Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow

23、Jealous?

**Lisa’s POV**

Archie frequented the building lobby where most of the seafarers stayed whenever they made a follow up for their scheduled departure. I saw him waiting in the lobby while we went out for lunch.

“Going out ladies? Can I come?” He asked.

“Yes. I would first ask for my friend’s permission if they wanted you to tag along.” I answered.

“Who is he?” My officemate Lily asked.

“Oh, by the way, this is Archie, a friend. And Archie, this is Lily, my office mate.” They shake hands as I introduce them.

“Nice meeting you Lily.” Archie said.

“Likewise.” Lily answered.

“Shall we go.” I told them.

We proceed to the cafeteria near our office. Lily and Archie were engrossed with their conversation as if they were the only persons present at the table. I was left listening to them unmindful of my presence. I just continue eating my lunch and I don’t mind them either. As much as I wanted to leave them alone, that would be rude of me. I have never spoken a word after our lunch out. Even when they asked or talked to me, I never answered them. How rude of me, isn’t it? I just feel outcast from them. I just feel some anger developing inside of me. Why would I be angry anyway? Archie is not even a friend. I don’t care if they get along well.

After we arrived at the office, I left them and I just went ahead, not minding them at all. I heard Archie calling me but I didn’t look back. I went straight to my office but Lily went to my office and asked me something.

“How rude are you? Archie is calling you back there and you didn’t look back at him. How long have you known Archie?” Asked Lily.

“I haven’t heard him calling me and I know you two were busy talking. I haven’t known him that long. Why do you ask?” answered and asked her at the same time.

“Does he have a girlfriend?” She asked again.

“I don’t know. You should have asked him that a while ago. Why asked me since I haven’t known him that long? Are you interested in him? Why not ask him directly?” I was irritated when answering her. She just smirked and left my office.

After office hours, I walked out of the lobby and I saw Archie outside. I was in a hurry to get out of the lobby when someone called out from behind me and I saw Arnold, my officemate in accounting.

“Going home? Can I walk you out to the bus station?” He asked me.

“Yes of course. At least I have someone to talk to while walking to the bus station.” I told him. We chatted and laughed while walking to the bus station. Not minding that Archie is following us. Arnold never left me until I got into the bus. Thankfully Archie never followed me anymore. Is he really following me? I don’t care at all and I don’t want to talk to him anyway.

Next day, I was early at the office because there would be a meeting for our financial statement status. The meeting went well and we have some projects to get busy with. I have never thought of Archie anymore because I get busy with my workload. I have never gone out for lunch as I usually do, but I let my officemate and best friend Helen to buy me some food at the cafeteria. So, I ate my lunch at the office to get my work done at my scheduled work frame.Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.

Lily went to my office to ask something. “Have you seen Archie?”

“How would I know I haven’t gone out since this morning? Haven’t you seen him outside the lobby?” I asked her.

“No. I haven’t seen him.” She answered.

“Are you interested in him? You should ask him that personally because I cannot answer you that. I don’t know him that well.” I was annoyed by my answer. She just left my room.

I don’t care if he was there or not. I don’t care anymore. As I can see, Lily is interested in Archie and I have no control over it. He is not even a friend to me. Again, he is just an acquaintance and there is no reason for me to get annoyed. Though, I hate when Lily asks me some questions about Archie which I don’t know how to answer.
