The Persistent CEO Wants A Baby

Chapter 25 What did he do wrong?

“Is everything going well in the office?”

“Yes grandfather. I am following all the instructions given to me by both you and Aiden.” Wayne sipped his juice and grandfather nodded.

Grandfather had invited him over to the house so he could ask about the office as Wayne was placed in charge of all the activities in the office till Aiden was back.

“That is why I like you. You are so obedient unlike my grandson who thinks everything should be done according to his own will.” Grandfather praised and Wayne smiled.

“You wouldn’t blame him grandfather. It was the way he grew up.”

Grandfather sighed and bowed his head a little for a while.

“Do you think this would work?” Grandfather suddenly asked.

“What is that?” Wayne asked back totally clueless of what he meant.

“The honeymoon, do you think it would yield something at the end?” Grandfather enunciated.

One could tell he was worried from the sound of his voice.

“I don’t really know. You and I know Aiden can’t be studied at times.” Wayne replied after he thought for a while.

Grandfather sighed and took a sip of his coffee.

Aiden might think he was been too hard on him but the truth of the matter was that he was only trying to make him give a successor to the Turners’ family.

The Turners were very wealthy and popularly known all over the world. There was no way grandfather would allow its fame and wealth go down the drain.

Aiden wasn’t getting any younger and he himself was aware of that.

If grandfather doesn’t do it this way then Aiden wouldn’t do as he wants.

The only way out was to make him feel he was harsh on him. At least when the results comes out and they get a heir, grandfather wouldn’t be the only one to be happy about it.

There was minutes of silence before Wayne broke it.

“Grandfather, I’ll be on my way now.” Wayne stood up.

“Alright. Inform me if there’s any new development.”Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.

“I will.” Wayne smiled and took a last sip of his juice. He bowed before he left.

He entered his car and drove out of grandfather’s compound. Seconds later, he was on the road.

His phone vibrated in his pocket. He brought it out to check what it was.

It was a message from Aiden and it read ‘check your emails, a picture of one of the files in my office has been sent to you, search for it and send a screenshot of the fifth page in the file. Do that before within thirty minutes, I’m waiting.’

Wayne put the phone back in his pocket as he focused back on the road.

He honked at the gate and the security man opened it after confirming he was the one.

He parked in the lot and stepped down from the car. He proceeded into the company but paused when Blossom stopped him at the reception.

“Wayne, I want to enquire something from you, can you give me all the details I need?”

Wayne guessed it would be about Aiden as that was the only thing that would bring her here when Aiden wasn’t around.

“About what?” He still went and ask.

“It’s just about all about Aiden’s trip.” Blossom said with little irritation.

She was trying to avoid calling it a honeymoon as it might make her more angry than she already was.

“Well, if it is within my power, I will answer all.”

“But before that, let’s have a seat.” Wayne said again. They both sat down on the chairs.

“First of all, I would love to know which country he travelled to?” Wayne chuckled as his instincts were right.

“What looks funny here?” Blossom said harshly in a glare.

She was here for a vital information about Aiden’s trip and she wasn’t going to accommodate any form of joke from anyone.

“Nothing really, I just found the question a bit ridiculous so you wouldn’t blame me but I’m actually sorry if it made you upset.” Blossom just rolled her eyes and didn’t reply.

“Back to your question, didn’t he tell you the country he was going to? I thought you were both very good friends.” Wayne said even if it was very obvious Aiden didn’t inform her. There was mockery laced in his voice as he said this.

Blossom looked at him like he said something stupid which to her, he did.

“If I had known, would I ask you?” She said in a loud voice that people around were beginning to stare at them.

She was already loosing her temper and in any minute from now, she might loose it completely.

“Chill Blossom, we aren’t fighting here, are we?” Wayne feigned an apologetic face.

He was purposely doing this to make her angry so she would go away from here.

Aiden wouldn’t like it if he told her anything about this trip. In order not to tell her anything she needed to know, he would make her angry.

He wasn’t going to give direct answers to her and it would get her angry.

He heard she gets angry easily so it wouldn’t be that difficult to get her out with this way he figured out.

He was sure going to use her short temper against her.

“You should relax, I haven’t said anything wrong?”

“Would you tell me what I need to know now? Or you’d continue joking with your life right here.” Blossom scoffed.

Wayne felt a bit offended by what she just said but covered it up with the fact that his plan was already working. He shouldn’t expect less from a spoilt brat like her.

“I wish I could tell you all you need to know but……” Blossom didn’t wait for him to finish as she stood up.

“It looks like you don’t want to tell me what I want to hear so keep it to yourself and go to hell.” She said and stomped off.

Wayne smiled for a job weldone and stood up. He took the elevator to Aiden’s office.

He carefully searched in the shelf, looking for the same file Aiden sent its picture to him.

He brought it out when he found it and opened the pages.

When he got to the fifth page, he screenshoted it with his phone and sent it back to Aiden as he also hope it was the right one.

His phone vibrated almost immediately. He checked it to see it was also from Aiden saying thank you.

Wayne smiled lightly as he returned the file back to the shelf.

Aiden was more than a boss to me and they mostly treat themselves like family.

Wayne shook his head and left Aiden’s desk. He went to sit on the couch in the office as he also brought out his phone.

He started scrolling on it with his legs crossed against each other.

As he scrolled the phone, an urge to call Diana suddenly came and he found himself dialing on her number.

He aborted immediately, changing his mind to visit her instead. He wants to take her by surprise.

He stood up and went to his car. He ignited the engine and hit the road.

Minutes later, he was in front of her office. He stopped and waited for her to come out.

She came out few minutes later, going to her car but he honked at her and she stopped walking as she turned to look at his car.

He came out of the car and waved. She walked to him and he unlocked the opposite car door. She entered and he also entered.

“Why are you here?” Diana asked with hands folded beneath her breast.

“I want to firstly apologize for the last time.” Wayne apologized even if he didn’t know what he did wrong.

“What did you do?” She raised a brow at him.

“You know, you looked mad at me when you left.”

“Yeah, you’re right and I’m still angry at you.”

“But I said I’m sorry.”

“Apology not accepted.” Diana said fiercely.

“I’m leaving.” Diana took her purse as she opened the car door and left, leaving Wayne bewildered.

What did he do wrong?

The last time he remembered, he didn’t offend her. He only noticed she became pissed with him when he told her he knew Aiden Turner.

Could that be the reason? But why?
