Chapter 44 - A Snow White of Elegance
Chapter 44 - A Snow White of Elegance
Claudina Rigal entered the room, her snow-white hair cascading down her back, her azure eyes
lighting up the room with an enigmatic light. She wore a dress with a winter-perfect tunic that seemed
to move with the air around her, her beauty so dazzling that it felt as if all the air had been sucked out
of the room.
As she entered the room, she was surrounded by a deep silence; everyone was in awe of her beauty
and grace, and for a moment, all time seemed to have stopped to admire her perfection.
Arthur smiled at her, and she graciously returned his gesture with a gentle nod of her head.
"Hi, Arthur," Claudina said with a warm smile, bowing her head softly.
Arthur then pulled out a chair for her, and she gracefully sat down.
Everyone's eyes that beheld Claudina were filled with awe, and they spoke words of admiration from
the depths of their souls.
"Oh my goodness, she's really Claudina! This is the first time I've seen her in person and I'm in awe,
she's absolutely stunning. There's not the slightest flaw in her, she's absolutely perfect."
"I’m wondering who that guy is?"
"That man previously attended Claudina's concert. I believe he is a business partner who might be
providing financial support for her management."
"That's right. Claudina won't easily fall for anyone. And I'm not willing to let that happen!"
Arthur deliberately emptied the restaurant so that he and Claudina could have the place to themselves.
He paid for the restaurant for the night and the only people left were staff, waiters, chefs, security
guards, some musicians, and others.
Despite being surrounded by only a select few, Claudina's beauty was a sight to behold. Those who
looked upon her couldn't help but be captivated by her perfection, never failing to be charmed.
"Alright," Arthur suggested softly, "why don't we order food first?"
Claudina gave a slow nod in agreement.
"You really put in a lot of effort tonight, Arthur," she said, thanking him sincerely.
Arthur flashed a small smile. "This is a night that many dream of," he said. "And I'm more than happy to
make it special for us."
Claudina chuckled then, and her smile slowly began to light up the night. "You've left me even more
speechless... Do you realize how hard I try just to say hello to you?"
She inhaled deeply, then added, "This is the first time I've ever had a special dinner with a man; I'm so
nervous."
"Haven't we had dinner together before?" Arthur asked quietly as the waitress began to serve their
drinks and food.
"Yes, but it was a very different situation then," she replied, attempting a smile.
Despite her fame and the adoration of many, Claudina was a solitary person who preferred to spend
her time alone and felt most comfortable in small groups.
Furthermore, she had never had a romantic dinner with a man before, especially not one she had
grown to admire and love.
Trying her best to remain composed, she spoke as much as she could, feeling very nervous.
Fortunately, Arthur seemed oblivious to her unease.
"You really are quite unique," Arthur remarked, glancing at Claudina, who had paused to stare back at
him. "I thought that since you're a singer who usually performs in front of millions of people, something
like this shouldn't be a problem for you."
Claudina smiled in response. "When I sing," she began, her voice light and airy, "I'm speaking with my
soul. That way, I can express myself freely, and sing with all my heart, even in front of a large crowd.
But when I'm talking directly to someone, it's a completely different experience."
Arthur nodded slowly, and then he had an idea. He focused, attempting to communicate mentally with
the system.
[Host, yes Host. You can do it. You have enough VIP points to put on a spectacular show for everyone
here.]
"Alright system," Arthur said, nodding slowly, "spend 20 VIP points for singing skill, and 20 VIP points
for piano skill." He imagined his first singing and piano performance, something he had never done
before, and he was relying on the super magic system he had.
[Alright host, your wish is my command]
[Piano - 20 (Advanced)]
[Singing - 20 (Advanced)]
"Claudina," Arthur said quietly, calling her name. He made her raise her face and meet his gaze.
She looked at him with her gentle and calm expression.
"Yes, Arthur?" she replied.
"If you feel that singing is the best way for you to communicate with me, why don't you sing with me?"
he asked. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
"Huh?!" she exclaimed in surprise.
"Would you hesitate to sing with me?" Arthur asked softly.
"No," Claudina quickly shook her head. "I will never doubt you when you say you can do anything in
front of me," she answered, her lips curling into a warm smile.
Claudina had saved a song she had written a long time ago, a song she dreamed of singing with
someone very special in her life. To this day, she still holds onto that dream of one day being able to
sing that song.
Claudina timidly inquired, "Do you have any particular song in mind that you'd like to sing with me,
Arthur?"
"Not particularly," Arthur responded. "But, if you could suggest a song, then I might be able to give it a
try."
Claudina couldn't help but let out a giggle at Arthur's comment. "What? Why are you acting like singing
is no big deal for you? Are you really that versatile?"
Arthur smiled at Claudina's question. "Not really," he said, "I'm just an amateur. That's why I'm asking if
you'd be willing to sing with me. And I'll leave the choice of song up to you. Just don't expect too much,
though; I might end up disappointing you."
Upon hearing Arthur's words, Claudina was quiet for a moment, and then she cast her gaze towards
the door where her assistant was standing. A man in a black suit then approached.
"Quinten," she murmured softly, "could you please bring my tablet to me?" Quinten nodded in
response.
After Quinten returned carrying a tablet for Claudina, she presented it to Arthur.
"Arthur," she said softly, her eyes filled with hope, "I apologize if I went too far. Would you be willing to
sing this song with me?"
Arthur gently took the tablet from Claudina's grasp, "Let's give it a go."
He rose and gestured for Claudina to join him.
Sitting down in the plush, black piano chair, Arthur motioned for Claudina to sit next to him, with a
microphone in front of her.
Arthur studied the charts and lyrics on the tablet before him intently, and when his fingers touched the
piano keys, it was almost as if he had been made to play them.
With a light touch, Arthur intuitively knew what he had to do, and a beautiful, gentle melody instantly
filled the room.
Claudina gazed at Arthur with wide-eyed surprise, as did everyone else present.
"Are they going to do a duet?"
"Oh man, I'm so lucky to be able to watch Claudina singing live for free."
"Wait, can that guy really play the piano? They are going to perform a duet, right?"
"That man will play the piano and sing simultaneously. I just hope he doesn't ruin the beauty of
Claudina's voice with his lack of skill."
