Daisy's Code Novel by Amelia Bennett

Chapter 25

Daisy stood firm, her lips pressed into a thin line, hands clenched at her sides. “Ms. Levine, that necklace isn’t just of jewelry. I need to check the security footage,” Daisy said, determination in her voice.

“Security footage?” Sherry’s eyebrows knitted together. “I can’t make that call. You’ll have to get a request form from the principal and have it approved by the headmaster before security can help you.”

“Come on, Ms. Levine,” Yvonne chimed in, playing the victim. “Daisy won’t let this go, and it won’t clear my name.”

“Your name?” Sherry turned to Yvonne, her tone sharp. “What’s really going on here?”

Yvonne said, “She insists I took her necklace.”

“No way,” Sherry said with conviction.

It was absurd to think that Yvonne, from her wealthy background, would bother with Daisy’s modest belongings.

“Ms. Levine, you believe me, but Daisy doesn’t. I’m at a loss,” Yvonne said, feigning helplessness.

“Daisy, I can assure you that Yvonne wouldn’t touch your things Sherry defended.

“Exactly, Yvonne’s family is loaded; why would she bother with your stuff? another student echoed.

Daisy felt the isolation as no one seemed to be on her side. She was the victim, yet she was being painted as the aggressor. Without waiting for Sherry to budge, Daisy decided to take action.

With her head down, Daisy swiftly exited the classroom, ignoring whatever Sherry was shouting behind her.

“Ms. Levine, my sister might be too anxious. Let me go find her and apologize on her behalf, Laura offered, stepping in to defuse the situation.

“Alright, let’s get back to class. Someone, help me turn on the projector, Sherry instructed, trying to regain control.

As the projector flickered to life, the lesson plan on the screen vanished, replaced by a surveillance video. The footage was crystal clear, capturing every move Yvonne and her friends had made.

Narston High, being a prestigious school, often received investments from the wealthy parents of its students, so the equipment was state-of-the-art. The high-definition video left no room for doubt. Every move Yvonne made, down to the expressions on her face, was crystal clear.

“Wow, I never would have guessed. Yvonne would even go after Daisy’s things,” a student murmured in shock. Yvonne, meanwhile, kept her head down, her shoulders shaking, and her breathing rapid, clearly very nervous.

“Yvonne, you wanted proof. I’ve brought appearing at the door with a laptop.

forward, and now everyone’s watching. I don’t think you can deny it, Daisy said,

“Daisy, you’re causing a disruption. I demand you turn off the video right now!” Sherry tried to regain control, despite the Eevidence before them.

Daisy looked at the flustered Ms. Levine, a scornful smile tugging at her lips. “Ms. Levine, didn’t you just guarantee that Yvonne wouldn’t touch my things? Or didn’t you see clearly in the video?”

Sherry recalled her own confident words just moments ago, heard by all the students, and felt her face flush with embarrassment, unsure of what to do.Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

“Yvonne, return what you took from me!” Daisy demanded, her voice rising.

“Sis, is there some misunderstanding? I don’t think Yvonne would steal your things, Laura said, reluctantly standing up for her friend.

“Laura, please use your head. The truth is right in front of us. What, are you saying this could be a video I made up myself?” Daisy retorted, causing Laura’s face to redden.

Laura was in a tough spot. She didn’t want to get involved, but Yvonne was her friend, and an enemy of Daisy’s.

“Yvonne, hand over what you took from me,” Daisy said, her patience wearing thin.

“Ha, Daisy, what are you so proud of?” Since everyone had seen, Yvonne admitted it.

Daisy gazed at Yvonne with cold eyes, her gaze sharp as a blade, piercing Yvonne.

“How could Yvonne do this? With her family’s wealth, what can’t she buy? Why would she…” classmates began to murmur.

“She’s always had it in for Daisy; probably did this out of spite, another student added.

The room filled with chatter as the classmates started to gossip.

“Enough, who are you to judge me? Aren’t you all just fair-weather friends?” Yvonne was nearly frantic, her eyes wide, chest. heaving.

“Yvonne, return Daisy’s stuff, Sherry said, her voice firm. Even though she favored Yvonne, the eyes of the class were upon them.

Sherry added, “Yvonne, if you don’t apologize and make this right, I’ll have to call your father to school.”
