Sean frowned and shook his head. “Are you asking that because of my behavior towards. Victoria? Because if that’s the reason, it means I have some pretty good acting skills,” he replied calmly.

Rebecca didn’t respond because she knew Sean’s words made sense, even though, to be honest, he had sounded terrifying earlier. After finishing their meal, they quickly left Ai Fiori.

“Um, I’m going straight home,” Cassie said once they were in the lobby of the Langham hotel where Ai Fiori is located.

“Okay, you’ve sent your bank account number, right?” Rebecca asked, not wanting Cassie to do everything for free.

Cassie shook her head. “You don’t need to pay me again, Becky. Angela already did,” she said with a grin, glancing at Angela.

Rebecca stared in surprise. “Angela, you can’t pay for everything, it makes me feel uncomfortable,” she said seriously.

Angela waved her hand dismissively. “Nonsense! I want to for

pay wedding, what’s wrong with that? Besides, it’s a one–time thing, I mean, hopefully, this

my children’s will be the last marriage for both of you,” she said, looking at Rebecca and Sean alternately.

Rebecca just grimaced; of course, she didn’t share the same prayer as Angela.

“You two go home, I’ll head straight to the hotel and then back to Boston,” Angela said, shooing Rebecca and Sean into their car.

“What? We’re going to take you to the hotel and then to the airport, I won’t take no for an answer,” Rebecca said firmly, finding it impossible to let her elderly mother–in–law do everything herself when the reason for her visit to New York was to take care of their wedding.

“Unfortunately, I already have my own ride,” Angela said, winking. Rebecca and Sean looked at the car that had just stopped behind theirs, with a man of Angela’s age behind the wheel.

“That’s my friend, Ed. Give me a hug, make sure you come home every Thanksgiving

and Christmas,” Angela said, hugging Scan and Rebecca in turn, then kissing Lily’s head. gently.

“Angela, thank you so much!” Rebecca said, holding Angela’s hand before she got into.

the car.

Angela shook her head. “Don’t. I owe you a lifetime of gratitude,” she whispered. She lifted Rebecca’s hand and kissed it, her eyes welling up. This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

“Becky, my Uber’s here, thanks for letting me be part of your wedding crew, such an honor,” Cassie said sincerely.

“I should be the one thanking you, say hi to everyone at Becky Brushes for me, take care, Cassie.” Rebecca quickly hugged Cassic and watched her get into the Uber.

“Done, shall we?” Sean said, waving to Cassie.

Rebecca nodded and jumped into the car. She checked on Lily, who was sleeping soundly in the back, then leaned her tired back against the seat.

“Tell me what’s on your mind?” Sean suddenly asked while keeping his eyes on the road.

Rebecca took a deep breath and shook her head. “I don’t know, it’s complicated, but at least we’re married now,” she replied flatly. She was quite surprised that her feelings. became even more chaotic after they were officially married.

‘That’s because you met Harvey earlier, a voice in her head chimed in.

“I’ll tell my lawyer to change Lily’s last name, after this everything will go back to normal. You can do anything without worrying that Victoria will do something to you or Lily,” Sean chattered cheerfully.

Rebecca grimaced, “Yeah, I hope so, but I think Alicia will never stop. I think she has marked me as her eternal enemy.” Talking about Alicia reminded her of their earlier meeting. Alicia’s hand wrapped around Harvey’s arm, her head resting on his broad shoulder. She felt sick to her stomach, how could Harvey do that to her? If only they hadn’t come back and had their second wedding.

‘Okay, Becky, you have to stop! At least your second marriage brought Lily into the world, another voice retorted.

“Becky? All good?” Sean interrupted, noticing the odd expression on Rebecca’s face.

“Yeah, just me, myself, and 1.”

Sean chuckled. “Is there anything you want to buy before we get home?” he asked casually. Rebecca suddenly shivered, as the conversation really made their vibes feel like a married couple.

“In this wedding dress? No,” Rebecca replied half–jokingly. After that, her mood improved a bit. She tried hard to dismiss all the bad thoughts in her head about Sean and decided to focus on their future.

Once home, a tired Rebecca went straight to her bedroom. She took care of Lily and made sure she was well–fed before heading to the bathroom to clean herself.

While soaking, her thoughts returned to Harvey. His handsome, charismatic face, his ideal body, the perfect contour of his jawline, and his warm smile, all of which she couldn’t find in any other man.

Call her crazy, but she missed the touch of the jerk who had dumped her. She took a deep breath, trying hard not to touch herself while imagining Harvey because, for her. it would be a betrayal of herself.

She initially wanted to go straight to sleep but felt too restless, so she decided to go to the bar and pour herself a glass of wine to calm her mind.

Not long after, Sean came out wearing only a towel around his waist, causing Rebecca to instinctively look away.

Sean was startled. “Sorry, I thought you were asleep!” he exclaimed, panicking and hiding behind a chair, though it didn’t rally hide his broad, bare chest.

“Sorry, I can’t sleep, so-” Rebecca showed her wine glass to Sean but kept her face. turned away, trying hard not to look at her husband’s broad chest.

Sean cleared his throat, “Okay, I’ll just-” he pointed towards his room and quickly walked back there.

Rebecca sighed deeply. She couldn’t imagine the days ahead if they continued to get involved in such awkward situations.

Not long after, she heard footsteps approaching, and Sean reappeared, fully dressed. “I’m sorry,” he said again. “Won’t happen again,” he added, trying to reassure Rebecca.

Rebecca chuckled,

“Weird, isn’t it?” she murmured, suddenly remembering the early days of her marriag to Harvey. She could still clearly recall how cold Harvey was and how their first year of marriage was hell. Although the following two years weren’t great, at least Harvey saw her as a woman, even if not the woman he loved.

“Becky? Are you listening to me?” Sean asked louder.

Rebecca snapped out of it, “Sorry, what did you say? I’m a bit sleepy,” she replied, of course not admitting that she was busy thinking about Harvey. After all, she had to consider Sean’s feelings even though he might not be jealous, they were still husband

and wife.

Sean cleared his throat softly,

“I think we need to go on a honeymoon,” he repeated what Rebecca hadn’t heard earlier.

“What? Honeymoon? You and me?” Rebecca stared in shock. She reflexively tightened the collar of her pajamas, as if she felt violated just by those words.
