Contract Marriage With The Disabled CEO By Woody Rain Chapter 29
Chapter 29
Chapter 29 Crisis (1)
Looking at her pale face, Jeffrey felt like being seized by the heart.
But at the thought of what he saw last night, his anger emerged again.
“What do I want?” Jeffrey sneered. “Betty, you did so many shameless things and I can’t even talk about them?”
“What I did has nothing to do with you!”
“I determine whether it has something to do with me or not,” Jeffrey’s tone turned stern. “Betty, you know what? I will never forgive you!”
Betty was pale.
She finally knew why Jeffrey wanted her to be on the business trip with him.
He was trying to humiliate her and torture her in every way.
After arriving in Houston, Jeffrey asked Betty to go with him and eat with some people from that
magazine.
Betty hated such dinners, but Jeffrey was her boss. She couldn’t refuse, so she summoned up courage and went with him.
At the dinner table, Betty was the only woman and inevitably became the focus. Those men all wanted to toast her, and Jeffrey didn’t stop them, as if she were here to drink for him. In less than
an hour, Betty had drunk a lot of beer and white wine.
“Oh, Jeffrey, your secretary is really a belle.” The editor in chief from this magazine was an old man in his forties, fat and nasty. He simply couldn’t take his eyes off Betty.
“Really?” Jeffrey didn’t tell him Betty’s identity, but showed a faint smile. “If you like her, you can
have her.”
Betty was constrained at such dinners. She kept her head down. Hearing Jeffrey’s words, she shook
all over and looked at him with shock. Then she saw that he was looking at her with a sneer.
“Haha,” Cooper was even more excited. “You’re a real joker!”
“I’m serious. I’m trying to show my sincerity in fostering our cooperation,” Jeffrey said flatteringly. “Betty, what are you waiting for? Why don’t you pour some wine for Cooper?”
Betty couldn’t believe that this slick man in front of her was the guy she once loved.
She clearly remembered that Jeffrey was a boy who blushed when talking to strangers. Why did he become such a person?
Was time enough to change a person, or did she never really know him?
“Betty…” Seeing Betty motionless, Jeffrey looked colder.”Did you hear me? Pour some wine for Cooper!”
Betty looked at Cooper beside her, who was sizing her up with small lustful eyes. She felt really sick, but she knew that she couldn’t refuse and embarrass Jeffrey here. So, she had to stand up reluctantly.
“Cooper…” She forced a smile. “I hope we can have a smooth and successful cooperation.”
“Oh, that’s sweet.” Betty handed over the wine, and Cooper took the opportunity to grab her hand. “Betty, you are over-polite. Don’t worry. I’ll take good care of you and make that happen.”
Being grabbed by Cooper’s fat hand, Betty felt like throwing up. She wanted to retract her hand but
he held her hand tightly.
Cooper touched her fair hand lewdly and anger emerged inside Jeffrey at the sight of this.
“ED Cooper.” He immediately picked up his glass. “Here’s to you.”
Cooper reluctantly let go of Betty’s hand and turned to Jeffrey. Betty quickly stood up and told them that she wanted to go to the bathroom.
She didn’t think she was drunk, but when she stood up, she found that she was so dizzy and couldn’t
even steady herself.
She washed her face in the bathroom, and felt even more uncomfortable. Her stomach churned and
her fever was more serious. Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
Damn it.
She cursed inwardly.
She didn’t know what was wrong with Jeffrey. He hated her before, and he seemed to detest her more. What happened?
Betty rubbed her sore temples and managed to walk out of the bathroom leaning on the wall.
The dinner was really dangerous. Jeffrey seemed to be out of his mind and would do anything he wanted. Betty had a bad forebode at the thought of Cooper’s lustful eyes. For safety, she thought she’d better text Jeffrey and tell him that she was going back to the hotel.
With this in mind, she came out of the bathroom, and then a nasty voice sounded behind her.
“Oh, Betty, what took you so long? I have been waiting here for you for a long time.”
Betty’s heart sank. She turned around and saw Cooper leaning against the door of the bathroom. He was apparently waiting for her.
Betty was a little flustered, but she pretended to be calm, saying, “Cooper, you also came here to use the bathroom, huh?”
“No, I didn’t.” Cooper walked up to her, breathing alcohol fumes all over her. “I, your Prince Charming, am waiting for you.”
Betty almost threw up.
Prince Charming?
Cooper was almost as old as her father. He couldn’t be more shameless.
“Cooper, you are really a joker.” She forced a smile and wanted to go back into the bathroom leaning on the wall.
However, Cooper suddenly grabbed her wrist. “Oh, Betty, why are you hiding from me? Don’t you like me?”
