Carl drove back to his apartment to check out some files after getting a call from the architect that was helping him out on a new construction project. He searched the office desk, packed, arranged and then scattered several papers just to find a sketch and chart of the new project. The architect in charge had requested for a picture of the file because an ally to moon stone pack wanted the same plan. He had left it right on the desk before leaving the rehearsal but now he couldn’t find it.

Soon Carl stopped searching and he walked back to the sitting room. And as his eyes surveyed the room, his mind drifted back to the day Meagan had stepped into his home. The eating together, the dance and first kiss replayed in his head. Everything they have done after that moment was stuck in his brain.

Carl could figure out what was going on with Meagan. Well it was clear that she was angry. He noticed that she had withdrew from him with the hope of pushing him away. Something had changed since Meagan found out the truth about him being the alpha of this pack. And he knew there are more reasons which he already blamed himself.

“Maybe… I should have been more honest with her.” He mused.

At the rehearsal Meagan had avoided meeting his eyes. And whenever their gaze met, she would look away quickly to focus on something else. She didn’t even return his smile like she did with the other people in the hall.

Carl frowned when he remembered how free she had been with some other groomsmen who had approached her and that made his wolf extremely jealous. This feelings seemed strange to the alpha. His wolf has been sending him mixed signals since he had set his eyes on Meagan.

Avoiding him? Does it mean that would be the end of their good time? It doesn’t make sense right? Ending things without a proper goodbye to each other. Carl thought as he contemplated visiting the guesthouse and being seen by anyone. He has to be careful so as not to be the topic of gossip. And it won’t be good for Meagan who doesn’t belong to this pack.

The alpha has gone out of his way this past few days to have a good time with a woman he doesn’t really know much about. He was trying as much as possible to be calm, polite and considerate. But his wolf wasn’t helping matters. It wanted another chance to maybe flirt with Meagan again? His wolf didn’t want to accept the fact that the fun would end soon? And that this was just a secret adventure that they don’t want anyone to know? Carl was trying to figure out the feelings and thoughts of his wolf as he sat down on the couch.

His wolf reminded him of how Meagan had also enjoyed flirting with him, how she had been clear about having a secret adventure with him, the terms she had stated and how she had moaned and screamed out his name at every thrust he made into her core. And the memories of having sex with Meagan turned him on completely. He could sense his own arousal in the air as the picture of Meagan against the walls of the bathroom, her legs wrapped around his waist, her nails digging into the skin on his back and him thrusting into her harder until the both came. These thoughts were making him crazy as he tried to end it.

“What if they are together right now? Remember Jones has a huge crush on her since forever.” His wolf bantered internally.

Then with a frown in his face, he stood up abruptly remembering how Jones had tried to attach himself to Meagan.

He has to see Meagan so she won’t ignore him throughout the wedding ceremony. Deep down in Carl, he knew Meagan wasn’t interested in Jones. He had silently watched how she didn’t give herself to his conversations completely. Meagan had treated Jones as if he wasn’t close to her. And how she acted towards Jones had somehow made him and his wolf happy.

Carl had liked how her eyes had sparkled while she laughed when she was talking to the couple and he wished that he could also make her laugh that much too. He concluded that he would see her at the guesthouse.

He is the alpha of moon stone pack so he could go into anywhere without getting caught by anyone.

************

It has been a long and exhausting hours filled with barks and screams of the event planner as they all worked hard to rehearse their movement and cues. The day has not ended yet, there is still a busy schedule for the wedding which would take place in few hours time.

There was still enough time to have a good sleep before she gets swamped with fulfilling her function as a bridesmaid and supporting her best friend. Meagan stripped out of her clothes and went into the bathroom. Then she saw the night gown she had wore last night which Carl had used to wipe her body after he released on her. It was in the sink and she tried not to think about the sexual moment with the warlord… no alpha but it didn’t work. She opened the tap attached to the sink and let the water flow on the clothe until it soaked it completely. She poured soap on it under the running water and she washed it.

Meagan didn’t want to dispose the night wear because it was an expensive one. Her eyes flicked over the wall closer to the shower and she remembered having sex right there. It was a wild one as the first and she would never forget it. She let her mind drift to Carl completely.

When their eyes met, Carl lips had quirked up into a smile but she didn’t acknowledge him. Every time she stole a glance at him, it reminded her of what they had done. Her eyes was so drawn to his mouth and nice lips that she couldn’t stop glancing at him every now and then. Anytime she caught a glimpse of his lips, she would recall the memories of how he had pressed his mouth on hers. And his strong arms had held her in a way that she felt safe. He had adored, pleasured and pay attention to her body as if they have something serious together other than a fling.

“Enough… enough of this Meagan. The alpha can’t have a relationship.. because he hasn’t gotten over his ex girlfriend rejection completely.” She tried to caution herself.

After Meagan was done washing, she stepped under the shower, letting the cold water flow over her body as the drops of it calm down her tensed muscles. She stayed under it for about three minutes before turning off the shower when her mind almost slipped to Carl again. She grabbed a big towel and wrapped it over her body and then a small one on her head to dry out the water in her hair.

Meagan heard a soft crackling sound in the room that made her head snap up to look at her reflection in the mirror. She thought she heard wrongly when everything was silent again.
