Chapter 101 A Bucket of Ice Water
Cold!
Not only was it cold, but it also hurt!
It was a bucket of ice water.
The sound of water splashing mixed with the sound of ice hitting the ground. The onlookers all gasped in shock! Oh my god! This was too cruel!Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.
Ranita, who had it worst, was soaked from head to toe. Her lips were even paler than before due to the cold and pain, and her body trembled slightly.
“Ranita!” Olivia immediately broke free from being held back and rummaged through a blanket as she draped it over Ranita. “Are you okay, Ranita?”
“Miss Stuart, you went too far…”
“I went too far? Why don’t you ask these people whether or not a mistress who meddles in other people’s relationships deserves to be doused with ice water?” Holly looked at the onlookers with great momentum. She didn’t look like she was lying at all; their gazes towards Ranita had changed.
Especially some women who began to criticize, “You men only care about looks and are always talking about how beautiful this woman upstairs is… she’s just a mistress without any shame.”
“Some people may seem high and mighty but who knows how many men they’ve been involved with behind their backs!”
“Don’t look anymore; this is someone else’s private matter. Let’s go!”
…
Although that was what they said, they didn’t really leave; they were still gossiping while waiting for what would happen next.
Ranita wiped her face with the blanket then glanced around at everyone coldly before turning towards Olivia saying, “Call the police.”
“Ranita, how dare you!” Holly shouted angrily.
The surrounding crowd started pointing fingers as well, “Oh my god! How can she still have the nerve to call the police?”
“If you’re going to meddle in other people’s relationships, then you should know what consequences come along with that thick skin!”
…
Olivia couldn’t take it anymore so she stormed out shouting, “What are all of you saying?! You’re just gossiping without knowing anything! All of you need to disperse right now!”
“If none of you leave soon I’ll use this broomstick!”
Olivia usually kept quiet but now she really lost her temper! She picked up a broomstick regardless of anyone outside and chased them away one by one before finally closing the door shut.
“You have quite an obedient dog there.” Holly lightly played around by tapping her fingernails together. “Ranita, I advise against calling the police if I were you! You might not be afraid but Olivia… I can deal with her easily enough!”
“Don’t threaten me like that! We live in a society governed by law now!” Even though Olivia knew better than confronting Holly directly since she could distinguish right from wrong clearly unlike Mia or Carl when faced against Ranita.
“Olivia, you’re too naive!” Holly laughed. “Do you know what they say? Money talks and bullshit walks.”
“You…” Olivia wanted to argue, but Ranita quickly interrupted her. It was better not to offend Holly too much.
“Olivia, just stop,” Ranita said firmly.
“But she’s bullying you…” Olivia’s eyes were red with anger.
“I’m fine,” Ranita shook her head at Olivia and gestured for her to calm down. “You should go back to the office and pack your things.”
Olivia didn’t want to leave. Both of them might not be able to handle Holly alone! But Ranita pushed her away. “Go now!”
As soon as Olivia left, Ranita raised her hand and slapped Holly hard across the face. The sound echoed in the room as a bright red mark appeared on Holly’s cheek.
The slap stunned not only Holly but even the bodyguards who were standing nearby.
