Chapter 15 The Heroine Came
Getting along with people was a process of mutual respect.
She was perfectly patient with Kendrick.
Others would never get such treatment except him. Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.
Natalie stood up, "It's time for me to go out."
She glanced at Alisson before leaving, and took Alisson's hand, saying, "You have a lot of hangnails in
your hands. You'd better take more vitamin B." After saying that, she just gave the hand scream on the
desk to Alisson, "Here, take this. Remember to use it after washing your hands."
Alisson was surprised. She hurriedly took the cream and expressed her gratitude as she responded.
She watched Natalie going out, and then whispered to Ashlynn, "Mrs. Ramsay just said that I got many
hangnails in my hands and she thus gave me a hand cream. How thoughtful she is. Well, I don't even
notice them."
Ashlynn agreed, "Well, yesterday she told me to drink eight glasses of water every day, and said I had
dry skin."
"Mrs. Ramsey has changed a lot recently. She is bright and loves laughing. And she became so patient
with Mr. Ramsey."
"She's more than that. It seems that she is rather knowledgeable and talented." Ashlynn covered her
mouth, "The wish I have made before the New Year is about to come true."
Alisson was curious, "What kind of wish?"
"Well... I just wish that Mrs. Ramsey and Mr. Ramsey would get along well, otherwise it is suffocating
every day in the family. Every time I go upstairs to Mrs. Ramsey's room, I'm under great pressure for
fear that I should get a rollicking."
"Does the wish really work? I'll have a try then." Alisson said, "Well, we will take a holiday from this
afternoon to tomorrow, and then I can make a wish for my love affairs."
Ashlynn thought silently, "Probably the wish will never work if she does that."

Only two phrases were used to describe the Ramsey Group in the original book.
Hoodwinked the public and got fabulously wealthy.
The ancestors of the family were rather illustrious and powerful. Seth Ramsey, Kendrick's grandfather,
was born into a top-notch military and political family. He traveled to Norford as the family fortunes
declined. After experiencing many years of ups and downs, he founded the Ramsey Group single-
handedly.
Its business covered many fields including real estate, finance, machinery and chemistry.
The Ramsey family had complex relationships and a large population.
Even after reading the family tree again in the car, Natalie still couldn't distinguish between different
kinships of the family members.
She just knew that at present Seth most loved Brett Ramsey, the son of his eldest son, because Brett
bore a striking resemblance to him when he was young.
Although Brett had served overseas for many years, he would be back today.
Another one was Maggie Ramsey, who had the protagonist privilege in the book.
She was the youngest granddaughter in the family and Brett's younger sister.
She was favored by nature and the family.
Based on the book's chronological sequence, Maggie might be twenty years old this year, and was still
a sophomore in the Academy of Film and Television.
As for Kendrick, he was not favored because his father disobeyed Seth and refused the family
marriage.
His parents died young.
And he got deformed legs.
He had always been invisible and unnoticed for the first twenty years of his life.
It wasn't until recent years that he succeeded in carrying out a project which no one rated and thus
gradually made his voice heard in the family.
Every banquet held in the Ramsey family would never be an opportunity simply for all the members to
gather together to have a meal or talk about the old days in order to rekindle the brotherhood.
Instead, there would be conflicts of interest.
The group was so large, having numerous descendants.
Therefore, Seth would re-divide the interest of the group based on performances.
In short, projects with high benefits and profits that were easy to achieve would be allocated to anyone
performing well.
Those who failed to do so would only be marginalized.
Indeed, it was that cruel.
As for the banquet today...
Natalie turned to look at Kendrick and said, "If today's family banquet is held only to celebrate Brett's
arrival, it's actually nothing to do with us and we'll just eat the meal quietly. Am I right?"
She had a little social phobia.
She didn't like any crowded place.
That was similar to the original owner.
Therefore, Kendrick and her moved out of the Ramsey's mansion and lived in their own martial house.
"Just stay by my side." said Kendrick, "I will take the shot for you if anything happens."
He just said so out of his nature, without extra feelings.
But Natalie just had some delicate affection to him.
He was manly indeed.
In this kind of marriage, he has done everything he could with due diligence, except for developing a
feeling for her.
--
The Ramsey's mansion was rather quiet.
Although the house was located in the city center, it kept off the hustle and bustle nearby.
The pavilion in the house was built in a similar style to the ancient architectural one. But it also blended
the modern elements together, having swimming pools, golf courses and tennis courts.
The word "luxurious" would be barely enough to describe it.
Therefore, the Quinn family tried every means to marry their daughter off.
Even though Kendrick had deformed legs, they would still permit the marriage.
After all, his surname was Ramsey.
The Quinn family was detestable.
However, but for them, probably she would never have any contact with Kendrick in her life.
Natalie pushed the wheelchair towards the main house. Those thoughts flashed through her mind, but
soon she stopped thinking about it. No, she felt that she could not whitewash what they had done. They
just did it for profit purely.
"The koi in that pond are so beautiful. Why don't we go there and have a look?"
With sharp eyes, she noticed that all the koi in the pond in the rockery before her were rare, one of
which would probably cost a great amount of money.
"... All right."
They walked forward for a while.
"Ken!"
Someone ahead suddenly stopped them.
Natalie looked up.
It was Maggie coming.
The description of Maggie's appearance in the original book almost exhausted the author's fancy words
in his life. To say it simply, if must, Maggie was so beautiful that she even looked good in scruffy
clothes.
She was only twenty years old now, and the story had not yet begun.
Two years later, she would go for a ride because of a broken relationship and just save Jared Brewer,
the protagonist and the illegitimate son of the Brewer family or the Norford overlord. He hid his identity
as a gigolo and an Adonis and then deceived Maggie a lot.
Natalie didn't read the original book carefully, but she knew that Maggie became an international
actress in the end.
Therefore, following her would definitely be the key to traffic and wealth generation.
"What are you thinking about, Nat?" Maggie frowned.
The original owner didn't have much contact with Maggie and thus had no conflict temporarily.
Natalie came back to earth and asked, "What's wrong?"
"I'm saying that you'd better take a rest, and I can push the wheelchair for Ken." Maggie was a bit self-
willed. She hated being ignored when talking.
"That won't be necessary!" Natalie smiled, "But you can hold an umbrella for us."
The sunlight in the afternoon was rather blazing. She pushed the wheelchair with one hand and held
the umbrella with another. It would be better if someone was willing to help.
But Maggie found it unbelievable.
What? How could Natalie tell her what to do?
But Natalie had already delivered the umbrella.
Maggie was forced to hold it.
Natalie took out a sunscreen spray from her bag and sprayed it into her face, saying, "The house is so
big. I feel like I've been walking for a long time. It's boiling and I almost get sunburned."
Maggie felt puzzled, "Then why don't we walk along the long corridor of the flower stand, which leads
directly to the hall and can cut out the sunlight."
"Well, I've forgot it." Natalie said calmly, "Kendrick, why didn't you remind me? Have you forgotten it
too?"
He replied to him with profound resignation, "Aren't you coming here to see the koi?"
So now Nat wanted to see the koi in the pond, and Ken thus endured the heat and accompanied her to
go a long way round.
Moreover, Ken was always cold and indifferent, having a strict word limit. Then why did his tone show
some favor of Nat?
