Chapter 87
“There’s another elephant in the room. The MC. I know while you’re a prospect you have no choice. They say jump, you jump. You don’t get to ask questions or get details ahead of time. Dad helped me understand how you’re held at a higher standard due to your dad being Prez.” She explained.
“Yeah.” He agreed.
“And how bad it would look if you disobeyed. I get that, I really do. But it doesn’t help with the hurt I feel every time I feel when the club comes before me. Makes me feel second best, like I don’t matter.” She replied.
“Baby that is farthest from the truth.” He denied.
“I know, I don’t like feeling like that. I know it has to be that way for now, but it still really hurts. Especially since this is my senior year. It’s supposed to be the best time of my school experience. Supposed to be one hell of a year. But so far, it’s totally sucked.” Hanna explained.
“Baby, you are and will always be number one with me. Yes, if the club hollers, I have to follow. I don’t have a choice. But think of it just like a job. And just know it’s not forever. And if it were life or death, you would be first before the club.” He explained.
“If I had to choose losing you or the club, I’d walk, it would be you I’d choose. Baby I know your year hasn’t been great, if I could change it I would. But hang in there, not much longer, I promise.” He pleaded.
Hanna sighed. “I know. We’ll get through it together. It’s not going to be easy, and I’m going to get emotional and angry. But I’ll always choose you too.” She promised.
“So, we’re good?” He asked.
“Yep, unless you have anything you need to get off your chest?” Hanna asked.
“Only that I love you. I’m gonna marry you and give you babies, in the far future of course. We’ve got plenty of time.” He smiled then kissed her.
“I love you too.” Hanna smiled.
Things have been going well for all of them. Prom was fast approaching. Hanna and Jasmine have gotten their dresses and planned the date out. The guys even reserved tuxes for the big night.
Hanna’s dress was a pretty silver shimmery strapless dress that fell just mid-thigh like a bodycon dress. Jasmine’s had spaghetti straps and was nude with blue sparkles all over it in the right places. It made the sparkles look like they were just covering parts of her body.
The big night finally came. The girls had their hair and nails done and were in the process of getting dressed.
“Have you heard from Maddox?” Hanna asked.
“No. You heard from Mav?” Jasmine asked.
“No.” Hanna replied.
“I’m going to call mom. See if she’s heard anything.” Jasmine replied.
Jasmine called her mom Raine. She promised to see if she could find out anything. An hour passed and it was time to leave for the prom. No one had heard anything, so the girls decided to go on to prom without the guys.
“Another milestone ruined.” Hanna sighed.
“Yes. I’m getting so sick of this shit. All me and Maddox do is argue and he is constantly saying sorry.” Jasmine replied.
“But sorry doesn’t help the pain or take away the feeling that you’re not important enough, does it?” Hanna asked.
“Nope.” Jasmine agreed.
They got in Jasmine’s car and headed to the school. Just as they parked in the high school parking lot, Jasmine’s phone rang.
“Hey mom.” Jasmine answered.
“Honey? Where are you?” Raine asked.
“We just got to the school.” Jasmine replied.
“Ok try not to panic, but your brother is at the hospital. He got shot, but your dad said he’s fine.” Raine explained.
“And Maddox?” Jasmine asked.
“He’s fine. Just get to the hospital. I’m on my way too.” Raine replied.
Jasmine had held the phone between her and Hanna’s ear so she could hear. Hanna was freaking out so Jasmine quickly drove to the hospital. The waiting room was full of the Vet and Joker MC brothers.Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
Some were bruised and wore signs of being in a fight. You could tell one hell of a fight must have gone down. Jasmine ran up to Maddox and he wrapped her in his arms.
“Oh my God Maddox! Why didn’t you call me? I was going out of my mind!” Jazz retorted.
“Sorry baby. My phone got busted.” Maddox explained.
“Mav?” Hanna asked.
“He’s in surgery. Bullet was lodged in his right shoulder, but the doctor was optimistic that it didn’t hit anything major. Sam’s back there now getting us an update.” Raine explained.
Hanna sat down and Jasmine sat beside her holding her hand. A few hours later they had Mav in a room. Raine, Jax, Jasmine, and Hanna went in to see him.
“So, son, how you doing?” Jax asked.
“Feeling really good right now. They gave me some awesome drugs.” Mav smirked.
“We’ll talk later.” Jax replied.
“Honey, you need anything?” Raine asked.
“I’m good mom.” Mav replied.
After a while everyone left except Hanna. She had been by his side the whole time holding his hand. Mav pulled her hand making her come closer to him. ”
Sorry I ruined your prom. You look so fucking hot too. At least I got to see you in your dress.” He smiled.
Tears ran down Hanna’s face. “You just worry about getting better.”
“Baby don’t cry.” Mav begged.
“I can’t help it, I, I, I was soo scared.” She stuttered.
“Shhh, it’s ok. I’m fine. I’m here with you.” Mav promised.
“I’ve never been so scared in my life! I couldn’t handle losing you.” Hanna cried.
“Not gonna happen baby. You’re stuck with me.” He grinned.
“Promise?” Hanna asked.
“Yes. At least the next six weeks you’ll be stuck with me every day. No way dad would send me anywhere while I’m healing. Besides, we took care of the problem tonight finally.” Maverick explained.
“Thank God for that at least!” Hanna replied.
“Now, climb up in this bed with me so I can hold you.” Maverick demanded.
Hanna sighed. “Ok. But first I need to tell you something. And you’re not going to like it. In fact, you’re probably going to be really pissed at me. And I’m sorry I keep it from you just know that.” Hanna pleaded.
“Ok you’re really scaring me. Spit it out.” Maverick demanded.
