Whispers Turn

CHAPTER 452

Chapter 452

Was Jenna yearning for a father’s love?

The next day, at the dance studio.

Sherilyn had just been informed by Rebecca, “Sherilyn, my designs were selected!”

“Really?” Sherilyn was both shocked and delighted, “You really kept that under wraps! Why didn’t you say anything sooner?”

“Giggle.” Rebecca blushed slightly, “Well, you know, just in case something went wrong.”

“That’s amazing.” Sherilyn teased her with a playful glare. “Looks like Caroline really took a liking to your designs. Congratulations.” NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.

Even though she wasn’t Caroline’s biggest fan, she had to admit, getting Caroline to endorse your designs wasn’t cheap.

Having Caroline wear her wedding dress design, especially when marrying into the Sunhaven empire, the Johnson family, meant Rebecca was on the brink of stardom.

Rebecca’s grin was ear to ear. “Haha, just lucky, just lucky.”

“Keep it up, do your best!”

“Absolutely!”

At noon, Rebecca needed to buy some small materials, and since the dance studio was pretty quiet, Sherilyn decided to tag along.

While waiting, Sherilyn bought some yarn.

She planned to knit two sweaters, one small and one large. The small one was naturally for Jenna, and the larger one…was intended for Gilbert.

It was her way of thanking him for his ‘kindness‘ towards Jenna.

She divided the yarn into two portions, placing them into two separate bags. The one for Jenna was left at Sunset Ridge Community, and the one for Gilbert, she planned to take to Golden Oak Manor.

Two days later, Gilbert returned from Ironforge.

He didn’t go back to Golden Oak Manor but came directly to the dance studio from the airport without telling Sherilyn in advance.

“Sherilyn!”

Sherilyn and Rebecca were just stepping out of the main entrance when they were surprised to see Gilbert standing there, donned in a camel coat, tall and smiling broadly

*Go on

Rebecca gave her a nudge and waved goodbye with a cheerful smile, “TIl head off first”

Sherilyn jogged towards him, “You’re back? Why didn’t you tell me?

Gilbert reached out to take her hand. “I wanted to surprise you. So, do you like it?”

Sherilyn gave a faint smile.

“Let’s go. Gilbert wrapped her in his arms, “We’re dining out tonight.”

They ended up at Blue Plate Diner,

Gilbert ordered, “Just these for now.”

After closing the menu, he remembered something and instructed, “Oh, and no ginger or cilantro, Onion and garlic are fine, though.”

Sherilyn, who was sipping her water, looked up at him upon hearing this.

Gilbert grinned and teased her, “Why are you looking at me like that? The one who doesn’t eat ginger or cilantro is you, right?”

He wasn’t picky, everything was fine by him.

Sherilyn was astonished, opening her mouth. “How did you know?”

“Is that hard to notice?”

Gilbert raised an eyebrow, “I’ve shared so many meals with you, at the same table, from the same bowl. If I couldn’t even notice that, I must be blind.”

Yes, his words made sense.

But they had known each other for many, many years, and these… these were details he never seemed to notice before.

Sherilyn held her water glass, sipping slowly, her thoughts tumultuously swirling.

“Huh?” Gilbert noticed the small bag on the chair, “What’s this?”

“Don’t…”

Sherilyn tried to stop him, but it was too late. Gilbert had already opened it to take a look.

“What’s this?” He fiddled with the content. “Are you knitting a sweater?”

His eyes narrowed suspiciously. “For whom?”
