CHAPTER 476 RUN WHEN YOU’RE IN DANGER
“If grandpa wants you as his god-granddaughter, then I am your brother. I should protect you.” Alexander said as if it was a matter of fact.
Madeline frowned, “Have you guys always been so… kind?”
Alexander said without a smile, “We are only kind to our people.”
“I heard that Annalise has disappeared, you guys are not worried at all?” Madeline asked another question.
Annalise Solace had been missing for two days. It’s not only that she didn’t make it to the headlines, even Alexander, a member of the Solace family, didn’t seem to care much. Wasn’t Annalise the precious daughter of the Solace family?
“Rowan and Oscar both went to look for her. They sent me a message saying that they found her. She didn’t want to come back yet, so they are staying with her for a few days.”
Alexander told the truth. That day, Rowan received a call saying something had happened to Annalise. The Solace brothers were supposed to go together to find her. However, Alexander received a call from Dylan on the way regarding a major discovery in the virus research.
Rowan asked him to go back to the laboratory first. Anyway, they brought bodyguards with them. There wasn’t much difference with his presence.
On that night, Alexander received a message from Rowan. He said that they had found Annalise. She
was not involved in any incident. She was just making a fuss refusing to go home and insisted they stay with her for a few days.
As for the location, Alexander did not ask much about it. He had full trust in his brother. Everything could be solved by Rowan.
Alexander looked at Madeline’s expression, his heart skipped a beat. He immediately took out his phone to call Rowan, but the phone was turned off.
He called Oscar too, his phone was turned off too.
Madeline saw Alexander’s pale face and reminded him, “Go back to the Solace immediately. Organize some people to check the whereabouts of your brothers. Don’t let Old Mr. Solace know about this. He can’t stand it.”
He nodded, then hesitantly turned around to look at her again.
“Don't worry, I'll be fine here. I'll help to track them.”
Alexander nodded and left the Maple Forest Villa distraught. Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.
Madeline purposely mentioned Annalise’s name just now because she heard her name coming out from Mia when she was sleeping just now.
The two people who had not crossed paths were suddenly tied together, she did not think that was an accident. She had a hunch that the whole thing had something to do with her.
“Mommy, the girl is awake.” Mackenzie came out with a glass of water.
To lower Mia’s defensiveness, Madeline sent her three children to accompany her. She was hoping that Mia would return to normal as soon as possible and give them more useful information.
For now, as long as they figured out where she was being held, they would have the chance to save Annalise, Rowan, and Oscar.
When Madeline entered Mia’s room, she lifted the covers off the bed and ran over to grab Madeline’s hand. Her eyes were red as she said, “Ms. Grant, please tell someone to save Annalise. Go save her, she's dying! If it wasn't for her, I couldn't have escaped!”
“Speak slowly girl, do you still remember where it was?” Madeline asked.
Mia nodded, “It's underground, like the graveyard in the TV.”
An ancient tomb?
“You said it was Annalise who helped you escape?”
“Yes. She bit off a man's ear. That man was the leader. He furiously dragged her away. She threw me a key, and I was able to unlock the handcuffs and fetters.” Mia was trembling as she talked about the situation.
Madeline encouraged, “What do you still remember? Tell me all of them.”
“I can't remember much. They did not allow me to sleep, and they banged the gong in my ears. They also injected me with some kind of drugs, I can't remember everything.”
“How did you get caught by them?” Madeline frowned and continued to ask.
She no longer had the time for Mia to recover her senses.
“That day, Mr. Lucas asked me to buy coffee. I was walking on the street and suddenly I was dragged into the car…”
“Which store is it?”
“Starbucks downstairs.”
“What kind of people did you meet after you were caught? Is there anyone you know?” Madeline saw Mia had fallen into her memories and quickly asked her more questions.
Mia scratched her messy hair a few times, painfully recalling the situation. Some bad memories came up, and she broke down again.
Madeline saw that nothing more could be asked. She gave her a sedative so that she wouldn't hurt herself.
Then she called Jacob and asked him to retrieve all the surveillance footage on the road leading from the Quinton Corporation to Starbucks. Unfortunately, the number plate of the car that kidnapped Mia was a fake. It was impossible to find out the owner.
However, Jacob found a mirror reflecting the driver's face. He used some high-end technology to make the blurry photo clear.
After hanging up on Jacob, Madeline called Noah. She told him in detail what Mia had said and the clue to find the location.
“They were pretending to be me. They wanted the relationship between the Solace family and Quincy family to break so they could reap the benefits.” After Noah left Golden Dome International, he brought his men to search for the mountain where Mia was at.
He did it for Lucas since Mia was Lucas’s girlfriend. Next, he felt that this matter might be related to the “accident” that always happened next to Madeline.
“Then can you guess who they were?” Madeline asked.
“Not at the moment. Don’t worry. I will find out soon.” Noah sounded quite relaxed which made Madeline feel secured.
“You reached the mountain?” Madeline asked as she heard Noah instructing his men to find the place.
“Yes. The terrain here is complicated and hard to walk. I don't know how she escaped.” Noah said while he almost fell down the hill as he stepped wrongly. A delicate girl like Mia could successfully escape while she was being chased, Noah didn’t know if luck was on her side or what.
“Focus on finding the tomb. Mia said they are living underground,” Madeline recalled.
“You're not worried about me at all? You only keep asking me to find it.” Noah teased.
Madeline said in a serious tone, “If you feel something is weird, run immediately. Don’t try to be heroic, okay?”
“Mr. Quincy, we found a piece of rag from clothes.” A bodyguard came forward to report.
Noah hung up the phone. He smiled looking at the place where the rag appeared. He then ordered his men to search in that direction.
