Chapter 23
Ava could sleep better now that her fever had gone down. Her kitty-like stance made one want to hold her …
He always did what he wanted, and after he grabbed her, he found a comfortable position for both of them.
The sun and heat were too much for Ava’s eyes.
Intense beams of light streamed out of her eyes, putting her in a trance. Faced with the bright light, she noticed a face.
Ava’s blurry eyes lit up with astonishment when the sight became apparent.
Why him!
Her mouth was wide open, the vision of her drunken night at a pub, the strange guy in a car, and finally the hotel…
Images flooded in her head. Ava Lins was shocked by the man’s fuzzy face was Jeorge Milton .
She could only cover her lips and stifle her feelings.
Ava gazed at his shirt, his face ablaze. Luckily, his underpants was still there when she peered further.
She wanted to remember something, but couldn’t.
Why are you so eager to find to Jeorge Milton?
Noticing he was still asleep, she dressed herself and quietly left the room.
When the door shut, Jeorge Milton opened his eyes, with a smirk on his face.
Ava Lins walked with her head down, not daring to look at his weird gazes.
She yearned to flee.
She dreaded meeting someone she knew, lest they discover her deed.
She got intoxicated last night and imagined she was cheating on Goden Bran. Although today, something occurred between her and another guy, but she was not pleased.
“What occurred last night?” she thought.
All she could remember was kissing him in the car, elevator, and being so hungry… Wouldn’t Jeorge Milton believe she was a woman dissatisfied with her own desires?
Ava sucked in a breath as she saw the skyscrapers speed past. She was torn.
Then, when she opened the door, she saw Goden Bran’s car in the garage. She was puzzled when she went down the corridor and found her grandma speaking.
Ava was perplexed.
“Ava is back,” Grandma smiled when she saw her.
Ava mustered a grin and sat next her grandmother.
Goden Bran’s inquisitive stare had not left her since she entered the room, as if waiting for a chance to question her sternly.
Ava’s skin was pale. Maybe it was the first time she didn’t come home at night.
“Are you tired living there and accompaning Grandma,” Grandma smiled and grasped her hand.
“How can it be? I wish my granny lived with me,” Ava said.
“I was overjoyed,.”
The elderly woman grinned.
Seeing Ava’s poor look, “You already told me last night that you wanted to visit your sister again at the hospital, how could anything like that happen?
Hearing this, Ava gazed surprised at Goden Bran, her eyes burning .
Goden Bran coughed quietly, put his palm over his mouth, and whispered, “Boil some medication for Grandma. You should rest upstairs.
The elderly woman knew she had to make room for the pair. She stood and grinned. “OK, I’ll go upstairs and relax.”
After Grandma went, the air grew stuffy.
Goden Bran’s intense stare rested on her.
She didn’t feel bad in front of him since she knew they had already signed a divorce agreement…
It became easier as she thought about it.
Why should she feel sorry for him when he was the first to go?
She got up, walked upstairs to pack, and the door shut behind her. She walked to her wardrobe and got dressed.
“Did you go out?”
He questioned her. Her grandma was here, and she didn’t go home at night.
“Do I need to tell you, Mr. Bran?”
“Who are you with, Ava Lins? ”
His voice was awful, like though Ava had never heard him like this.
She got weaker as she faced his rage. “Please step aside, I still have to pack my stuff,” Ava said, biting her lip as he questioned her.
“Packing up? Why are you so eager to move to Jeorge Milton’s place?” he scoffed.Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
Goden Bran’s heart sank as he remembered how she spent the night with Jeorge Milton.
He grabbed her wrist and yanked her close to him, forcing her garments to tumble on the ground. “What are you doing, get off of me!” she screamed violently as he clenched her wrist.
“Ava Lins, before we formally divorce, you are my legal wife!”
“So tell me who you were with last night and what you did with him!”
Ava saw his wrath and distrust. His eyes were hot and his hands prickled.
“You already know what Jeorge Milton and I did, so why do you ask?”
She just wanted to pack her bags and escape.
He snatched her bag and flung it on the ground, picking up the items on the ground and placing them into it.
He was so enraged . He couldn’t stand her ignoring him now!
She fought to withdraw her hand, but he held on tight. Goden Bran let go of her hand as they drew apart.
Suddenly, his rage gave way to remorse. He lacked confidence after seeing her silently drop her head, but he refused to believe it was his fault. “You shouldn’t have provoked me like this,” he said.
Hearing this made her grin and cry.
“I shouldn’t have provoked you, I shouldn’t have!” she sneered.
She fought hard to hold back her tears but failed.
Suddenly, all the annoyances and pains pour out.
“Okay, I’ll go now; you should be pleased; it’s time to bring your darling girlfriend to live here, isn’t it?”
“The divorce agreement was sent to you yesterday afternoon, remember? Did you ever feel sad for me while I was with Jeorge Milton last night? Why are you so daring to ask me?”
Maybe she was too furious, yet her voice trembled.
She sobbed…
