crazy?" Ryan sat unmoved on his seat but someone did give a
response to his sudden yelling. The driver turned back and asked, "Is there a problem, Master Jack."
Seeing that his words had grabbed the attention of the chauffeur the boy could estimate just how loud
he was a while ago. Assuring that it was alright he turned to Ryan and repeated the question in a rather
hushed tone, making sure he wasn't stirring unnecessary trouble.
People would only see age difference when it comes to one thing and it was marriage; now Jack dared
not to come to a conclusion without hearing what he was cooking up in his head. Ryan slipped into a Nôvel(D)rama.Org's content.
trance; his thoughts slowly floated back to how ethereal she looked, how different she made him feel
and how his heart used to thump inside his heart when she was around.
Even though he was just a 10 year old and barely contacted the outside world he still had some idea
about what was up with him. He had a passion for reading and had come across several stories where
either of the protagonists would feel the same as he was doing now- when they meet the love of their
life.
He realized this thing last night when he was experiencing a surreal kind of anxiety and sleeplessness.
Laying on the bed he stared at the ceiling with nothing but only thoughts of her wandering all over his
mind. At first, he was a bit repulsive about this sudden change in him; no matter how hard he tried the
girl was stubbornly clinging onto his thoughts.
Unable to cope up with his muddled mind anymore he opened his phone and logged into a server that
provided answers for people's questions. He made a fake account proclaiming himself as a 18-year-old
to get access to everything on the site. Even though he found it really lame the boy still typed out his
queries after a lot of hesitation, looking for an answer.
He jotted a post pinpointing his issue how his heart went skipping when he saw her and how he was
unable to pull her out of his mind; he was so much thinking about her that he was unable to sleep and
was pretty restless lately. He even typed out the fact that he was going to meet her tomorrow and to
make her happy he painstakingly prepared a bar of chocolate to gift her with his own hands.
After posting it out the boy only had to wait for a few minutes before comments started to flood under it.
A lot of people were sleepless around the world it seemed; Ryan scrolled through the comments and
read them carefully before his eyes flung open in shock.
"Bro, is it even something you ask? A lady in thoughts, sleepless nights, skipping heart, racing
emotions... You are in love with her, buddy."
"Looks like it's your first time in love, haha. Don't worry, I too was the same as you when I was in love
for the first time."
"You are so in love, pal. I totally agree with the above comments."
There were several more comments all chanting the same thing as the other that he was in love. Ryan
logged out of the website and slammed his laptop shut; he dropped back on his mattress and started to
wonder.
Was he in love? He had never had this kind of feeling before; there was a time when he even doubted
if he will ever fall in love or do something romantic with his life. All his life he had never had anyone he
cared for, not even his own parents. He was just a stone in human form, devoided of emotions and
feelings.
It was her, she was the only one in the past ten years who actually made his heart function. Else than
surviving and preparing himself for his uncertain future she was the first thing he thought outside the
box.
He closed his eyes and the images of her smiling at him were the only thing visible to his eyes.
Whenever he saw her shimmering smile he used to forget that the world was a cruel place, she was so
warm that she encouraged him not to vary of her. He had no idea what she saw in him but inside her,
he saw peace, that kind of happiness that nothing else in the world managed to provide him with.
Ryan slowly opened his eye, his heart was yet racing again. A mixed feeling of amusement and anger
welled up inside him. He didn't know why but he was both loving and hating this sensation within him.
She was just a kid, how could he fall for her in just a single day? He was apathetic, how on Earth could
he ever fall in love?
The boy was so confused that he yanked away his blanket and stormed out of the room; pushing open
his gym door he slipped into his exercise clothes and started throwing punches at the punching bag
hanging to be assaulted by him.
After a round of vigorous punching, Ryan sat on the bench panting and sweating. He was still not sure
what he was actually up to; he was just a 10 year old with no knowledge of certain things like romance.
He dared not to come to a conclusion without a proper answer to everything. He had to figure out if he
just cared about her or if he was... Really in love with her as the Internet and books proclaim.
