Chapter 22
Sydney was astonished beyond words, she didn’t know what her offense was as she stood still like a concrete statue.
“What crime have I committed this time around?, Why does he use every given opportunity to disdain me?” She asked herself confusingly.NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
“Get out of my office!!” Paxton fired at her and she stared at him in bewilderment as her legs wobbled because she hated the sound of his yellings with utmost passion.
“What wrong have I done?” She asked herself a rhetorical question.
“I said leave my sight!!!” He yelled again, a bit louder this time around and she hurried out of his office like a frightened kitten without looking back.
She reached Dana’s office and Dana sneered at her, obviously she had been eavesdropping on their “not peaceful conversation.
“Is he doing this intentionally or I offended him in a way or two?” She questioned herself as she walked towards her table.
The day went on and Sydney had a pretty hard time as she had loads of work to attend to and working with Paxton was another hell of a task after the incident that took place a few hours back.
She was engulfed with boredom at some point when she took a few minute breaks from work. She rounded up the leftover tasks on her desk as she stood up and took the route which led to her favorite spot in the company.
She reached the rooftop and sat down, looking at the beautiful view of the city from that weird and peaceful position.
She began wondering what she did to Paxton that makes him treat her sternly at any given opportunity.
Jaxton stood at a point and watched her closely and felt she was giving so much attention to the boring looking bustling city.
She was lost in deep thoughts and didn’t notice Jaxton who squatted behind her like the pest she acknowledges him as at all times.
She stared at him and fixed her gaze on the point it was previously.
He noticed she wasn’t in a good mood but was the least ready to let her be.
He brushed the strands of her lush hair that were being messed up by the wind behind her ear as he felt the silky texture.
She just let him play with it as she didn’t have the strength to barter words with him at the moment.
“Fixing your whole attention on this boring scene of moving cars, pedestrians and some giant looking buildings as if it can hold a candle for my handsomeness” he whispered in her ears.
She paid a deaf ear to his flirts and continued staring at the horizon.
“I can actually show you something better” he said, brushing his lips slightly against her ears.
Sydney wasn’t in the mood to have a chit chat with him so she stood up and took a stance which screamed “movement” before taking some strides away from the point.
Jaxton noticed it and hurried behind her as he pulled her hand back and she turned around, losing balance and gripping his shirt.
Her lips brushed against his as he used the opportunity to hold her slender waist with mischievous thoughts in his mind.
He licked her lips as she pulled away and glared at him.
Sydney didn’t expect the kiss as she struggled to wiggle out of Jaxton’s hold but all her efforts were futile against a stumbling block like him.
He pulled her closer again and sealed her lips arrogantly and ferociously.
