Elena stepped back fast. Her eyes filled with panic. Jess’s eyes widened in fear, blocking her niece from his view, but the taller man could still see Elena’s panicked face.

Demon frowned.

Perhaps he should have been more gentle in his introduction. Still, it was always good to keep the truth in the open. Elena was an assignment to him. His mark. Given to him by Hades to eliminate her and bring him her soul.

He couldn’t keep the truth from her, he likes her, really likes her a lot.

“You are an assassin?” Elena asked once she found her voice once again.

“Yes, your assassin.” Demon confirmed. “Don’t you still get it?”

“Wait a minute, are the Princess assassin? The one who had been killing all Princesses?” Jess asked suspiciously.

“Now you understand, so yes I am the Princesses assassin.” Demon confirmed her suspicions.

“What!?” Both Jess and Elena said together in loud gasps.

“If you are here to kill my niece then you will have to go through me to get to her. And I must warn you assassin, I fight with no mercy.” Jess told Demon, who snorted at that warning.

“Do I look like someone who wants to attack you? Even if I wanted to, you are not a match for me, I will defeat you with my eyes closed, that is if we engage in a fight,” Demon said to Jess and to show her what he means he flip backwards raising his legs to air and kicked out the lightning sword out of Jess hands and jumped in the air and grab hold of it. “You see what I mean.” He told Jess swinging the sword sideways like an expert and gave her back her sword.

“You can’t kill me that easily, I am highly trained and will take you down even though you are a highly trained assassin and a Demon.” Elena’s voice was heard as she stepped out from her aunt’s back to stand in his face.

“I don’t want to kill you Elena, and that’s the truth.” Demon told her with his eyes on hers, she was staring at him searching for something in his eyes.

His demons tidy up the compound and make it look the same. They magically cleaned all the bloods littering around the compound, no spot of blood was seen after they were done.

“It is done master.” One of the demons said, bringing Demon out of the staring contest he was having with Elena.

Demon looked around the compound and nodded his head as he saw it was like before.

“Take the dead Ninja’s and have them buried as usual.” He told the demons.

“Yes master,” They said in unison and entered the portal.

“Are you a king or what because they obey you and call you master?” Jess asked.

“Sort of.” Demon answered with a shrug.

“All these things you are discussing with him aunt won’t change the fact that he is here to kill me.”

“I don’t think so Elena, he wouldn’t have helped us and besides he said he doesn’t want to kill you,” Jess said. The man would have told his demons to attack them while he killed her niece, not help them and clean her compound off the dead Ninja’s. She wondered why he was helping them.

“He did that to draw our attention, aunt. I don’t believe what he is saying one bit,” Elena said, still staring at Demon.

“Funny enough your name is Demon and you are truly a Demon, any way come inside with me,” Jess said and entered her house, her sword fading from her hands.

“Your aunt seems to believe me but not you, why?”

“Because I see lies beneath those stupid eyes of yours. You are doing this to get closer to me and when we are not expecting your attack, you kill me like you had killed the others,” Elena said. “Those dead princesses didn’t offend anyone, and yet you killed those innocent souls. Killing is your hobby, you have joy when you kill those princesses. So what makes you think I will believe you?”

“And why is that? Why don’t you want to kill me?”

“Because I think, I am falling deeply in lo-love with you.” Demon answered truthfully. “The first day I saw you at school, I couldn’t stop my heart from beating fast at the beautiful sight of you. That was why I tried to be your friend so that I could be closer to you. I love you Princess Elena.” He poured out his heart to her.

“And you want me to believe that lies also? It is not working Demon or whatever your name is.”

Demon closed the distance between them entering Elena’s personal space, but that didn’t bother Elena as she was glaring heatedly at Demon.

“You think I made up my feelings for you? You asked me a question and I told you the honest truth and you are saying it’s a lie? Do you want me to prove it to you?”

“Listen here Demon, I don’t care about whatever stupid prove or point you are trying to make here, all I want is for you to leave here, me and this country and my kingdom alone and never return bac-”

He silences her with his lips. Elena gasps out in surprise when she feels his lips on her, kissing her like his life depends on it. Her sudden gasps gave him easy access to slide his tongue into her mouth and deepen the kiss.

Hades Abode:

“Do you think he hasn’t changed his mind yet?” The lady with Hades asked.

“No, Demon can’t change his heart, he still thinks you are dead and will want to bring you back to life. If he does have a change of heart, David is there to correct it.” Hades answered.

“I just hope, I want to have power and that is why we are using him to achieve our aim. We gave him the assignment to kill those Princesses in order to give him Elena to kill without any suspicion, that’s why I faked my death.”

“I shall grant you more powers like we’ve agreed once he brings Elena’s soul Lilly. You just keep on with your act.” Hades answered Lilly.

“I can’t wait to have my husband back into my arms, Hades. He should just find where Elena is and kill her so that he would return to where he belongs,” The lady now known as Lilly, and Demon’s wife, said.

Jess House:

She tried to push him off before she succumbed to his kisses, but he wasn’t moving.

The kiss stopped as it began and Demon quickly leaned and stole a kiss before he gave a tiny space between them.

“I love you Elena and I don’t care if you love me back or you hate me. I know it will never change the fact that I am an assassin, a very dangerous one at that. But you should know after kissing you, I don’t think I can ever leave you or stay away from you like you said.” Demon told her and walked past Elena and entered the house.

Jess was seated already but he knew she heard their conversation. He sat down on a sofa.

Elena walked in after a few minutes highly pissed, her lips swollen from the kiss.

She sat down opposite him totally ignoring him.

“Aunt why did you invite him in?”

“Because I don’t want our conversation to be heard outside, the walls have ears Elena, you might not know who is Watching.”

“Your aunt is right Elena,” Demon said.

“Elena please go to your room. I need to have one and one talk with Demon here.”

Huffing out in annoyance, she got up and left for her room.

Demon watches her until she is safely behind the door of her room. He just couldn’t take his eyes off her curves. He wanted to see her naked beneath him. He want to kiss all over her and have wicked sex with her until she scream out his name for the world to know she belongs to only Him. The warning Hades gave him not to sleep with any of the Princesses has gone out from his head.

Jess’s cough brought his attention back to her and he sent her a smile.

“I know you like my niece but, you can’t have her. You are a killer who kills for a living so kill whatever growing feelings you have for my niece because she won’t like you. So tell me the truth, who are you?” Jess asked.

“My real name is Chase Demon, and I don’t kill for a living. I am a businessman, not a killer. My companies are all around the world.”

“Then what made you a killer? You said with your mouth that you are an assassin and the way you fought those Ninja’s shows you know your way around with swords,” Jess said, waiting for his answers.

“Yes that I am. I was sent here to kill Princesses and collect their souls to bring back someone I cared about to life.” Demon answered sincerely. He doesn’t like lying.

“You want to bring someone back to life now makes you kill only Princesses?” Jess asked, not getting it.

“Yes, the one who sent me made me kill only Princesses. And Elena was my next target. I came down to France to find her because the Ninjas who I had faced spit out where she and her sister might be out before I killed her.” Demon explained.

“So, now you’ve found Elena, what are you going to do? Will you kill her or disobey your master?” Jess asked, wanting to know where he stands.

“No one is my master and no I won’t kill her. I have to find out why I suddenly love her.” Demon replied.

He has a wife who has helped him in the past that is why he wanted to bring her back to life. But now, he regretted ever killing those Princesses. If he had met Elena earlier, then maybe he wouldn’t have killed any of the Princesses.

But why would he be having these sudden feelings for her?

Unless…. she is his Shadow Chaser Mate.
