Chapter 13
Both of them were startled awake. When Willette saw the man next to her, her eyes were still a bit confused. After she realized who he was, she trembled and her eyes cleared up a bit, but she looked very flustered.
The man standing next to her appeared calm, with one hand still holding her shoulder, a smile on his face, and even licking his lips with satisfaction.
Barclay was instantly furious, rushed up and punched the man in the face, which made Willette scream in fright.
Nydia pulled Willette over. “Sister, let’s go first.”
Willette was obviously scared and didn’t think too much. She was even pulled away by Nydia before she could explain.
Once she left, Barclay became even more angry and the two started fighting.
But the man was not an easy target. At first, he was hit by Barclay, but as the fight continued, Barclay seemed to be no match for him.
“Barclay, as long as Willette hasn’t married you yet, I still have a chance. Willette must like me, otherwise, she wouldn’t have kissed me, right?”
This statement once again infuriated Barclay, and he wanted to keep fighting, but the man pushed him away.
“I don’t have time to fight with you here. We’ll see in the future. I will definitely take Willette away from you.” After speaking, he left.
Barclay was so angry that he punched the wall twice, and his mind was filled with images of Willette kissing another man and the man’s words.
Meanwhile, Willette, who was being pulled away by Nydia, was still in a daze.
“Sister, have a drink of water first.”Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.
“Nydia, I, I… what’s going on? How could I… Barclay, I have to find Barclay.” She seemed incoherent.
“You both need to calm down first. This is definitely a misunderstanding. Just explain it clearly to Barclay.”
“Yes, yes, it’s a misunderstanding, a misunderstanding.” Willette’s mind was still not clear.
Nydia’s lips curled up. Misunderstanding?
If relying on someone and not being able to stand on one’s own can be explained as feeling unwell, then how does she explain kissing someone and looking so intoxicated, when it’s not being forced upon her?
The man was originally Willette’s pursuer, and Willette is used to keeping backup options and enjoys being pursued and adored. She didn’t expect it to come in handy today.
“I have to go find him!”
“If you go find him now, he won’t listen to your explanation while he’s angry, and everyone will know what happened when it turns into a scene.”
This statement successfully dispelled Willette’s thoughts.
Nydia knew that the longer the misunderstanding dragged on, the deeper it became, and the harder it was to find evidence.
“Can you guys take care of my sister for a while? She seems to have had too much to drink. I have to go back.” Nydia called the Malones to take care of Willette. “Sister, I’m leaving first. You go home and rest well. Don’t think too much.”
She left to find Jesse and the kids. She found them all at the door. “Were you guys waiting for me?” Nydia asked with a smile.
“No!” Jesse said coldly.
Molly revealed the truth directly. “Mommy, we were waiting for you. We waited for five, six, seven, eight minutes.” She put put her little finger while counting, and her finger got a bit out of control when she counted to eight.
“Wow, thank you, Molly, Tavish, and Jesse.”
Jesse’s lips involuntarily curled upwards, but he immediately suppressed the expression when he realized what he was doing.
After getting in the car, the adults didn’t say much, and the two kids chattered away. “Brother, what’s the name of the… fat pig who bullied us today?” Molly asked.
Nydia couldn’t help but smile, but didn’t interrupt.
“I don’t know. I’ll find out next time and tell you.”
Then she saw Molly take out a small notebook and a cute pen from her bag, and she wrote down “Fat Pig.”
“Brother, how do you spell pig?” Tavish thought for a moment and replied, “I don’t know. Draw a picture instead.”
In the end, the notebook read “Fat Pig, bullied me and my brother.”
Nydia knew this was Molly’s revenge notebook. She would write down the people who had bullied her and Tavish, and occasionally write “Brother scolded Molly, have to ignore him for 30 minutes.” After returning home, everyone had to take a shower.
Molly said to Nydia, “Mommy, can you help me take a bath?”
“Of course,” Nydia pinched Molly’s cheeks and couldn’t help but love her.
“Does Tavish need mommy’s help to take a bath too?”
Tavish, who had looked disappointed, became happy when he heard Nydia’s words, but soon blushed and said, “No, I’m a boy!” He said it seriously, like adult.
Nydia looked at Jesse, their eyes met, but Jesse turned his gaze away. His ears were slightly red, but his face remained cold.
She didn’t say anything more and took Molly to the bathroom.
However, Tavish went to Jesse’s wheelchair and nervously grabbed the armrests, whispering, “Daddy, I’m worried about Molly.”
Bathing seemed to be easy to have accidents.
Jesse frowned slightly and didn’t speak immediately.
“How did you feel when mommy helped you today?” he asked Tavish.
Tavish was slightly surprised and thought of what had happened not long ago. He pursed his lips subconsciously when he said, “I didn’t feel anything.” He didn’t look at Jesse’s eyes when he spoke.
“Go get Julia to help,” Jesse said without saying anything else.
“Okay.”
Tavish ran to find Julia, the maid.
Jesse looked thoughtful as he watched the running figure. He already understood what had happened tonight. Was Nydia just protecting the children or did she have other intentions?
After experiencing Tavish falling into the water and having poison in his coffee, he dared not easily trust Nydia.
“Mr. Louie Wollridge called me several times, but I didn’t answer,” the assistant said to Jesse.
Louie Wollridge was the husband of the beautiful woman who had just bullied the two children.
“If he calls again tomorrow, tell him I’m busy.”
“Okay.”
“You collect information about Louie and his company and look for new partners at the same time.”
“Okay, I’ll do that right away.”
Although Louie had already secured a partnership with Jesse and was about to sign a contract in a few days, as long as the contract was not signed, the partnership would not be established.
Many people were eager to work with Jesse, and he would never be short of partners.
