Chapter 9: Rejected Marriage Proposal
Chapter 9: Rejected Marriage Proposal
In the twilit darkness of the room, Fleur's beauty shone like an enticing floral bloom. But Olivier
remained unreadable.
His languid posture portrayed a dull unaffectedness in the dark, immune to any probing eye.
He spoke up after a while.
"Well then. I suppose if you've prepped yourself all this way, even going so far with your pillow, you
would be prepared to be humiliated as well."
Fleur said nothing.
"As you wish then," Olivier grunted. "Get out."

Back in her room, Fleur did not find herself feeling humiliated at all. Everything was coming along just
as she predicted, including how quickly Olivier had sent two million dollars her way immediately after
sending him that picture.
"Meow," Lulu called, appearing from some hidden corner. It nestled in Fleur's lap.
Fleur turned off the lights and laid down, stroking its fur.
Ten minutes later, an engine revved outside the Night Villa.
Olivier Martinez exited the building.
A man could only have one reason to be going out at this late.
Two minutes later, Odette called.
"What?"
"Come over, you'll want to see this for yourself."
......
The Stunning Club's parking lot resembled a luxury car festival, though it had only been founded half a
year ago.
When Fleur arrived, she recognised the Toyota Land Cruiser that belonged to Olivier.
She did not see him anywhere in the club, instead, she saw Odette at the bar in a spaghetti strap
dress, hair around her waist with a cigarette in one hand and a glass of wine in another. She was
looking sexy as ever.
Men stayed in her vicinity, wanting to approach but scared to at the same time.
Being Y City's most beautiful woman, not many men could brave the task of striking up a conversation
with her.
Fleur strode over to her, covering the rim of her glass with a hand.
"Didn't you quit smoking?" Fleur nodded towards Odette's cigarette.
Odette grasped her cigarette, her lean hand pairing perfectly with the slivers of smoke. Her secretive
smile betrayed an unspeakable past.
"Would you like one?"
"No, and I won't tolerate secondhand smoke either. Put it out."
"..." Odette narrowed her eyes and stared at Fleur. "What makes you think you can order me around?
I'm Odette Durand, even Olivier Martinez listens to me."
"So? Will you do as I say or not?"
Odette grumbled, "Fine, but only because I like you." She put out her cigarette and got up, hooking her
arm with Fleur's. "Let's go."
As soon as the two left, everyone began gossiping about Odette and the woman she left with. Odette
was known by all to be Y City's number one beauty, but Fleur...was even more beautiful than her.
......
The hallway down to the bathroom was filled with countless couples in varying stages of passion.
Most if not all of them recognised Olivier. It was hard not to.
Olivier had a drunk, crying woman by his side. She was unsteady on her feet, having to cling to him
while sobbing her eyes out.
He held her close without a word.
Fleur was serenely staring at them, gaze never leaving the pair.
"Virginie Lopez, Olivier's lover," Odette introduced, "Olivier himself never drinks. Someone threatened
him to with a gun once, but he still didn't drink."
"Looks like you're much more useful than a gun then." Olivier had managed to break that rule of his two
nights ago.
"It wasn't me," Odette said, "He drank himself that night, after his marriage proposal to that very woman
in his arms was rejected."
