Burned Once, Never Again (Niamh and Castiel)

Chapter 95

Despite being willing to let her do as she pleased, Simon made it a priority to keep Niamh safe.

Niamh couldn't bring herself to refuse, and her heart overflowed with gratitude for Simon. Whether it was in this life or her previous one, not even Castiel, who claimed to love her more than anyone else, had done this, leaving her to face this mess alone. In this life, Simon was constantly watching over her. The protection from her family brought her immense comfort.

"Alright, I understand." Niamh accepted Simon's kindness. Her demeanor was cold and distant as she sat in her office.

No sooner had Simon ended the call than Renee called. Niamh chose

not to answer, as she could already imagine how Renee would berate and lecture her over the phone.

Her phone rang again right after she'd declined the call. Niamh

continued to do so again.

Renee: "Come back to Jamison Manor right now, or Billie might have to leave Greenburg for good!"

Niamh was furious when she read the text. It was so like the

Jamisons to threaten others and use any means to force people into submission. In the end, Niamh returned to Jamison Manor in her Bugatti Veyron.

Tilda, Renee's housekeeper, was waiting outside. When she spotted her car, she assumed it was Naomi and greeted it with fawning deference. However, when she saw Niamh emerge from the vehicle, her expression shifted from disdain to shock. Niamh's expression turned cold when she noticed Tilda because she

had contributed greatly to the strained relationship between her and

Renee.

"Oh, you're finally here! Madam Jamison has been waiting for you since early this morning, wondering what could possibly be keeping you so busy." In other words, what could be so important that she made her elder wait?

Niamh was shorter than Tilda. She used to seem so small and insignificant, as if anyone could boss her around. But now, she stood tall and proud, and her cold gaze made Tilda flinch.

"Who are you waiting for?" Niamh asked apathetically. It was a far cry from her usual demeanor at Jamison Manor.

"Madam Jamison told me to wait here for Ms. Lawson. Apparently, they have plans to bake together," Tilda responded curtly, intending to jar on Niamh.

After all, it was no secret in Jamison Manor that Naomi was the future lady of the family. Everyone there had come to terms with it.

Consequently, they were all vying for the favor of the future lady of the house, treating Niamh even more poorly.

However, to her surprise, instead of being upset, Niamh sneered. "I had no idea she was into baking now."

Tilda was surprised that she'd addressed Renee as if they were equals. Whatever happened to her respect for her elders? By the time she regained her composure, Niamh had already gone inside.

Despite her foul mood, Renee tried her best to be patient with the woman she had chosen as her future daughter-in-law. She had assumed that Naomi had arrived. The gentle smile on her face disappeared as soon as she saw it was Niamh. "You wretched little thing!" she cursed, hurling her coffee mug at Niamh. Niamh tilted her head just in time, and the mug smashed

against the wall behind her, shattering into pieces.

Renee was absolutely livid. "Do you think you're destined to be the lady of this house just because Castiel got your back?"

Renee was upset that she was bold enough to dodge now, unlike

before, when she would have never dared.NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.

Niamh used to be very deferential to everyone in Jamison Manor. It had led them to believe they could use her as a punching bag whenever they wanted. Now that she was standing up for herself, they were thrown off. "Honestly, I couldn't give a damn about being the lady of the house!" Niamh spat out.
