The Billionaire’s Pretend Fiancée

The unspoken truth

Roman’s POV

The corners of my mouth quivered in a smile, as I watched Sofie’s eyes lit up as the car screeched down to a halt in front of the college building.

I never knew a day would come that I’d derive so much happiness in seeing another person being happy.

Maybe Damien was right about me getting softer, and less cold to the people around me.

It was all because of Sofie and I wasn’t sure if the thought didn’t scare me.

It had not even been up to fifty days since I had met Sofie, and I was sure that if she asked me to pluck down the stars for her, I’d surely do so.

I had given up trying to convince myself that it was just lust I felt for her and not something akin to love.

Who else was I deceiving anyway but myself?

But something still stood, I wasn’t going to tell Sofie about my feelings until the contract was over.

I wanted to be certain that I wasn’t mistaking compassion for love and that I hadn’t been brainwashed into thinking I had feelings for her all because we had surreal sex.

“We’re here.” She whispered, staring out of the window and clutching her bag tightly.

She was nervous.

Placing a hand on her thigh, I said, “You will do great, cara. You got this and just remember that I’ll always be here rooting for you.”

She nodded, scooting closer to me and wrapping her arms around my neck, “I know. I-It’s just that it’s been quite a while since I last came here. I dropped out from school two years ago and it still feels unreal that I’m really here, you know. I never thought I would ever go back to school but here I am.”

“Everything will be fine, Sofie. Just try to relax and take a deep breath. You should also stop dwelling on negative thoughts, try to steer your mind into thinking more positively, and I’m sure you will easily breeze through the rest of your semesters.” I reassured her as I looped my arms around her waist, and she sat on my lap.

“Thank you.”

“No problem, delicata.” I said before crashing our lips together, ignoring the fact that Nathan was still in the car.

Slipping my tongue into the delicious wetness of her mouth, I ran my hands down her body while she moaned and welcomed me into her mouth. Our tongues fought for dominance while I slid one hand in between her thigh and sensually massaged her crotch.

She squirmed with pleasure as her moans burned into low whimpers, and she hid her face at the crook of my neck while I fumbled with the zippers of her slacks to gain penetrable access into her.

Sofie placed a hand over mine as she broke off the kiss, “I-I have to go now or I’ll be very late for my first class of the day.”

I stared at her; skin flushed, hair tousled and pouty lips moist, and plumped and felt myself melt into a puddle.

Sofie was easily the most beautiful woman I had ever met in the almost three decades that I had spent on earth.

As she grabbed her tote bag which had been plunged to the floor in the heat of our short make out session, I remembered the little gift I had prepared for her.

“Before you go, I’d like you to have this.” I smiled, outstretching a black card to her.

She looked confused as she stared at the plastic without moving an inch to collect it from me and I wondered if I hadn’t overdone things again.

“You don’t have to do this, Roman. You really don’t, you are making me feel too indebted to you.” She sighed as she stared at me.

I shook my head in negation, “No, cara. There’s no need to feel indebted to me. I just want to make sure that you are always comfortable. I don’t want you to be stressed by either anyone or anything, so please accept this.”

I had been in multiple sexual relationships with various women before but Sofie was the first to make my heart skip a beat whenever I stared at her.

She sighed before collecting it from me, “Thanks for always looking out for me.” She leaned in to place a kiss on my lips.

“I’ll see you.” She said before climbing out of the car and I nodded.

I watched her trek further into the school, my heart swelling with pride.

I noticed the scent of my cologne wafting off of her but I decided against pointing it out, so she wouldn’t feel embarrassed.

I turned to stare at the rear-view mirror, and found Nathan’s eyes fixed on me with a wry smile twisting the corners of his lips. When he realized that I was now staring at me, he quickly averted his gaze and cleared his throat. This is from NôvelDrama.Org.

I ignored his antics, and retrieved my tablet from my briefcase to revise my schedule for the week.

He cleared his throat again as he switched on the ignition, and we set out for the company.

Once again, I paid no mind to him and just continued skimming through my endless engagements for that day.

When he cleared his throat for the third time, and I caught him staring at me through the mirror again, I darted a warning glare at him.

“Don’t even dare to say a word, do you understand me?” I warned, turning my attention back to the device in my hold.

“Yes, sir.” He said and I could detect the underlying tone of amusement in his voice.

“Nathan, behave yourself.” I warned again, this time with a sterner tone and that did the job.

“I’m sorry, sir.” He mumbled before focusing on the road.

I waved off his apology as a strangely familiar name stared at me from the tablet; Alexander Guilon.

From what I saw, I was to have a meeting with him over lunch later that day. I had heard of that name before but I just couldn’t place a finger on who the name belonged to.

“Who is Alexander Guilon?” I asked Nathan.

“He’s the man who Veronica and Alphonso Diaz wanted madam Sofie to get married to.”

I couldn’t believe I had almost made the mistake of meeting him for a discussion about my possible investment  in his company in the future.

I saw red as rage instantly filled me, “Cancel every meeting we may have with him from now henceforth, and if any representative from his company reaches out, ignore them.”

“Yes, sir.” Nathan replied and I hummed as I looked out of the window.
