Chapter 72
Chapter 72 I Like It Very Much
Rachel watched the unfolding scene, her grim expression lifting considerably, replaced with a knowing look. "Ethan hates it the most when people interrupt him while he's talking and can't even stand sweets. And that woman is actually bringing dessert over at a time like this? Well, this should be interesting."
Heather nodded in agreement. "Even if Mr. Ethan Wilson had a soft spot for that woman, there's no way he'd tolerate her constantly pushing his boundaries. I bet she's going to get scolded by him."
"I agree, too. That woman is definitely going to get an earful from Mr. Ethan Wilson." Her other close friend chimed in, looking at Rachel with amusement. "Once Mr. Ethan Wilson is fed up with that woman, he'll realize you're the best match for him, Rachel."
Rachel responded with a smirk, her expression giving nothing away.
She pondered, "If that woman wants to make a fool of herself, let her. Only then will Ethan realize I'm best suited for him."
While they were talking, Leah had already approached Ethan.
Holding up a red velvet cake like a prized possession to him, she said enthusiastically, "Ethan, this cake tastes amazing! It's sweet but not overly so. I immediately thought of sharing it with you. Here, have a taste."
Ethan looked at Leah, her eyes sparkling with anticipation, like a child waiting for praise. He couldn't help but smile upon seeing this.
He then raised his hand and gestured for the person before him to be silent. Afterward, he took the fork from Leah, saying, "Since you brought this especially for me, I definitely should give it a try."
As Ethan took a bite, Leah gazed at him expectantly. "What do you think?"
Ethan praised, "It tastes delicious. I like it very much."
Hearing him, Leah lifted her chin proudly and replied, "I knew it. I always make the best choices."
Ethan affectionately ruffled her hair and said, "Alright then, why don't you go find something else that's tasty? If you find something, come share it with me again."
"Okay!" Leah exclaimed eagerly and rushed to the buffet area to gather more delicious treats. Her mood was evidently cheerful and lively.
Watching Leah's retreating figure, Ethan's smile grew even warmer.
He pondered, "My little sister is so adorable."
Rachel, who stood not far from them, was frozen when she saw Ethan's genuine smile, her expression filled with shock.
She mused bitterly, "I clearly
remember how much Ethan hates being interrupted while talking to others and can't stand sweets. Why has his reaction changed when it was that woman does it? This isn't fair to me! It's incredibly unfair!"
Back then, Rachel had done things similar to what Leah was doing now.

At that time, Ethan was in a business meeting, and Rachel had interrupted him.
Ethan then scolded her with an unusually harsh and severe tone.
She still vividly remembered how his expression had been filled with disdain and disgust when he looked back at her.
Because of that incident, Rachel never attempted to cross Ethan's boundaries again.
Yet now, Ethan was continuously lowering his boundaries for another woman.
Not only did he show no signs of irritation, but he also appeared utterly charmed and pleased.
This stark contrast was driving Rachel nearly insane.
Her gaze then locked onto Leah with a burning intensity, as if she wished to bore a hole right through her.
Meanwhile, Heather occasionally observed Leah's movements.
Noticing Leah heading to the
restroom from the buffet area, Heather tapped Rachel's arm, saying, "Rachel, it looks like she's heading to the restroom. Should we follow her?"
