CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery

Chapter 1263

Nearly fifteen minutes had passed when Eugene finally emerged.

His expression hadn't changed. He was calm and unreadable, just as it had been when he went in. There was no hint of whether the deal had gone through or not. Everyone around was left speculating.

"I bet it didn't go through. You know how Mr. Quincy is. He's easygoing most of the time, but once he sets his mind on something, he doesn't let go."

"Who knows? Maybe it worked out after all."

"Ha! Care to place a bet on it?"

With no official word from Quincy, the employees could only guess. But Lydia had a different approach. She could just ask.

When she entered the office, there was an unopened file on Quincy's desk, next to a pen that seemed freshly used. Her heart skipped a beat.

Had the rumors been true? Did he really agree to work with Eugene?

Lydia, feeling a surge of anxiety, took a deep breath and decided to ask directly. There was no point in dwelling on assumptions when she could face the truth head-on. "Quincy, did you agree to Eugene's proposal?" Quincy looked up from his desk, noticing the direction of her gaze. Without a word, he reached for the file and tore it in half.

Lydia was stunned. "You... you just ripped it up?"

He nodded, his voice calm. "It was the transfer deed for the Southland property."

"You tore up a deed for Southland?" Lydia asked, her surprise deepening.

She had heard of the wealth and potential in the Southland area, and the company had just held a meeting about making it their next target. They were prepared to pay top dollar for a piece of that land to expand their reach and boost the company's reputation.

But here Quincy was, casually discarding an opportunity they had been chasing for months.

"It could've saved the company a fortune." Lydia whispered, still processing.

Quincy looked at her with a steady gaze. "I didn't need his offer. We've got people handling the auction, and we'll get what we need."

Lydia felt a deep ache in her chest, knowing Quincy was doing all of this for her. Without another word, she turned and wrapped her arms around him.

"You don't need to worry about it," Quincy said softly, holding her close. "We'll get the property on our terms."

Before Lydia could respond, Quincy's phone rang. She started to pull away, but he gently held her in place while answering the call.

"Mom," he said quietly.

Hearing that, Lydia stiffened in his arms.

Quincy's hand rested on her back, softly reassuring her. But then, she overheard Mrs. Perez's voice through the phone. "Quincy, when are you going to divorce Lydia?" Lydia felt like a bucket of cold water had just been dumped over her, chilling her to the bone.

Quincy frowned. "Mom, why are you still saying that? The rumors have already died down."

"Rumors or not, those pictures were real! Don't try to tell me they were edited. I've lived long enough to know the difference. I even had one of my students look at them. There's no sign they were doctored. That 'clarification' was a joke."

Mrs. Perez paused before
