Blind Date Turned Proposal

Chapter 1364 Checking Flight Schedules

The new plan was first presented to Laura for review. After she had examined it, she specifically summoned Hector. "Josie is incredibly talented. Those who didn't know better might assume she's a veteran in the venture capital business."

After Hector finished reviewing the proposal, a look of surprise emerged on his face. "This is indeed impressive. Are you sure you've never had any experience with venture capital before?"

"Not to say never, but I haven't done it in many years."This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.

Hector nodded, his admiration apparent, yet a hint of jealousy was also subtly revealed.

"Go with this one. Meet up with Morgan once more and present it to him. I'll be waiting for your good news."

"I'm going alone?"

"That's right. You'll be in charge of this project." Laura turned to Hector and said, "You may leave now."

In the end, Hector did leave, but it was evident that he was not pleased.

"If you take away his rights like this, he will end up hating me."

"Only the capable should be in power. Besides, Josie, do you really think that no one in the company had any objections to you after our last gathering?" Laura sighed. "I'm just trying to pave the way for you." Josie didn't quite understand, seeming a bit slow on the uptake. She flashed a charming smile and said, "Thank you for that, Laura."

When she arranged to meet Morgan again, he was no longer in Wavery. She waited for a long time in Eccentric Corporation's lobby before receiving an update. "Ms. Warren, Mr. Bastille has flown to Newcove today. I'm afraid you'll have to wait until he returns."

The man's voice stirred Josie's vigilance. "Who are you?"

"My name is Ryan."

It's him. Josie inhaled sharply. "Tell me his flight number. We'll settle your matter when I get back."

Ryan was somewhat taken aback. "I can't tell you."

Josie immediately hung up.

When Mallory received the call, her voice was trembling. "J-Jo..."

"What's wrong with you?"

"I'm at the Barrett residence, about to meet his family. I'm so nervous I can hardly stand."

Josie was happy for Mallory, saying, "That's wonderful." Their relationship has finally come to fruition after all these years.

"What's so great about this? The Barrett family holds such power and prestige. Everyone in the family has their own set of grievances against me. I'm scared to death."

"All right, okay. In that case, you can help me look up a flight number to ease your tension a bit," Josie said.

Mallory was left baffled by the response.

Five minutes later, Josie received a message with Morgan's flight number. At the same time, she also received an angry voice message from Mallory, who spoke through gritted teeth. "Josie, you're quite something."

Morgan's flight to Newcove was set to depart in an hour. Without a second thought, Josie immediately hailed a cab and headed for the airport without any hesitation.

She was fortunate enough to snag the last available plane ticket. After successfully passing through security, she made her way into the business class cabin.

Everyone inside the cabin carried

themselves with dignity and poise, except for Josie, who was in a frantic hurry and appeared quite out of place. She clutched her laptop and navigated through the rows of seats, finally settling in the fast row.

The man in front of her, sporting sunglasses and a hat with his leg casually crossed over the other, took off his sunglasses the moment he noticed her standing there, refusing to leave. "Miss, you-"

He abruptly stopped talking.

Morgan was caught in disbelief. "Josie?"

After ten minutes, Josie finally caught her breath and turned on her computer. "The flight to Newcove is two hours. That's plenty of time for me to explain the proposal to you." Morgan remained seated, laughing in disbelief, feeling as if he had been kidnapped. "I never said I wouldn't cooperate with you. What's the rush?"

"You're so unpredictable. I'm worried you might change your mind. It's better to settle things sooner."

Josie's plan was clear-cut. An hour was all she needed to lay out her ideas. After closing her laptop, she felt a sense of relief wash over her.

Morgan, however, was gazing out the plane's window, somewhat lost in thought.

"Morgan, did you even hear what I said?"
