Revenge is Best Served… After Reborn

Odie's attempt to grab the gun didn't quite pan out. Jonah, who was standing by, was all set to jump in and team up with Odie, but before he could make his move, a gunshot echoed through the air. Sophie let out a painful grunt.

Blood trickled from her shoulder, and her face went pale as sweat, as big as peas, dotted her forehead from the searing pain. Odie, ready to spring into action, suddenly froze.

Colby's face turned as dark as a stormy sky; he had his pistol aimed right at the back of Kiran's head. But Kiran, cool as a cucumber, kept his back turned to him.

"Colby, think it through. Next time... it won't just be the shoulder."

Kiran's words sent a shiver down Colby's arm, making his hand tremble. Everyone had witnessed Kiran's prowess. If he missed once, it wouldn't just be Sophie's shoulder that was in danger. These thoughts zipped through Colby's mind, but before he knew it, Kiran had already whisked Sophie away.

"Colby! Colby!"

Adler was shaking Colby frantically, "Come on, think! We need a plan!"

Sophie's words kept echoing in his mind, and the image of her looking at him was vivid. He needed to stay calm. There had to be more to this situation.

"What's Kiran's deal?" Colby's gaze, sharp as a knife, zeroed in on Sandy.

Sandy went pale and shook her head vigorously, "I-I don't know."

"You don't know?"

Colby moved closer, his voice ice-cold, "Kiran's been tailing us, and he's your brother. How could you not know?"

Under the watchful eyes of everyone, Sandy shook her head desperately, "I really don't know! I don't!"

Seeing Sandy's distress, Jenna

stepped in, "Alright, let's get out of here and figure this out later. Sophie said they wouldn't harm her yet, right? Det's get outside and cal Mr. Gordon for help, maybe it's not too late."

"Yeah, yeah! We need to save her first!"

Adler quickly pulled out his phone, "I'll call Rick!"

"No need," Odie said, his tone icy, "They're up there, holding Sophie. No one's gonna dare make a move."

Up in the cavern, Kiran had already taken Sophie with him.

James saw Sophie, bloodied and battered, and his face darkened immediately, "Kiran! Do you know what you've done?"

"What? Feeling sorry for her?" Kiran casually shoved Sophie into James's arms.

Claire, seeing the opportunity, chimed in,

Before Claire could finish, James gave Colt a look.

Colt stepped forward and slapped Claire hard, leaving one side of her face swollen.

"You!"

"Sophie's still got her uses," James said, lifting Sophie into his arms, "Call an ambulance, and get that bleeding stopped!"

Harold, not far away, had arrived

with his team.
