Chapter 83
“What happened?” Sean asked tensely.
“Cassie said someone trashed our wedding venue. She’s checking the CCTV now, but I’m sure Alicia is behind this,” Rebecca replied, gripping her phone with trembling hands in anger.
“What’s wrong with her? Shouldn’t she be happy you married another man and not Harvey?” Sean muttered in confusion.
“She’s hated me from the start, truly hated me. She doesn’t like the paparazzi chasing me and putting me in the spotlight. She wants to destroy me, even though she’s already gotten what she wanted,” Rebecca said, turning her face to the window.
Her phone vibrated again shortly after.
“Cassie?”
“Becky, you don’t need to come,” Cassie said, holding back tears. Rebecca straightened up. “Cassie, what happened? Where’s Angela?
“They left. All the guests left the venue, I don’t know why. Here, I’ll pass you to Angela,” Cassie replied.
“Becky, just come back home. I’m sorry, this is out of my control, I really don’t know what’s going on. I’m sorry,” Angela said, struggling to hold back her tears.
Rebecca felt her chest swell with rage. “No, Sean, Lily, and I will still come. Wait there and report the vandalism to the authorities.”
“Is it that bad?” Sean asked, confused.
“All the guests left without any clear reason. I don’t know how bad the damage is, but from what Cassie and Angela said, it sounds pretty bad,” Rebecca said, so angry that her whole body was trembling.
Sean sighed deeply. “Have you checked social media? Maybe Harvey and Alicia’s wedding got canceled, and that made Alicia furious,” he said flatly.
Rebecca’s stomach churned instantly. Sean’s words ignited a hope in her mind that Harvey and Alicia’s wedding might have been called off. She quickly shook her head, realizing her naivety. She had to let go of any hope for reconciliation with Harvey.

“Bitch!” Rebecca cursed, causing Sean to turn jo her.
“Are they married?” Sean asked curiously.
“That bitch is wearing my dress, the one she stole from the boutique! I’m so done with her. I’ll expose everything to the public! This is enough!” Rebecca ranted, her breath coming in angry gasps.
Sean sighed deeply, then reached out and gently rubbed Rebecca’s shoulder, trying to calm her down.
Suddenly, Lily, who had been sleeping in the baby car seat, started crying loudly, Rebecca and Scan turned in surprise.
“Sorry, baby, mommy talked too loud! We’ll be there in a minute, okay?”
A few minutes later, they arrived at the restaurant building that was supposed to be their wedding lunch venue. Rebecca quickly jumped out of the car to calm Lily.
“She seems hungry. I’ll make her some milk, Sean said. His hands deftly took out the milk from the bag.
“Let’s get in, I’ll carry her,” Sean said, taking Lily from Rebecca’s arms and holding her while feeding her the bottle.
Rebecca walked into the restaurant with a tenke face.
“Becky!” Cassie shouted when she saw Rebecca enter through the front door.
Rebecca looked up and saw Cassie and Angela sitting on one of the sofas with gloomy faces.
“Upstairs,” Cassie said, understanding from Rebecca’s gaze that she wanted to see the place that should have been their wedding lunch venue.
Rebecca quickly climbed the spiral staircase with Sean following behind her. Some restaurant staff started whispering and pointing at her.

Rebecca’s eyes widened when she saw the trashed venue. Some chairs and tables were even broken, thrown far from where they should have been.
“CCTV?” she asked Cassie.
“None, they covered all the cameras with paper,” Cassie replied gloomily. “And the bad news is we have to compensate for all the damages because the restaurant is blaming us,” she added, frowning sadly.
Rebecca took a deep breath, closed her eyes, feeling her head pounding.
“This is insane. Alicia can do all this and get away with it. Isn’t this unfair?” Rebecca ranted in despair. She turned to Cassie, “I don’t understand, when exactly did this vandalism happen?”
“When we arrived, everything was already ruined. The restaurant manager has contacted the NYPD; I think they’re handling it,” Cassie replied.
“And why did the guests leave just like that?” Sean interjected, still holding Lily in his
arms.
“Angela asked one of her friends from the community, and she said-
“She said what?” Rebecca demanded impatiently as Cassie hesitated.
“There was a rumor spreading to avoid eating anything at your wedding because the food might be poisoned by your haters…”
Rebecca closed her eyes, trying not to scream because of Lily.
“Excuse me, can I meet the manager or someone from the NYPD?” Rebecca asked one of the staff passing by.
“Yes, ma’am!”
Rebecca turned and saw two officers walking towards her.
“Did you find anything, sir?” Rebecca asked, not hiding her annoyance.
“Nothing, not even a fingerprint. We’ll check the surrounding CCTV and update you if we find anything,” the officer said, stifling a yawn.
