Chapter 82 :Why Are You Standing Still?
Kelly Scott watched as Rex left before walking in. Wendy thought that Rex had returned, so she said coldly, “You may leave.”
“Hey, did you have a fight with Rex?” Kelly approached with a smile.
Wendy immediately sat up and said, “Mom, it’s you.”
“What’s wrong?” Kelly touched Wendy’s face and asked with concern.
Wendy looked a little depressed. “Nothing. He asked me to attend a parenting class tomorrow.”
“Well, what a lovely couple you two are! We didn’t have this condition at that time.”
Wendy bit her lip. “But he’s busy with work and can’t go with me.”
After all, Wendy was Kelly’s daughter. Kelly knew exactly what she was thinking. She smiled and said, “So you’re throwing a tantrum?”
“This is not a tantrum. Is this baby just mine only? The book says that children can already perceive the outside world from the moment they are babies. I don’t want my child to be like me, having no father to accompany me since childhood.”
Kelly paused and said guiltily, “Wendy, I’m sorry……”
“Nothing. It’s all the past. Now I have my own family, you and Rex. As for Dad……” Wendy bit her words back.
“Alright, let’s not talk about this anymore. If Rex isn’t free tomorrow, I’ll go with you.”
“Really?” Wendy’s eyes lit up. “You’re not lying to me?”
“When have I ever lied to you?”
“Mom, you’re still the best to me.” Wendy threw herself into Kelly’s arms and hugged her tightly.
“Silly girl, you are my daughter. How could I not treat you well?”
When Wendy and Kelly left the hospital, it happened to be the peak hour of commute, and cars flowed along the road.
The green light across the road didn’t light up for a long time, and Wendy was a little impatient. “Why is this red light taking so long?”
“Let’s wait a little longer.”
As soon as they finished speaking, a dazzling sports car stopped in front of them, and the window slowly rolled down.
It was Halsey.
“Auntie Kelly, Wendy?” Halsey asked. “Where are you going? I’ll give you a ride.”
Wendy glanced at Kelly and agreed after much thought.
After they got in the car, Halsey asked, “Wendy, where are you going?”
Kelly did not say anything. Instead, she signaled Wendy to reply.
“We are going to the Broadcast and TV Building.”
“What are you going there for?” Halsey started the engine and asked.
Kelly then said slowly, “I’m going to meet an old classmate over there. Wendy felt uneasy, so she went with me.”
Wendy winked at Kelly. As expected, the daughter understood her mother well.
Halsey glanced at the rearview mirror casually and saw Wendy’s hand swathed in bandages. He immediately asked nervously, “Wendy, why is your hand injured?”
Hearing this, Wendy subconsciously hid her hand. “It’s okay. I accidentally cut it while cutting the vegetables.”
How could she cut her palm when cutting vegetables?
Although Halsey was suspicious, he couldn’t ask further because Kelly was there. It wasn’t until they got off the car that he sent a text message to Wendy.
However, his text message received no response.
Wendy held Kelly’s hand and was about to say something when she heard the one beside her say, “Wendy, you should know that you’re married to Rex now. No matter how much his mother dislikes you, you’re still a member of the Gavyn Family. I know the news before. You and Halsey……”
“Mom!” Wendy was a little surprised and let go of Kelly. “Even you don’t believe me?”
“It’s not that I don’t believe you. I just want to remind you.” Kelly sighed helplessly.
“I know. I know it very well. Don’t worry.”All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.
Kelly knew her daughter’s temper, so she didn’t say anything else. It was just that she was slightly worried, and she got a bad feeling.
Wendy and Kelly walked towards the classroom together. There were several pregnant women talking on both sides of the road. Wendy found it hard to imagine that she would have a big baby bump soon, just like them.
“Why are you standing still? Come in!” Rex appeared out of nowhere and scared Wendy.
Kelly acted as if she already knew about it. She smiled and handed Wendy to Rex. “Then, Rex, you take care of her. I am leaving now that you’re here.”
“Mom?” Wendy was confused.
“I’m leaving.” Kelly rubbed Wendy’s head.
Rex grabbed Wendy’s hand and pulled her into the classroom. The teacher looked at them and said with a smile, “Let’s welcome the new classmates.”
The few parents-to-be sitting on the ground applauded one after another, making Wendy feel embarrassed. She smiled and said, “Thank…… thank you, everyone.”
“Silly.” Rex also wanted to laugh, but he taunted.
Wendy stared at him. “I’m silly, you’re not much better off than me.”
He learned this woman’s eloquence.
After Daisy Steed came back from her good friend’s wedding, she felt a little lost. When she went to the hospital to see her father, she was questioned about what had happened.
In fact, what else was on her mind at this age?
Just two things-love and dreams.
What she was thinking about was the young man. Daisy opened her diary, there were two words on it.
Clare Smith.
“How are you?”
In fact, she already knew that Clare worked for Rex, but she had never used her relationship with Wendy to find him because it was all the past.
It was too late for her to say goodbye to Clare.
The reason why he had not appeared at the wedding was probably that he had been busy at the company. In the past, she had loved to watch those programs that Rex was on and some people had even misunderstood that she was a fan of Rex.
In fact, she only liked Clare, who was beside Rex and always stayed there quietly.
It was as if he had been at the bottom of her heart all these years, so quiet that Daisy thought that she had forgotten his existence. However, every time she saw his name, she would feel her heart had been broken.
She had also quietly watched that young man from afar and had secretly cut out pictures of him. She had hidden them so that no one would be able to see. She had not even told Wendy about this secret.
Someone was like this, so precious that she didn’t dare to show off.
Over the years, Clare had been single and Wendy had mentioned this to Rex more than once. It was just that his heart belonged to someone and everyone else had become nothing. No matter how beautiful the scenery was, it could not compare to a single look from her.
However, Daisy did not know any of this. She only knew that Clare was a stubborn person. Once he left, he would never come back.
So, she didn’t even have the courage to call his name.
