Revenge After rebirth (Mayra and Anderson)

Revenge 185

Revenge 185

The maid, Helen Rose, widened her eyes in shock. Without hesitation, she quickly helped Mayra up. “Ms. Sadler, are you okay?”

Helen helped the trembling Mayra up. Mayra clung tightly to the maid’s hand as if she had found a lifeline. Helen didn’t expect the power outage to frighten Mayra that much.

Seeing Mayra’s pale face and tight grip on her hand, Helen

wondered what had startled Mayra so badly. Mayra was crying so intensely that Helen felt a deep sympathy for her.

Helen helped Mayra to the couch and sat her down. Mayra was wearing only one shoe, and her ankle was swollen and red. Helen

assumed she had fallen down the stairs.

“Ms. Sadler, I’ll call Mr. Anderson.”

Mayra panted as she asked, “When will the power come back?”

“It’s hard to say. With this heavy rain, it’ll probably only be back tomorrow. Ms. Sadler, let me call Mr. Anderson.”

Mayra kept holding the maid’s hand tightly. “Andy is probably with Isa right now. I don’t want to disturb them.”

Mayra curled up on the couch. Helen hesitated as she wasn’t one to meddle and gossip. Since she started working at the mansion, she had heard rumors about how Mayra was scheming and aiming

to become the madam of the house.

Having worked as a maid in many households before, Helen had seen it all. It was common to see men in their 40s or 50s bringing young ladies back to their mansions.

Chap 185

It seemed to her that the other maids had misunderstood Mayra.

After all, Mayra was only 16. What could she know? She spent most of her time studying after school and had no malicious intent.

“Ms. Sadler, I’ll get the first aid kit. If Mr. Anderson sees your injuries, he’ll blame me.”

Mayra held onto her. “I’m okay, it doesn’t hurt at all. Don’t go.”

She leaned closer toward Helen, relying on her. In this situation, anyone’s presence would feel like a lifeline.

“Ms. Sadler, how about you go back to your room? You’ll catch a cold if you stay out here at night.” Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

Mayra nodded as she choked with sobs. She clung to Helen’s hand and refused to let go.

“Ms. Sadler, can you bear it for a moment? I’ll get the first aid kit. If we don’t treat your injury, it’ll get worse.”

Mayra nodded in pain. “Okay.”

Helen carried the first aid kit while supporting Mayra back to her room. They also needed a flashlight. Otherwise, she was worried Mayra might not even dare to return to her room.

When Mayra got back to her room, her other lost shoe was still by the doorway.

When Helen placed the flashlight on the desk, it barely illuminated the spacious room. The rain outside was getting heavier.

Helen said, “I’m guessing Mr. Anderson won’t be coming back tonight.”

Mayra sat on the bed with messy hair and a torn nightgown. She

looked as fragile as a delicate doll. If she hadn’t lifted her head, she would’ve been mistaken for a lifeless doll.

Helen applied medicine to Mayra’s injuries and helped her change into clean clothes. Mayra finally managed to calm down.
