“What happened?” Sean asked, surprised by the change in Rebecca’s expression, then his eyes fell on her phone. “Did they say something bad about you? I mean, your followers?”

Rebecca swallowed hard and showed Sean Alicia’s message.

“Don’t worry, as long as I’m by your side, no one will hurt you or Lily. So just sit back. and enjoy your lunch,” Sean said very calmly.

Rebecca nodded, though deep inside she became a bit anxious knowing Alicia had found out that she was in the same city. She tried to eat her dessert calmly and push all the negative thoughts out of her mind.

“I told you it was her!” a girl exclaimed from a few feet away. Rebecca looked up, startled. Before she could react, two girls suddenly half–ran towards her.

“Becky? You’re Becky, right? I just saw your story about the ravioli!” exclaimed one of the

girls, who looked to be under twenty, nervously.

Rebecca opened her mouth in surprise, glancing at Sean and clearly seeing the proud smirk on his face.

“Um, yeah, I am,” Rebecca replied, smiling slightly.

“Can we have a picture with you?” the girl asked shyly.

“Of course,” Rebecca said, standing up and positioning herself between the two girls.

“Give me your phone, and I’ll take the picture” Sean said cheerfully.

“Thank

you. Oh my God, you’re even prettier in real life! Even without makeup!” one of the girls exclaimed after taking the photo with Rebecca.

“Thank you,” Rebecca said softly, feeling a bit self–conscious since she hadn’t felt as confident after giving birth.

“See? You have influence, Becky. You just don’t know how to use it. If I were you, I’d use that influence as a weapon for self–protection. So from now on, don’t underestimate yourself.” Sean winked, trying to boost Rebecca’s confidence.

Rebecca smiled and said, “Thank you, Sean. I mea

They headed back to the condo afterward so Lily could get enough rest.

“Um, Sean, I’m going to rest in my room, and for now, Lily will sleep with me. I don’t think I can be away from her,” Rebecca said, Hiding the fact that she was afraid someone might take Lily from her.

“Sure, we have an intercom system between the rooms, so you can press button 3 to connect to my room if you need me. Have a good rest,” Sean replied before turning and heading to his room.

Rebecca entered the master bedroom that would be hers and felt touched by how Sean prioritized her and Lily as if they weren’t just in a contract marriage.

She fed Lily, changed her diaper, and put her to sleep in the crib she had moved from Lily’s room. She looked at the clothes she was wearing and realized she didn’t have any other clothes to wear. With a heavy heart, she opened the walk–in closet door and was shocked to see neatly arranged clothes, shoes, and bags. She tried one on and found that everything was her size.

“Are all these for me?” she muttered in disbelief.

She quickly picked up the intercom on the nightstand and pressed number 3. After the third ring, Sean answered.

“Yes, Becky?” Sean responded promptly.

“Um, are the things in the walk–in closet from the previous tenant or-

“They’re yours. My mother picked them out for you. She had her former personal shopper buy everything for you. Don’t get me wrong, Angela Parker was a fashionista in her day, and I’m sure she picked out some classy and good–quality items for you,” Sean replied cheerfully.

Rebecca was stunned, gaping for a few seconds, at a loss for words. Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.

“Oh my God…” Those were the only words that escaped Rebecca’s lips. After ending the call with Sean, she quickly contacted Angela.

“Becky, dear! How was New York?” Angela greeted cheerfully.

“Great. Um, Angela, I want to thank you for going through all the trouble to prepare everything for me and Lily,” Rebecca said, her voice choked with emotion.

“No worries! You and Lily are part of the Parker family. I was happy to do it, so no nee to thank me, okay?” Rebecca could imagine Angela winking as she said that.

After ending the call with Angela, Rebecca returned to the walk–in closet and picked o a satin kimono with matching lingerie. She stared at the kimono for a while, realizing that Angela assumed she and Sean would have an intimate relationship, even though nothing would actually happen between them.

She put the sexy satin kimono back and replaced it with sweatpants and a white crop top. After washing her face, she lay down on the bed. She couldn’t believe that after he thrilling adventure, she was finally back in New York and even had time for a nap.

Before closing her eyes, she checked her phone once more and found a message from Jacob in her direct messages.

So you’re back in New York? That’s it? You didn’t even tell me? I hope you’re okay.”

Rebecca took a deep breath. She typed a few words and ended up deleting them again. Finally, she just replied, ‘I’m sorry, Jacob, and yeah, I’m fine now.”

As she tried to sleep, she suddenly thought of Cathy. She frowned, wondering why Cathy seemed to hate her so much. She knew it was all because of Victoria, but she was curious about what Victoria had said to Cathy to change her gaze so drastically.

After closing her eyes tightly and counting down from a hundred, she finally fell asleep at twenty–eight. However, her subconscious betrayed her by bringing Harvey into her dream. Harvey, with all his charm, handsome face, and rare charisma.

In her dream, Central Park looked more beautiful because it was just the three of them -her, Harvey, and Lily. Walking side by side, occasionally joking amidst Lily’s loud cries. As they stood by the lake, they gazed at each other. Their faces moved closer, and just as Harvey kissed her lips, she saw out of the corner of her eye Lily’s stroller rolling

into the lake**

“NO! LILY!” she screamed, waking up from her nap with labored breaths. She jumped up and checked Lily’s crib. “Oh, thank God!” she exclaimed when she saw Lily still there, sleeping as if she hadn’t heard her mother’s scream.

She wiped her face, returned to bed, and checked her phone. She didn’t know why, but after her comeback post, she felt like she was waiting for something. Then, when she opened her direct messages, a name appeared, making her heart pound hard.
