Chapter 478: Why Don’t You Admit That I’m Your Wife?
Kylie turned back to glare at him. Ethan smiled but looked mad. “Answer my question.”
Tory also stared at Kylie. It seemed he was curious about Kylie’s answer too. The moment Kylie entered this room, he noticed Ethan’s unusual reaction.
Kylie glanced at the people around the table, then her sight fell on Ben’s face at the end.
She smiled at him with guilt before she explained to others in a loud voice. “I’m so sorry. This is Mr. Parker, and he’s my husband.”
Once she finished her sentences, a senior manager sitting by Ethan’s other side stood up. “Miss, please mind your language.” He looked quite serious. “Chairman Parker is already married, and Mrs. Parker is his love.”
“Right, please take your words back,” another senior manager said.”
Kylie clenched her fists, looking at Ethan, but he wouldn’t help her out.
“I just heard the little boy call you, mom.” Ethan squinted at Kylie.
Tory smiled, turned to look at Ben, who had no idea what was going on now. “Do you want her to be your mom forever?” Tory asked him in a quiet voice rubbing his hair.
“Will it happen?” Ben asked with a serious face.
Tory didn’t answer his question, but said to Kylie, “Since my son is also your son, I think our relationship is very clear.”
“Tory!” Kylie was anxious. It was such a mess now.
“Ethan, if you don’t admit that I’m your wife now, I’ll leave right away!” Kylie glared at Ethan again.
As long as he admitted it, the problem would be solved.
However, Ethan refused to do so. “You came here not because of me.”
“I-I didn’t know you’re here as well,” Kylie said in a mild panic.
“Of course you didn’t know. If you had known that, you wouldn’t have come here.” Ethan stood up and threw the napkin to the dining table, then walked away without hesitation.
Seeing their boss leaving, those senior managers all left. Tory gave his people a look, and they soon stepped out of this private room.
Within seconds, there were only three of them left around this large dining table.
“I’m so sorry that I’ve ruined your deal,” Kylie said, feeling awkward.
“It’s not your fault.” Tory patted the chair next to him. “Have a seat. We can dine together as a family.”
“Tory, please don’t misunderstand it. Ben is my son only in the show.” Kylie explained.Material © NôvelDrama.Org.
“Well, it’s totally fine if you want to be his mother in real life.” Tory pushed a plate of meat to the front of Ben. Ben picked a small piece of it, and ate it up, then looked at Kylie with his pair of big cute bright eyes.
Kylie was worried that Ethan walked too far away, so she excused herself in a hurry. “I’m sorry. I gotta go now.” After that, she ran outside.
At the corner of the passage, Ethan was waiting for the elevator along with a bunch of people around him. Someone heard her footsteps and reported it to Ethan.
He didn’t turn around at all but directly walked into the elevator once it arrived.
“Hey, Ethan!” Kylie called him behind.
Those senior managers stepped into the elevator one by one. When the door of the elevator was about to fully close, Kylie dashed over, and it opened again.
Ethan strode out and said to his back. “You can go downstairs before me.”
The door closed, and the elevator moved down. Kylie pulled Ethan’s hand. “Why didn’t you admit that I’m your wife?”
Ethan didn’t draw his hand back, but said in a cold tone, “Because you became the mother of another man’s son right in front of my eyes.”
“Ben is just a kid,” Kylie argued.
“Sure.” Ethan nodded. “Probably, you just like to be the mother of another man’s child.”
“Ethan, I understand if you’re jealous of Stephen, but don’t you think it’s too much if you’re jealous of Ben?” Kylie thought she had done nothing wrong today.
“You think I’m just being jealous?” Ethan cocked his eyebrow.
Kylie looked at the man standing in front of her. She somehow felt he looked so strange.
It was so painful that Ethan kept a distance away from her on purpose now.
“Ethan, can we talk?” Kylie softened her voice.
“I need to work now, and we can talk when we’re home.” Ethan drew his hand back and put it into his pants pocket. He moved his eyes away from Kylie’s face to the door of the elevator.
Kylie couldn’t see that he clenched his hand into a tight fist.
Tory appeared out of the blue, and he approached Kylie for a reason.
Tory must want to achieve more than just join the market in Seattle.
The elevator was late, and Ethan hated being in the stalemate against Kylie.
He was afraid he would lose control of himself and couldn’t help but press Kylie to his chest.
He wanted to tell her to stay away from Tory and stop shooting, but he also knew it was impossible.
At short notice, Ethan turned and strode into a fire exit.
Seeing his cold back leaving in her sight, Kylie felt like crying.
When she just composed herself, her phone rang.
“Kylie, the test result is out. Everything is normal,” Stephen said.
“Thanks…” Kylie whimpered.
“Are you crying?” Stephen frowned.
Kylie covered her mouth not to make a sound, but large drops of tears kept falling down from her cheeks.
Ethan, who had cherished her more than anyone else before now, treated her so coldly. He even had refused to admit that she was his wife in a public place.
“Kylie, you’re pregnant now, and your emotional condition is also important,” Stephen said in a very gentle tone. “If the shooting is really tiring, I suggest you have a few days off.”
Kylie raised her head to stop tears from falling. “I’m fine. I-I’m just too devoted to my role in the show.” Kylie did her best to make herself sound relaxed.
“Oh, I’m relieved to hear that. I thought you and Ethan…” Stephen said, but Kylie interrupted him. “Nonsense! You know how much he has spoiled me.”
“Right.” Stephen laughed a little.
“Well, I’m afraid I need to hang up now. The director is calling me,” Kylie said and wiped her eyes.
When their call ended, Stephen heard a clear ding-dong sound. The elevator arrived. A touch of creepy coldness flashed by his eyes. He turned around, and the housekeeper reported. “Lord Stephen, Dinah is back.”
